North Broadway Jiu Jitsu: what do users think?
Erica Niemira: This is a well paced and brilliant place to practice the art of Jiu Jitsu. My children have attended for years now and they look forward to each class. Instructors are knowledgeable and patient. Highly recommended!
Fred 1975: Absolutely great instructors been taking the kiddo about a year and he loves it!
Jared Kumpfer: North Broadway Jiu Jitsu is the best gym in town. Great group of teammates. Bryan is an awesome instructor too.
Albers Road: A very tough school
Andrew Theel: Great place, great people, great instructors, and consistent.
Erik Leonoudakis: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Stuart Taylor: This gym is amazing. The coaches here are very knowledgeable, and the other members are very welcoming, and understanding when you are "the new guy/gal". Also equipped with a fitness center and sauna, as well as a large parking lot with overflow parking available. If you're looking for a place to learn BJJ, this is the place you are looking for.
cwyork21: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
tyler banks: Amazing gym...Bryan, Todd, Dan, Dave, Maurice-all the instructors awesome. There's plenty of players at all levels and classes from early in the morning through the evening every day. If you want to challenge yourself and improve mentally and physically give Bryan a call.
Patrick Crowley: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat place for my daughter to learn. She took to it right away and loves it. The instructors are knowledgeable and encouraging. Highly recommended.
Dan C: Amazing training. Positive, accepting, patient, not intimidating. I am having a lot of fun, getting stronger, and learning a lot.
Terrell Carter: My favorite place to exercise and learn self defense. Through Bryan's training, I eventually lost 20 lbs. The atmosphere is supportive, yet challenging.
Benjamin Pursley: I recently visited Bryan Guidry's gym as my first experience with BJJ. As a beginner, a skinny guy, and having recently turned 30 I had lots of reasons to potentially feel intimidated. The gym was exceptional, Dan the instructor of my classes, was positive and knowledgeable. The culture of the gym was great. The hot sauna is a nice extra. After my first month I was unable to train due to changes in my health insurance and work schedule. When I had issues with my billing, Bryan was quick to respond and to resolve the issue.I have nothing but positive things to say. If you can afford it, it's a fantastic place to learn. A+++
Megan Grantom: Great gym with friendly and patient coaches :) Dan, Bryan, Lee, and Maurice all do a great job teaching the different techniques and keeping things fun.
Aden Valento: Very welcoming for new members like myself with no Martial Arts background.Professor Dan is not only great at Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, but a great person as well.Everyone training is very helpful and welcoming.I was treated as if I had known them for years and were great friends. There’s cardio equipment, sauna, showers and more. They also offer kids classes.Doesn't matter your age or if you're out of shape or whatever excuse...I would highly recommend if you're interested in the path to becoming a better version of yourself.
John Meehan: Bryan is great as well as Dan and the rest of the coaches. Good mix of STL city. Very diverse gym, a number of law enforcement members train here as well. Very welcoming to new students, and a good mix of men and women. Definitely recommend to anyone. Not only jiu jitsu, but there’s cardio equipment, sauna, showers, anything you need to get a quick workout in.Also kids classes look fun. Definitely come visit!
Greg Crawford: Great place to train bjj. They have plenty of classes to fit into any schedule. Brian and all of the instructors are very friendly and helpful. There is a sauna and work out equipment as well to make this place a one stop shop for fitness. I'm glad I found this place.
Comedy Suplex: Great atmosphere for those new to jiu jitsu. North Broadway has a ton of classes with excellent teachers.
Matthew Song: Pretty much the awesomest gym ever.
Evelynn Waterbelly Johnson: Low student-teacher ratio. Welcoming atmosphere for men, women and children to learn in. Great pricing.
John Hansen: A member of Team Vaghi, a world leader in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Watson Martial Arts: what do users think?
Jacob Rich: I was visiting St. Louis and dropped into a couple classes at Watson Martial Arts. Everyone was very kind to me and their fellow teammates. Not only is the gym enormous, full of amenities and very clean, but the instruction here is unmatched. I enjoyed the gamification of learning and personalized approach to gaining new skills. If I lived in within an hour of St. Louis it would be a no brainer to train here.
