Mitch Parker: There's no way I can adequately express how HORRIBLE this company is. When you try to terminate services with them, good luck! No one answers the phone, no one responds, and you can get angry with them but that doesn't help. Do yourself a favor... choose anyone, and I mean anyone in St Louis area and it'll be better service for sure.
naseem shekhani: Poor customer service and poor service. Never showed up waited whole day that was day before yesterday. . Once they charged us $90+ and office was open and did not have nerve to come in. The guy took Photo of door and left. we ar epaying more than competitiors. Unethical service. I am thinking about cancelling both SHRED IT and STERICYCLE. Very rude when I insited that office was open they still charged me. DO NOT EVEN DESRVE A SINGLE STAR.
Hannah Smith: My company had called multiple times to cancel the service from august 2022 to March 2023. We are still receiving invoices in the mail and don’t even use their services anymore. Do not use this if you expect a monthly bill as well. No mail during the time of service and now that we cancelled, we start receiving them again. Worst customer service. Do not recommend.
Nicole Bustamante: Please, for your own sanity NEVER use this company. Their customer service is awful and it is nearly impossible to get into contact with your sales rep. They never answer emails or return calls. I work for a large organize with many different departments/locations. We've had other team's invoices added to our account, and when asked for them to be removed the complaint is noted in the system but never acted on. We are currently fighting with Shred-it to remove a bin we have already paid for but no longer use.
Amanda Jones: The worst communication and experience. I called no less than 7 times & emailed at least 3-4 times and the “assigned rep”, to set up a one time shred, and the rep NEVER called/emailed back.I was told to go to the nearest location (57 miles away) & it’s locked with no one answering the door. Call the main number and am told it must be closed, “Due to some type of emergency…” What? A paper cut required stitches?I would suggest burning paperwork in a barrel in your backyard before using this company.
Britlyn Tyberendt: If I could leave negative stars, I would in a heartbeat. This company missed our pickups two months in a row. Trying to talk to someone and find a resolution is a joke. After many phone calls and requesting to speak with supervisors, I’m still not receiving any assistance. I was told that a pickup happened the prior day, AND there was a signature by one of our office members. This is a complete lie. I informed them that forging signatures is illegal, and that if we need further proof, we have security cameras we’d love to pull footage from. I again requested to speak with a supervisor and was told again that they are in meetings and unavailable. Requested a copy of proof of pickup and have yet to receive this. At this point, cannot discourage this company enough!
Kate Kolb: I am a single employee business providing mental health counseling. I informed the salesman I spoke to that I would have very little shred and would just like a bin that could be picked up as needed when I call and that it would likely need to be picked up every 6 months. He had me sign the contract and said the every 4 weeks would be changed to as needed when it went on to the next person. That didn’t happen and the company refuses to let me out of the contract. I spoke to another employee who informed me she would change it and she never did. So disheartened. It feels abhorrent that I can inform them of their salesman’s false information and promises and they are still refusing to let me out of this contract.
Stephanie S: Extremely poor customer service. Have been scheduled for service and have had nobody show up. Then I call to reschedule and can’t get a hold of anyone. I have been back and forth for 3 months now and just went with another service who took my call and scheduled services 2 days after. Avoid Shred it at all costs

Denise Lincoln: This is the worst company ever! They have missed multiple pick ups and when you call costumer service they have no idea what is going on and can't help you with anything. I asked to speak with a supervisor they told me multiple times that they didn't have one to speak with me. I called 7 days in a row and was told everyday that someone would call me back the same day and that call never came.
Jessica Johnson: I wish I could give ZERO stars. I work in an office with a high volume of documents that need to be shredded. Shred it only shows up about 70% of the time when they are supposed to and when you call them, you will sit on hold for HOURS before someone tells you "there's nothing they can do and you will have to wait until your next scheduled pick up." On top of that, the most recent shred it representative who comes to our office is extremely rude, tries to make us lift our own very heavy bins because he doesn't want to (SERIOUSLY?!?), and flat out acts like he would rather be anywhere else doing anything else. This company is HORRIBLE.Edited to add:WHAT IS THE POINT of the business's reply below??? Myself or coworkers have spent LITERALLY HOURS being put on hold and transferred to other departments, sometimes being hung up on after waiting an hour... NOT ONE TIME has Shredit resolved the issue. Not ONCE. Their response has been EVERY SINGLE TIME, "sorry. I don't know what happened that your pick up was missed. We can't schedule another pickup. All we can tell you is that someone will be there for your next pick up." Ridiculous. Someone out there PLEASE start a reliable shred company.
Infinite Wellness: Most unprofessional company I've ever experienced. They don't show up on our scheduled days. Customer service people are nice but have no idea what's going on. They have charged us for pick ups they missed. We cancelled services almost two months ago and still no one has come to pick up the box. Every time we speak to someone they all say we will hear back in 1-2 business days, but of course we never do. Not sure what we're really supposed to do at this point we already have another service. At what point do you start a bonfire with the shred it box? And just wait in a couple days there will be an automated response to this review telling us to call their customer service number. LOL what a joke.
Mike Sedlak: Horrible Customer Service! Call and stuck on hold every time. Can't get on their online portal any longer. Added fees, rate has nearly doubled from original quoted price. Plus sales guy failed to mention you sign a 5 year contract! Read the other reviews. Everyone that has left a negative review, they respond asking you to contact them to discuss further, but no one answers the phone. Stay away - you have been warned!

Natalie Ortwerth: So disappointing. After having them miss multiple pick ups, and promising they would show today, after the day is mostly half over we called to ensure they are coming. I have been on hold for 58:26 minutes. If you think that is a worthy use of my time, it is not. Be very, very careful about signing any kind of agreement with them. We will be taking our business somewhere else. There is absolutely no customer service. I did get a human at the 47 minute point, only to be placed back on hold. For your own sake- stay far, far, far away.
Paul Staryak: Always miss date have not seen them in well over a month. Called they said they took us off route by mistake. Scheduled a new pick up for us on the 30th ( normal day is the 13th) never showed up. Been on hold for15 mins now. At this point I will just cancel monthly service and find a new company. Do not bother posting your customer service phone line. You never answer it.
Alexis Hamrick: ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!When our company originally signed up with Shred-it, the sales representative told us a great price, with great services and it has been nothing but terrible. They add fees and charges that should not be added. Be careful when signing a contract with them because they have a lot of hidden charges that are not included in your monthly price that you agreed with when meeting with their sales representative. They are quick to get you to sign a contract but when there is a charge issue or a service issue, they assign you a case manager (which they did with us) and they never get back with you. We have NUMEROUS phone calls and emails in with them sense January because of charges and fees we should not have been charged and we have YET to get a response. We are a small business in Wentzville, MO. BEWARE of this company and DO NOT sign a contract with them.
Tim Heydt: At one time the customer had access to the local office, the local scheduler etc. Now you go through a corporate exchange, where the service person knows nothing about the customer and it takes a few minutes to even identify who exactly you are. This results in a lot of wasted time and you end a phone call not exactly sure if you are getting what you need. This may be a profitable model and it's becoming the norm, that doesn't make it good service, this has become an irritating company to deal with.

Jim Bilderback: Horrible service ever since they were taken over by Stericycle. Does not send invoices until you owe a bunch and then threaten to turn you over to collections. Cancelling my account! It's been 4 weeks since I have requested my service cancelled and no one will come and pick up their boxes. I guess I will have to move them out to the alley by the dumpster.
