MICDS (Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School): what do users think?
stephanie kolman: Wonderful middle school teachers, great families!
Srikamal M: Went here for kindergarten from what I remember it was a great school!
Key Gateway: Thanks I hate it
Jin Zou (阿瑾): This private school has the biggest campus and ball park with beautiful view for about 1200 students. What a luxury!!
Unequaled Maverick: Beautiful school in a top notch area.
Stacey B.: MICDS is not a perfect school; however, I don't believe any perfect schools exist. I think it is a very bad over exaggeration to say all the kids get bullied. My child has been there for 5 years and has never gotten bullied. I can count at least 5 more students who have never gotten bullied, which means all the kids there aren't getting bullied. Bulling does exist in most schools in some fashion and if it is not reported nothing can be done. You should never stop moving up the ladder of administration until you get results, no matter where you go. My son isn't the smartest, coolest, or sportiest but he is very comfortable with who he is and the school has supported that from our experience. The teachers and administrators that I have directly dealt with during our time there are ALL amazing! There is nothing basic about anything taught at MICDS. Do they have some bad apples on faculty, maybe; however, I have never met them. And I'm not saying they do not exist, but does that mean the entire school is horrible, no. It means there is work to be done! And I believe the head of school is more then willing to clean house if something is brought to her attention. You can't just fire someone because a parent is upset, but if a parent reports a teacher and a trend is identified, then that is grounds from removal. The head of school is a gracious woman who LOVES her kids (all who attend)! She has a very tricky role to play, she can't do it alone and she can't change the attitudes of everyone! However, she is trying to be the best human being she can be and is expecting the same from all who are in the MICDS community! I don't believe in throwing stones, unless you can claim perfection in your life. No place is perfect and all kids deserve a great, fun, and safe place to learn. Does the school need to increase it's diversity in the student body and faculty, yes. Is the school moving toward improvement in that area, yes. Nothing happens overnight, so I think it is very irresponsible to condemn the school for an issue the school is trying to address. It is a very prestigious school and full of wealth with that comes some "uncomfortable" conversations, different perceptions, different values and morals. When you have a bowl full of different oils they don't always mix well, so it takes strategic efforts from everyone to make things blend smoothly. And MICDS is no different.
Shell Oakley: By far the best college prep school in St. Louis. You get what you pay for. It is expensive, but you won't find a better education anywhere. They do offer scholarships! Their students are well rounded and are taught/coached on how to navigate and thrive in today's global community. Their science education program is stellar! They are working hard to make it a more diverse school and have come a long way over the years. I would highly recommend that you call for a tour...I promise you'll be impressed!
Wally Greer: Horrible traffic jams morning and afternoon.
shaaz ahmed: The school lacks in diversity. The admissions has to be open to accepting a more diverse student body. Not too impressed.

New City School: what do users think?
Sage Senger: Great place for students to learn
Margaret H Pearson: Progressive, inclusive education that encourages kids to be leaders on a global stage.
R Y: Truly a place of joyful learning. My child loves school and loves learning. It's an investment into human capital.
Dan Landiss: Private school, roughly ages 5 through 12. Exceptionally diverse.
R Kaskowitz: This was a magical nurturing place for my kids. Where a child pretends to be well so they don't miss a day.
Jessica Bueler: Wonderful environment for children to grow and reach their full potential.
Tasmyn Scarl: New City School has been and continues to be a remarkable experience for our whole family. Our kids will not only be more prepared for the increasingly rigorous academic challenges they will face in secondary school, they are learning to be good people who understand how to navigate the complexities of today's world with curiosity, respect for diversity, ability to express themselves in a thoughtful way, and a lifelong joy of learning.
Glo.kidz5 Channel: I love this
James Grove: A great school for preschool through 6th grade. Teaches using the theory of multiple intelligences.

Visitation Academy of St. Louis: what do users think?
Mary McGraugh: My cousin had a horrible experience here. She was unfairly expelled and given no support after such a traumatizing ordeal. There was no discussion or compassion on the side of the school administration. They claim to be a Catholic and Christian institution but if they really were, they would practice what they preach, which they absolutely do not. I would never consider sending any of my daughters here.
Courtney Fusz: Visitation has gone over and beyond for my daughter! She’s been there since the toddler Montessori program and is now in 3rd grade. The teachers communicate with you and they want your daughter to succeed! The other day we went to morning mass before school and I was so touched that a young woman, that was obviously on high school, walked up to my daughter and knew her by name. Come for a visit and see just how wonderful Visitation Academy could be for your child!
Bev Byrd: Love this school. They really care about the students. Every school is not for everyone. Academics are important and Viz strives to have girls be well rounded. Faculty and staff care about student and look out for them. I have worked here for 18+years and still love it.
ila l: Best all-girls school in Saint Louis. Focus on education but they also have solid athletics.
Helen Gelhot: We shopped around exhaustively for schools and this one had was "hands down" tops for academics. The (surprisingly) best part however was the kindness we were shown which was unique to Visitation. .

