He couldn't even get the door open, roadside assistant finally showed up and opened it. Thankfully my medicine was on the floorboard of the car while the Aryan brotherhood tried to extort me, and an African American opened the door.

Keara Wright: I had a complicated key to copy that a hardware store wasn't able to do successfully. The guys at Krause went above and beyond to explain the cause of the difficulty and to make sure I got duplicates that actually worked. They made me two different versions and both worked great.

William Shirley (Bill): Had a bevy of keys that I wanted duplicated or created including a Guardian/Craftsman F21 cabinet key (a round key), and skeleton keys for an antique desk, an antique hall tree, and antique dresser. Jim duplicated the F21 key first try! The antique dresser - try this one, picking it off the wall - it worked. The other two required custom modification to stock skeleton keys and 2 1/2 weeks time but Krause Key & Lock got them made. 😀

Dick Hafner: This is one of the two oldest locksmiths in Saint Louis. I went in for two keys for my old Ford and they had them both for an extremely reasonable price of just $10. Keys were cut while I waited and started right up and opened the trunk. Definitely using them again.

Tom Noerper: These guys can make good copies of difficult keys, they can re-key several deadbolts to take the same key, they carry oversized strike plates, etc. etc. I don't go anywhere else for keys and locks. Prices are very reasonable.
Kompact “Gordon” Kites: I recently brought this company a dated safe that the keys were stolen from me for. The manufacturer no longer produced keys for this product and even after they let me know this was going to be a difficult task, Krause was very friendly, professional, and went above and beyond and got the job done. Any other company would have most likely turned me away, but they stepped up, got it done correctly, and at a very reasonable cost. I would highly recommend this company.

Donna L. McVey: Stopped one day to asked about getting handles and deadbolts for 4 doors for a rental unit all set to one key. He walked me through every detail, starting high with buying all new hardware and having them come out to install. I needed the full explanation to understand then how to whittle it down to cut costs. Explained how any lock could be set to a single key as long as it was all the same brand (in our case, a few of our existing locks were Kwikset, so we went with that brand). About a week later I was able to return with all the locks I wanted rekeyed - I dropped them off around 10am and they said they'd be done by the end of the day (5pm). Super pleased. Will go back to them next time I need help with locks!!

Samuel Killion: Locksmith came to my apartment promptly after a lockout, then told me he didn't know how to pick the lock without even attempting it offered to drill in and change the whole lock, then charged me for driving out. Complete waste of time and money. What kind of locksmith doesn't know how to pick a lock? This was a scam and I am still locked out.