James Randorff: I was visiting St. Louis on business (coming from North Chicago), and I asked my coach if he had a gym recommendation in the area. Without hesitation, he recommended Kyle Watson’s gym. I got in touch with Kyle, and he invited me to join in any of their classes while I was in town, without requiring a mat fee.The gym facilities are very nice and kept clean. The culture of the coaches and students is very healthy and respectful, with no egos at all. Everyone is there to learn, to help, and to have fun.I attended two classes and learned a lot I did not know about collar-and-sleeve open guard. I got to train and roll with quite a few excellent folks, and picked up several good tips from Kyle as he walked around the gym.If you are ever in St. Louis and looking for a place to train, I give Watson Martial Arts my highest recommendation!
lucas wilcox: Dropped in for a advanced BJJ class while I was in town. Very friendly staff and students. Great instruction!
Lauren Clark: Great gym with great ownership. Highly recommend
Rich Sholar: 👐
David Smith: I was visiting St. Louis from Vancouver and looking for a place to train while I was in town. Kyle and the team at Watson couldn't have been better hosts. They have built a fantastic gym and culture and I would absolutely recommend Watson to anyone regardless of skill level.
Kody Flamm: I joined the free Muay Thai lesson yesterday and wow - what a great experience. Kyle was extremely nice & helpful. To say it was a great workout is an understatement! I’d highly recommend this gym - this is such a great place to be introduced to the huge world of martial arts. You will not regret learning these valuable lessons and you get a great sense of accomplishment when you’re done. I’ll be trying out BJJ next week and I cant wait. Props to everybody involved! Very beginner friendly gym.
Tj Muncy: While traveling to the area from Florida I was able to drop in for a class while in town. Friendly group of people and nice facilities. Great instructor’s, nice details while teaching and very helpful. I had a great experience. Thanks Kyle for letting drop in.
Ali Boussaffa: I was in business trip to St. Louis and picked Watson Material Arts gym to work out during my stay. I was impressed by the hospitality of Kyle who welcomed me and give a tour, everything was clean an organised, coaches very knowledgeable, very professional staff. I highly recommend Watson MMA.
Jason Stewart: Great people very welcoming a wealth of knowledge on that mat I appreciated the time
Charles Harriott: I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful facility in St Louis as a guest instructor and was not disappointed. Owner Kyle Watson has built a massive professional gym. From striking to fitness to grappling it's all under one roof in a laid-back environment. His students are fun and welcoming. There are all levels from beginner to expert with a large number of black belts on the mat. I enjoyed my visit especially my roll with Kyle and hope to be back soon.
Gerard Albo: Visiting St Louis for work and was honored to train with Professor Matt! Awesome gym, great vibes, great training, highly recommended!! Thanks again for having me 🙏
Lucas Mooney: My friends and I dropped in for a no gi class about two weeks ago while on a road trip. The facility was amazing and the instructor was welcoming and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this gym for anyone in the St.Louis area!
Vincent Harvey: Dropped in for a midday class. Good facility (lots of mat space, showers) and great instruction details. Will come back next time I'm in town
jeremy fernandez: If you want to learn jiu-jitsu in the St Louis area this is the place for you. The instruction is always very well thought out with a healthy balance of technique and dad jokes. Everyone in the room is very helpful and welcoming whether you're brand new or have been training for years.
Praveen Prabhakar: Been training here for about 4 months now. The facility and the instructors are great. Everybody is very friendly. They have beginner classes as well so it's easier to learn the basics. One of the best places to train and learn in St. Louis.
ELIAS HADDAD: Cool dudes
Josh Raben: Great people, with a welcoming team atmosphere, and some tough rolls. For any new comers there's a beginners class so don't be worried about coming in!
Leonard Johnson: Been here going on 3 years: Great atmosphere, great training partners, great training, great coaches. Definitely worth checking out.
Alets Gomez: I was on a work trip in St Louis and had a tournament a week later and did not want to miss any training sessions, so I called WMA and spoke to Kyle, he was great from the start, I arrived there and everyone was awesome, from Kyle, to Devlin, and all of the training partners, there is definitely great level in the Gym and everyone is willing to help. Whenever I'm back in St Louis will definitely return to WMA. Btw Thanks Kyle for the support!!
Guille J: I have been a part of Watson’s martial arts for about two months now. It is such a welcoming and encouraging environment. My favorite thing about the studio is the great amount of different classes available. You can come and stay there all afternoon if you would like! Professor Kyle takes his time to personally get to know every student and it is clear that he is very knowledgable in martial arts. Other students are also very friendly and I have never encountered any issues. If you are thinking about trying it out: Stop thinking about it and come check it out!

Finney's St. Louis MMA, Kickboxing, Boxing and Jiu-Jitsu: what do users think?
