It worked for 2 days and the string broke again and it stopped working. Took back in and 3 weeks later they called and said it was shot!!! So I payed $70 for nothing and he made me pay. $20 deposit when I brought it back in after they just fixed it. They are dishonest and I would take your lawn equipment to the one in South county.

Very reasonable prices on used lawn mowers they service all of their used lawn mowers new oil new spark plug they also recommend what type of gas to use in them how long to leave it in there as well as a fresh air and oil filter and they also sharpen the blades I recommend them if you were in the market for a good used lawn mower.

Ms. C: I think about this place every yr when it's time to have my mower sharpen. I use to take my mower there for service and every yr after my mower would break down. After the 3rd time, I decided to take my mower to a shop closer. The service guy at the new shop told me my filter was missing. ElJay took my old filter out but didn't replace it with a new one. Everytime I went in the guy would tell me that I needed a new filter. I would pay the fee and the next year my mower would stall or cut off after several mowing. I would take my mower back and the guy would tell me again that I needed filter. After the 3rd year I said enough. I was paying for a filter every yr but ElJay was not putting a filter in. My mower haven't broken down since I stopped taking them to ElJay.

Bryant Williams: Against my better judgement, I bought my mower here for service at the advisement of my business partner. I requested routine maintenance…an oil change, blades sharpened, a wheel repair, and to fix a minor oil leak. Each time I received my mower back, it continued to leak oil. After 2 failed attempts to repair the leak, the mower then failed to start all together. Upon returning for the 4th time, they proceeded to tell me that the motor was failing due to low oil. I advised the service technician to check the service records as they had just changed the oil and repaired it 3 different times for the same leak. He then proceeded to tell me that I should be checking the oil on my mower before each lawn dismissing the fact that they never fixed the oil leaks (and probably never changed the oil), and that it was a “coincidence” that the mower failed after several by attempts by them to repair. To my great disappointment, the service technician became very rude, unprofessional, and essentially walked away mid conversation. I called to speak with the owner or a manager and they never answered the phone (after 9 attempts). Prior to this shop, we always patronized Milbrandt for our maintenance and repairs. Unfortunately, they are shut down thus how we ended up here. I would NOT recommend taking your equipment here for repair. Our company has not had both of our mowers at the same time all season because they have failed to successfully repair either one of them and we have to keep returning them. At this point I will just have to cut my losses. Please please do not take your lawn care equipment here for repairs as I highly question the skill and integrity of the mechanics they employ. Additionally, they don’t seem at all customer focused. I would highly recommend Art’s Or Harvester Small Engine Repair for your lawn care equipment maintenance and repair. As for myself, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and taking them to small claims court.

A carburetor for my mower only has 5 screws and takes maybe 15 minutes tops to replace! These people are racist and they are ripping off the African American community please shop elsewhere! If they treated people in the store the way they do in these comments, they would have no issues.

HSE had a great customer service attitude and quality repair performance and I can unequivocally state that this environment has continued with the “new” Saint Louis Equipment Team at St Charles.I recently (August) took my riding lawnmower there for a carburetor replacement (including fuel lines and filters) along with a tire change out. They were quick and efficient but more importantly, provided quality workmanship. After all, no matter the cost, if it doesn’t continue to run long after the repair, then it wasn’t done right.This is what you can expect from Saint Louis Equipment (STC), a Professional Team that wants and expects your return business so they are going to ensure that the repair is done right at a fair price.

When they picked it up we paid $75 and also on the receipt it says not to start on the lawnmower until we are told what is wrong with it. Melinda Schmidt: I was attempting to mow the lawn and noticed my gas mower was leaking gas and my dad was a few hours away and didn’t want to give him any trouble about fixing it so I called Southside Mower Repairs. I wasn’t sure what to expect and explained my issue to Frank and he said to bring it by and knew exactly what to do to fix it once he saw it. He got to work immediately and it was repaired within hours with a tuneup included in the repair. Tuneup was necessary after repair as oil and gas could have mixed with it being a carburetor issue. The mower ran great and I’m out at ease with a 30 day guarantee on the work provided. He is fairly priced, old school and knowledgeable. I will definitely support his business as long as he is around.