Whitfield School: what do users think?
314 High School Reviews: If you ask me, Whitfield will accept probably everyone applying to Whitfield besides those who totally flunk the Admissions process. Whitfield doesn't have the top-notch education that schools like Priory, MICDS and John Burroughs have, but it is a good school that should be considered in the Admissions process. This school should be your 3-5 school on your list and the best part about Whitfield is this A+++ diversity. This school caters to many different ethnicities and gives you semi-tailored education, as many schools do. The Whitfield community is tight-knit and is very nurturing and friendly. This school should definitely be on your list.
Kristy Flood: Amazing education and staff!
Devlin McCoy: i have friends who go to whitfield this school is ok micds is better by a little bit you need to be better your school needs more classes
Shirley Lieber: My son had a wonderful education at Whitfield. Teachers, staff and students have great respect for each other.
Clyde Niblett: It has been rewarding for my son's education and growth.A good atmosphere for positive insight and priority.

Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis: what do users think?
John Ryan: Christian Academy is a perfect example of what faith based curriculum looks like. The teachers, staff, board of directors, and volunteers all are leading members in the Christian Curch of Christ community, and it shows in their affection for the school. The schools mission to prepare each student to live a life of value and meaning to God, society, amd self, shines through in their interaction with the students.
Logan Chionio: I really like this school and its cool
Beverly Isenberg: Both of my children attended CA from K-12 grade. They have gone on and graduated with honors from college. Our oldest daughter has also received her Masters degree, and has established herself in her career field in Texas. Our second child is in the third year of her Doctoral degree in Nashville. She recently was invited to make a presentation of research she has conducted while in graduate school to a National convention of OT's. I believe strongly that the level of success our daughters have attained is heavily influenced by the great foundation they received while at CA. Although the school is not perfect, it provided all that our daughters needed in terms of faith-based, strong academics. They were encouraged daily to be positive contributors to our world. The academics were strong and they were able to participate in team sports every season, and were part of groups such as the chorus and theater, where they developed strong and long-lasting relationships and developed skills best taught in team/troupe situations. If a student wants to be involved in any of the extra-curricular activities, the opportunities are available to all students. In order to be fully transparent, I want to say that I work at this school. However, I would not leave my children in a school setting that I did not feel was absolutely the best environment for them. I would not sacrifice their education for loyalty to my employer. I had the choice to send them anywhere I wanted. And I can say confidently, that CA was the right choice for our family. They are a product of the great experiences they had while students at CA. And I will be forever grateful for the love, support, guidance, and education that they received there.
Ndx d d Dbdd d: If your looking to go to this school please don’t this school is horrible
David McComber: I am very grateful for this school. One of my daughters graduated from Christian Academy and I think it helped her become the fine christian woman, wife and mother that she is today! The faculty and staff were always there to help with her studies and also provide a solid christian influence. This is a great school that I would recommend to anyone seeking a good education, with christian values as well. Thank you CA!
CJ Zanders: It's a pretty good school if I do say so myself.
Cheryl Young: My son has been going here for two years, he's now going to be a junior in HS. My Daughter took some college level classes here her Senior year. We love the family atmosphere and knowing that teachers and students really care for each other. Stack a great education on top of that, nothing could be better! If you are looking for a school that is accepting of anyone and want a great education with a christian background and loving attitude bring your children here!!!!
Mel Fong: An amazing Christian school. Fantastic teachers, staff and administration The school continues to excel academically allowing all educational needs to be met. From core classes to advanced and college classes. The personalized attention that each student receives is a unique benefit CA offers.
Carla Payne: I have two children that attended the Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis from preschool through 12th grade. They were surrounded by loving teachers and coaches that helped them along the way. They were both strong academically and went on to finish their degrees at the university level. I appreciate the time and energy of the teachers and staff in helping my husband and I raise our kids in a Christ-like environment.
Anderson Maestri: My son is in elementary school there, and it is the most loving environment! He loves his teachers and his friends so much. Small classes with great quality curriculum. It is worth every penny!
Shannon Davidson: I sent my kids here and they got a great education in a Christian environment and we really enjoyed the sports programs.