Jordan Beck: WHAT A JOKE AND SCAM!!!!! I DID NOT WANT TO ENTER A CONTRACT SO I DID THE MONTH BY MONTH OPTION THE MOST EXPENSIVE WAY TO GO! $280.00 FOR THE MONTH! I ONLY WENT FOR A MONTH AND DID NOT RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP ON THE 26TH THE FOLLOWING MONTH! 2 MONTHS HAS GONE BY AND NO CHARGE HAS BEEN FILED TO MY ACCOUNT BUT NOW RANDOMLY ON THE 2ND OF JUNE THEY STOLE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT! WHEN I CONTACTED THEM, THEY GAVE ME A CORPORATE EMAIL, I AM NOW STUCK DISPUTING THE CHARGES WITH MY BANK AND GOING TO HAVE TO GO INTO A LEGAL BATTLE TO GET MY MONEY BACK AND CHANGE MY CARD NUMBERS BECAUSE THEY ARE DIRECTLY TRYING TO STEAL FROM ME MONTHS AFTER I ENDED MY TIME THERE WHEN I SPECIFICALLY PAID MORE MONEY TO NOT BE COMMITTED TO A CONTRACT BECAUSE I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THIS EXACT THING!!!
Nate Prince: Great gym, very respectful martial arts culture, and super nice people!
Nelly Rosales: I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Kelly ! She is so welcoming , hard working and smiling all the time . Each and everyone there is awesome . Coach’s and staff are the best !
Kyle P.: I have nothing but great things to say about Finney's. My entire family are members and attend the various classes they have to offer; kids MMA, teen BJJ, adult boxing/kickboxing, and adult BJJ. The gym has provided an amazing outlet for my family and my children have really thrived since we started going; both inside and outside of the gym.The instructors / coaches are all very professional and have a tough but supportive approach to their classes; you definitely are going to get a workout. As far as other reviews complaining about the contract and "fine print"... it's nothing like that. They explain very clearly the different options, what is available, and what the cost is going to be and the duration. Ask questions... what is it going to cost per month and for how long? Know without a doubt what you are signing up for, pretty simple.Again, Finney's has been great... The gym and all the people involved, from the staff, coaches, to the other members and parents are a tight community... and has become like an extended family to ours. You and especially the kids will get out of it what you put into it.
Lori Schellhase: Fantastic atmosphere with great trainers! My son is in MMA and absolutely loves it!
Vick Alanis: This place is a Scam. It’s dirty! They never clean the mats! They had a inexperienced white belt teaching the BJJ kids class with no supervision. They never have soap in the bathroom to wash your hands. It’s really easy to get into a contract but they make it difficult to get out of it. Read the fine print if you are going to sign on the dotted line. Do not let the staff fill the contract out for you. Make sure you understand that they will do whatever they can to keep you on the hook for monthly payments.
SwagDtrain357: Unless you want to get sued avoid this place.
Linda Summers: The staff at Finney's is truly top notch. Kelly at the front desk is a wonderful administrator and her personality is welcoming to all. The martial arts instructors and trainers are professional, competent, and motivating. I look forward everyday to always attending the boxing sessions. I know I am a better person and athlete because of my participation with the boxing/martial arts staff. I appreciate their dedication, hard work, knowledge, and professional approach. They bring the best our of me.Dr. Dale Summers
Ben Allen: Great local gym with a homey-feel. Staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome every time you visit. They have something for everyone, including MMA Kick-boxing style classes, an outdoor fitness area, and a weight room that rarely ever gets crowded. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone no matter what level of fitness they are at.
Joe Mccreary: Very serious gym, instructors range from martial arts to body building to geriatric problems. All ages are considered and accommodated. Very profisional.
Jaurice H: When it comes to cancelling a membership with this company they will give you the run arounds and not allow you to cancel what so ever. It's been almost a year and now they're sending a Lawfirm after me for a membership I tried to cancel over 3 months and I only had it for a week no longer than two. Why attempt to take money that a person doesn't even have in their account? If the account says zero you can't get $200 or whatever from it duh. Also nobody ever wears their masks and it's way too crowded.
Amanda Townes: Awesome place to work out! The trainers are amazing, push you to the fullest, and I’ve also built great friendships here! Totally recommend! Staff are great! Kelly is so nice to talk to and is very personable!
Jami Strader: Awesome place!
Jack McCarthy: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueLoved working out here. Switched gyms because I moved and really will miss this place. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The group classes are awesome too. If you're looking for a great local gym, this is the place for you!