He did not ask them to see what was wrong with his mower. All he asked was for them to put a battery and new belts. They picked up the mower in March and he got it back todayMay 10, 2023. after he would not let them do what they wanted to do, the mower was returned damaged . When he did a follow up to see what was taking so long the guy stated they were trying to make money. We do what is right and it's nerve racking to see people trying to get over. This would not have been an issue if they just did what was asked of them. If they found something and he said not at this time that should have been good enough instead of trying to force someone to do what they wanted.If you take your equipment there rest assured they are going to try to get more money. Don't bother to go to management

I went in to pick up my lawnmower and I'm assuming the lady is who was working the front desk is somehow related to the owner in someway. When I get to the counter and put down my American express card she is like we don't take that lol. I said seriously. I said we'll try it and see if it works. And what do you know it worked. I told her the traffic was pretty bad coming out this way and looks like they doing a major over haul on roads. And she said we'll I'm working on the roads as fast I can. She said it pretty sarcastically. Which I'm from South city so Sarcasm Is like a second language to me. And for what I do for a living she told me I should fly over the construction next time. As I was signing the paperwork. She was very rude she needs to be better trained to work with customers. I'm sure it doesn't even matter me writing a review about my experience. I felt like they charge me about $40 dollars more then what I needed. This shop is also kinda in not so great area. Hope this review helps.

The main reason was because of the exceptional customer service provided to me by Mark B. He started out by helping me with a question I had with some of my current equipment even though it may not have ended in a purchase he was glad to share his knowledge. He also helped evaluate my current trimmer for repair, in the meantime because of his experience in the business he helped me pick out a new trimmer for my Home & Farm after listening to my Needs & Wants. My wife wanted some input into this purchase because she knew that there would be times that she would be using it. I was then told on Friday which was "echo day" that the saw I had set aside was not an "X series" which meant it did not qualify under the promo. After expressing my concern they decided to go ahead and honor the 15% discount that I had expected. Everyone I talked to there was friendly and professional. Kevin Hacker (Khacker): The folks here are polite and courteous. I needed my battery operated mower's blade sharpened for the summer. Although they do not work on battery or electric mowers they do excellent work on my Ego battery powered mower sharpening the blade. Support small businesses. They are the backbone of our city.

Mae Soule: Gas cap leak on perfectly fine running mower never resolved despite saying it was fixed. Now the mower won’t even stay running at all. Basically they charged me to break my mower.

Sean Platter: If I could give zero stars I would. The owner literally told me I have no idea what I'm talking about when trying to ask about a part. He cussed & yelled from the back & told his employee to tell me to "go buy the original part!". He said "I dont need any new business ". I will NEVER use them for anything. I suggest you all do the same.

Nick Pizzo: Absolute joke,. Brought lawn mower in the get drive cable and throttle cable fixed. Instead he stripped the handle bolt , then took spring off throttle, and told me to use my finger to start/run lawnmower. Paid $100 only had $50 in register to give me back. in way worse condition then when I dropped offDo not go here. People skills or customer service also horrible.

Christopher Miller: Excellent place to go. Fast friendly know what they are doing.

Debbie Redman: They did a great job fixing up my old beat up Toro! Runs so well now, and the sharpened blade makes quick work of mulching grass as you go.

Matt Stark: I really want to like this place. The guys are nice and seem well meaning, but I was frustrated with how it all ended. I dropped a kids ATV off for repair and felt pretty confident when I dropped it off that they knew what to do with it based upon our conversation. They'll tell you that there's no charge for bad news, which is great except I got my ATV back with a bag of parts that had been removed. It would have been fine if they couldn't solve the issue as long as I got it back in the same condition I had left it. Ultimately, I was left worse off. I had to drop it off with ATV shop where parts had to be ordered that were missing for them to even diagnose the issue.

Susan Johnson: Dunham has been servicing our riding & push mowers each spring for several years & we've never had a problem. They will pick up & drop off for a small fee & Ted is always very friendly. We wouldn't take our mowers (or buy from) anybody else!!!

ryan wagoner: This place ripped me off and I do not recommend them! I dropped my 1year old lawnmower off to have it serviced. The guy got it out of my truck, went inside and gave me a ticket. He said “ we’ll call ya when it’s ready”! Months went by and finally I called about it . He said they sold or used it for parts ! Our policy only allows us to hold something for 60 day”!! He said “ we have lawnmowers for sale and you could come in and get one”! So now I’m out a new lawnmower and I have to replace it. This place is an absolute scam! No one tells you anything about their policies and it’s done intentionally . DO NOT USE THEM!!

Seth Lindsey: Stopped in to look at some used mowers, and was cheerfully directed toward the half-dozen for sale. I told the saleswoman that I was looking for something my son could handle mowing a few lawns around the neighborhood. She pointed me toward a model that was very stout and capable. She was not pushy and had no problem when I suggested bringing him back to see if it would be manageable.

Seth Herter: I needed a battery charged for my 50cc scooter and he gladly did it for free. This guy seems kind and honest.

Thomas Delaney: I've been doing business with these people for several years now and have been very pleased with their professionalism and service working on my lawnmowers. I feel their pricing reflects today's marketplace. A seven year old negative review? Doesn't seem fair. Every time you drive by the shop it is packed with mowers being serviced and I would bet the majority are repeat customers. They've been there for years and they have a number of mechanics that all seem to know what they're doing. These are not signs of a cheating fly-by-night operation.
