Peaceful Beginnings Midwifery: what do users think?
Erin Cato: I loved Jennifer she gave my great support with my home birth. I would not have been successful without her.
Brian Wulff: Jennifer did a fabulous job. Guided us and knew exactly what to do in even the surprise situations. She went above and beyond while not overextending into where we wouldn't want her to go. She always stayed calm and had a plan while encouraging and realistic. Most importantly she did her best to walk with us towards our goals.
Josh Weight, D.C.: I can't say enough good things about Jennifer and Barbara! They were very helpful with my wife's second pregnancy. The are both very knowledgeable, peaceful, and professional. We highly recommend Peaceful Beginnings Midwifery to anyone looking for an excellent home birth experience.

Verkley Midwifery, LLC: what do users think?
Airi & Nick Solanke: Elyana and her assistant Emma provided amazing services to my husband and I as we had our first baby via home water birth! They went above and beyond to make sure we were safe, comfortable (as possible), and fully aware of everything taking place around us. My birth team was perfect and I’m forever grateful for all they did to bring my baby Earth side safely. It wouldn’t have been such an amazing, rewarding experience without them.
Joni Owen: Everything about my delivery with Elyana was the best combination of beautiful, comfortable, and professional. She was so affirming and intentional to speak life over me and my unborn baby in my moments of fear during my prenatal visits. I can be a bit of a worrier and she patiently and thoroughly assuaged my fears at each appointment with not even a hint of condescension or judgement. She was incredibly attentive and every step of the way demonstrated her intuition and confidence in me, as well as her passion for responsive, holistic midwifery care! The communication with her birth assistant Emma was seamless and was another reason that my homebirth was so magical and sweet. Her professionalism, passion, compassion, intuition, calm, and knowledge base were invaluable as we welcomed my baby into the world, and I cannot say enough good things about my experience. She patiently and readily engaged my inquisitivej and precocious 6 year old daughter in the post- labor activities as well and we have such sweet memories of those moments just after baby's arrival- and now my daughters have such a tight bond that I feel I can partially attribute to Elyana's patient involvement of her in those crucial moments. Would absolutely recommend her!
atara luchansky: Elyana was at my last son's delivery and I couldn't have done it without her and the other midwife. Elyana was able to help me squat off and on to help me progress and deliver!
Kristyn Gerchalk: Elyana is a treasure to the midwifery community. She is patient, knowledgeable, wise beyond her years, and thorough in her practice. You will not find better client-centered, intimate, yet evidenced-based care anywhere. My pregnancy, birth, AND education have been enriched by her in infinite ways.
Mina Morgan: Elyana was amazing during the birth of my daughter! She was so kind, listened to all of my concerns, and made sure to inform me of everything that was happening. I'm so grateful she was there for us and I would 100% have her again for any future babies

Sacred Garden Midwifery - Missouri and Southern Illinois Homebirth and Lactation Services: what do users think?
Ronda Tannous: Barbara delivered our baby a few months ago. After working with Barbara through prenatal, postpartum, and labor, I would recommend Barbara for anyone looking through the homebirth process. She was so knowledgeable about all of our questions and was available when we needed her. She was kind, thoughtful, and it was obvious she knows so much about what she does. I had a pretty much flawless labor and I have to contribute so much of that to Barbara.
Jen West: I'm happy with the care I received through Barbara! Having her at our birth was invaluable and I felt respected and supported throughout the process. She also helped coach me through breastfeeding woes and helped us figure out a plan that works for our unique situation. I will recommend her to other expecting mamas!
Vidya Cowsik Santosh: I hired Barbara for an in-home lactation consult as FTM in Spring 2022. The most generous conclusion I can draw is that Barbara is harboring some unexamined racism. Women of color, steer clear. My newborn was struggling to latch and I was having trouble keeping up my milk supply, but was not able to get around well to go back to the hospital LC. Barbara came over and was very nice, but rather all over the place. She’s was very unspecific in her advice and only made notes after I insisted I needed them, as a sleep deprived person. She had no advice on supplementation or pumping and just parroted back what we said we were already doing. She seemed very out of her depth about how to support triple feeding a baby with weight gain problems, where the hardest part is time management. She also emphasized the need to address my son’s tongue tie.Her lack of guidance does not earn her one star. Things turned very dark the next morning. After she had been paid in full she had offered to be available on the phone. I called her in a state of complete confusion, unsure how on earth to balance triple feeding all day when even bottles were taking forever. I explained what I felt I needed (without at all saying that she needed to be the one to provide it) and she became very short and nasty with me. She said that I “sounded ungrateful” and that it sounded like I “wasn’t committed enough to breastfeeding”. This was a gut punch and other LCs have since told me how incredibly unethical it was for her to speak to a distressed post partum client with such disdain. I was vulnerable to her authority and experience, and she abused that position in a very hurtful way.I continued breastfeeding as long as possible in our situation despite Barbara’s discouragement and my baby learned to latch with absolutely no intervention needed on his tongue.
Ilaen Ellis: Where do I even begin?! I loved working with Barbara. As soon as I found out I was pregnant with baby no. 2, I started my search for a midwife for my home birth. I found Barbara through a friend and immediately knew she was the one I wanted to work with. She always made sure to make me feel comfortable during our visits and was open to anything I had to share. Feeling heard and and seen was very important to me. During the birthing process, I loved that she let me take the lead and let me go through the laboring and pushing stages however I was comfortable and felt empowered. She provided the birthing pool which was a huge plus. Which meant we didn’t have to purchase our own. Postpartum care was great! She always checked in with me and made the paperwork process easier. She was my number 1 encourager and cheerleader when it came to breastfeeding and made sure I was very well supported which played a huge role in my continuation and not giving up. I am so grateful for her. Baby ended up having a lip and tongue tie and Barbara quickly gave me all the info on where we needed to go and what we needed to do. If in 3-4 years we’re still in the area, I will choose to work with her again for our last baby.
Ashley Hollins: She is always a phone call or text away! She helped me before conception and works so closely with me now. She listens to my wants when it comes to little things. I love that a phone call will consist of medical care/treatment but always turns very personal about our lives, kids, jobs, all things personal. I’m truly looking forward to working with her more!
Nicole Kedzie: I have heard wonderful things about Barbara! It is wonderful that she is able to provide much needed homebirth services in such an undeserved part of our state.