MJ Grimaldo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThis place is AWESOME! I always get greeted with a warm welcome by the amazing staff in the front, along with well-informed answers for any questions I have. Great customer service and even better employees. I have recommended this place to many friends and family that have also enjoyed this Finney's. Keep on keepin' on.
SSF: Great workout environment. Doesn’t ever seem to get over crowded when I go to workout which is great if you like your personal space like me. Staff is very friendly and helpful, facility is clean. The personal trainers are very knowledgeable and make quality programs for their clients.Top notch place.
Jeff: Critical:Communication,ProfessionalismTHIS REVIEW WILL REMAIN AT 1 STAR UNTIL THEY LET ME OUT OF MY CONTRACT. I WAS MISLED INTO THINKING CANCELLING WAS POSSIBLE/EASY. CANCEL MY DAMN MEMBERSHIP WITHOUT ANY COLLECTIONS/FEES AND JUST BE HUMAN ABOUT THE FACT THAT PEOPLE NEED TO QUIT SOMETIMES.
Theresa “Tree” Rosselot: My 8 year old daughter takes boxing here. Great instructors..nice balance of male/female ratio in her class
Jeff Pursifull: Coaches were really rude especially Aron. He didn’t want to help me and kicked me out of mma class because I wasn’t really good at striking. Then he also said no their gyms will take me because I duck at fighting
Vita Hirkic: I was really interested in possibly signing up as I been looking at a few places, but thankfully I looked at the reviews. Too many negative reviews implying the same thing.
durron watson: Don’t waste your time please! I went for a “FREE TRAIL” class they had back in March (end up costing me nearly $2,000) Afterwards I was then pressured into joining the gym which I end up just telling the lady I’ll come back tomorrow which is why I never went back! Come to find out she forged a bank account onto the original application and kept it as well after me calling saying I wasn’t interested anymore!

Glenn Bailey: I was a little nervous getting into this, but the professors here are awesome ! Everybody here makes you feel like you belong. I ll be coming back for a long time to come.
Richard Partney: Great classes, coaches are awesome and everyone was very welcoming
Sarah Heck: Coach Kyle and Coach Alyssa are absolutely amazing! They truly have a gift with kids. They are firm yet loving and patient. They do an incredible job instilling confidence, teaching a skill set that carries over beyond the classroom walls. They make class exciting and always make my son feel special. It’s an incredible place - do your child a favor and sign them up - also a useful course on anti-bullying which teaches really solid conflict solving skills.
Rob Westervelt: Great teachers, great values, and great atmosphere. A wonderful place to have our kids learn Jiu-Jitsu, self-defense, and bully defense training. I highly recommend it!
Jeffrey Chiu: Superb training with some phenomenal people! Professor Kyle was a joy to learn from. Super detailed and attentive!
F F: My son has been training at Gracie Barra Chesterfield since its grand opening in March this year. Professor Kyle and Coach Alyssa are both excellent teachers and great with kids. Compared to other martial arts, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is more practical in the sense that it teaches kids how to deal with bullies at school and stand up for themselves both physically and mentally.
Steve Beck: Had my first lesson Monday night. Everyone was very welcoming and encouraging. The Instructor, Kyle was excellent at teaching the techniques. I’m 66 years old and really enjoyed myself. If you’re looking for a great workout with lasting value for your life, you should check this out.
Adam: Coach Alyssa is an incredible asset to this organization. She made my son feel super confident during his free trial class. We signed up day of!
Anthony Luecke: I’d highly recommend training here! Clean and friendly environment, top tier instructors, and a great place to learn jiu jitsu.
Tommy Burnham: My son is really enjoying the classes and he can tell he is getting stronger. He does it with a friend which makes it even more fun
Cheryl B: My daughter has enjoyed learning here and is becoming more confident with self defense.
finster909: I just started training at the Chesterfield location and have no regrets. The instructors are top notch, patient and supportive of new students. I take the training very seriously, but still have fun and enjoy the classes and the camaraderie with everyone. Getting a great workout is an added bonus to the effective skills you will learn. Joining Gracie Barra was a decision I am so thankful I made.
Cheryl Putney: My son started here and absolutely LOVES this school. Would recommend them to anyone!!!
Phil B: Had a great time at my first class. I was nervous to walk into something I know nothing about. The instructor and students were all very welcoming. Great atmosphere and great training.