Saint Louis Priory School: what do users think?
Corina Newman: Best school ever! God is truly guiding this school!
Luke Faust: I am a student there in seventh grade and I think it has been one of the best experiences of my life. It is challenging but the teachers are pretty laid back and are always willing to help you.
bobdonnelly: Son is a graduate, and I have to say he was prepared for college head and shoulders above his peers. The impact of the Benedictine community cannot be over exaggerated...I graduated from a Marianist high school where there are now only, perhaps, a handful of clergy. This place isn't perfect, it has its warts like everywhere else, but in the grand scheme, they did what I asked them to do: help educate my son to a high level with values that are becoming a rare commodity in this world. Recommend without reservation!
Mary Pisani: Graduate. Isolated school. No school/life balance, too much homework. School not involved with local community. Average school at best but no significant value for the cost.
ila l: Best academics in Saint Louis, hands down. Athletics are also pretty good.

The Waldorf School of St. Louis: what do users think?
Ru Munoz: We researched for better school options for our child and it all lead us to Waldorf School of St Louis!!! We are coming up on an entire first year for our child and she has absolutely flourished as a person!!!
Kelly Childs: I am huge fan of the Waldorf School of St. Louis. My children have attended the school for more than a decade. They are thriving intellectually, socially and emotionally. There are a lot of misconceptions about Waldorf education and the academics but we have found it academically rigorous and challenging for both of our children who are quite different learners. They are engaged deeply with the content and cannot get out of the car fast enough in the mornings.Kudos to the strength and depth of the Waldorf curriculum for meeting children where they are AND achieving high academic standards without the stress and anxiety. Graduates of the school are doing impressively well at a wide variety of high schools from public to magnet to private. While the campus may underwhelm some, stick around and you will see why most come to LOVE it. It's more than worth the cost of admission!
Jay Kelley: If you love your children and really care about what kind of person they are going to be when they grow up, then you should have them in this school as soon as possible. In every way, I can see this school's influence on the personalities of my children. They are at peace (No bullying there), they are curious, they are healthy, and they are polite. I do my part but let's be honest, the teachers are spending more time with my boys than I do sometimes. We all know public schools are behind the times, and it's true money is a consideration, but you owe it to yourself and your children to research this place before you put them in what will be the single most important influence of their young lives right behind their parents. I'll be the first to admit, some of their stuff might seem a little "out there" at times, but that's because we look at it from the perspective of an adult. From the perspective of your child, it's magical, it's wondrous, and that's what matters. I can feel good knowing that as a Dad, I helped give my kids the best possible start in life by enrolling them in this school. Thank God their Mom knew about it, or I would have missed out. Hopefully this review will do the same for someone else.
Jay Nannab: Average, but different. It is a unique place to send your child or children if you are wanting them to truly learn to 'be a child' and not get mixed up in all of the media and over exposure that we see in the world today. Young children benefit greatly from this experience as they aren't pressured into testing, learning in a desk from textbooks, following guidelines set forth by the state as to where they need to be at a specific moment in their education or even "traditional" ways of learning that most people are accustomed to. However, be very careful going towards the age of intermediate level of learning because the academic focus really is not there. Not if you are wanting to then send your child to another type of school for the middle / high school years. There is not a school in the area that will be anything like this for the upper grades. You would almost have to send them or move them to the coasts to find a Waldorf high school or collage. Finally, be wary of the communication that you would receive within the school, a consistent struggle in my opinion. Ask and you may or may not receive as there is not a Principal to go to & have issues addressed, only office workers.

Community School: what do users think?
Ann Antoniou: The differentiated learning approach at Community School has allowed each of my children to thrive academically and socially while becoming kind and caring young adults. The school embraces the whole family, and we will forever treasure the time we spent at Community School.
Sarah Matthews: Community School is great! My daughter is eager to learn and excited to be at school each day. The school has found a way to be academically challenging while also nurturing the individual strengths of each child. It is this balanced approach to education that sets Community School apart from the rest.
Barry Albrecht: A great school allows each child to become the best version of themselves. This idea is at the heart of Community School. We have three children at the school and each one is truly understood by their teachers. The faculty push our children to grow and inspire them to discover and pursue new interests and passions. My children head out the door excited for school every single day. Community is their happy place.