Chase Aplin: I’ve only been to a few classes but I’ve already gotten so much out of them. Professor Kyle and the coaches do a great job pacing the classes so advanced students can excel and begin to master techniques while newer people have dedicated help and slow breakdowns of how to perform the techniques we are taught.
Obstacles 2199: Kyle and Alyssa are great at teaching/helping/answering questions during practices. Wish I could do more than this summer, will definitely continue to learn jiu jitsu after this

BJJ Lifestyle Academy: what do users think?
Kenny Matt: Great gym for any level of Jiu-Jitsu experience. Coach Mike is a superb coach and leader, and the team there is very welcoming and helpful. I would recommend no other gym!
James K: I've been attending coach Mikes academy for over a year now. The leadership is amazing, training will push your limits, and there are time slots accommodating nearly everyone. The friendship bonds you will gain thru Lifestyle BJJ will last a lifetime. Highly recommend giving it a try. Don't forget, the hardest belt to earn is the white belt.
200kk: I grow up at this gym for almost 2 years great gym. Once I decided to leave to better my career my coach basically disowned me. The gym is like high schools you have 2 face people and favoritism. As I left just a lot of negativity feed about me that came from people that I thought was friends and family. Join but watch out for they inner circle.
billy parnell: I visited the facility and rolled with the gentleman there... Despite what the owner state's... I am an adult with autism who faced bullying inside their gym...
G R: I have been training at the BJJ Lifestyle for about 2 years now. I had done my research and looked into other schools before joining and yet I kept hearing this school would be the best option. Right away on my first day of joining, everyone was very welcoming & I quickly realized that Coach Mike is a great instructor who cares about his students and is dedicated to teaching us the art of jiu jitsu. His past competitions & many years of experience prove that he is teaching high quality & efficient techniques. Whether you're simply looking to get in shape or want to be a serious competitor, look no further. 5/5.
Ralph Hernandez, III: Stopped in to train while in town on business. Mike Rethmeyer was welcoming and generous in sharing his knowledge with me, a complete stranger, and answered any and all questions throughout the session. The gym/mats were clean, and the roster was stacked deep with killers of whom were also hospitable and kind. Not big into cross training at other BJJ gyms, but definitely making the trip back out to BJJ Lifestyle Academy.
Kyle Haegele: If you want to be surrounded by positive, hard working, supportive individuals that obtain an immense amount of knowledge about Jiu-Jitsu then this is the place for you.Mike is a fantastic coach that motivates you to want better for yourself mentally, physically and most importantly for Jiu-Jitsu. I highly recommend you try it out experienced or not.
Garrett Hill: I was in STL doing some training for work and was able to stop in and train. I can tell you everybody in there including the instructor was more than welcoming and very respectful. As a black belt I appreciate that cause you never no how you might be received. It was outstanding training and class format with a lot of tough rolls. If you are in the area I highly recommend it!
kody s: Joining BJJ lifestyle Academy was one of the greatest decisions I've made. I grew up doing various martial arts and all of those felt very watered down to me. When I started becoming interested in BJJ I did my research and looked around. I tried a few schools out and this one felt like the real deal. The coach was a high level competitor with real certificates and medals, and when did my trial the way he taught made me feel like he really cared about Jiu Jitsu and the improvement of his students. This was different than every other school. I have been training 2 years now and will never look back. Cant recommend this place enough.
Irmyca Rescuer: Love it
Taylor Sheeley: High level BJJ instructor and very friendly environment. Could not recommend this place enough.
Korre Hill: The open mat session I attended today was very eye opening. Which should be your experience with every Brazilian Ju-jutsu session. All the practionerrs were very helpful and gave insightful tips and lessons. The gym was clean and a fun learning experience. I highly recommend this Dojo!!
Mark Meredith: I just took my 5 year old here yesterday to the kid's class to introduce him to jiu jitsu. Mike commands the class very well, and expects the kids and parents to be respectful. I was really impressed by some of the older kids and the techniques they already knew. They have been well taught. If you are looking for a place for your child to goof around and be told how great they are, this probably isn't the place for you.
Keith Lynn: BJJ LIFESTYLE Academy is one of the best Jiujitsu gyms out there. I am a Navy veteran and BJJ LIFESTYLE Academy save my life. I deal with PTSD, I contacted Coach Mike he gave me a free week. It was the best thing that I could ever have started. I am now a purple belt under Coach Mike. BJJ LIFESTYLE has an incredible kids program, Has an incredible beginners program, it also has and amazing competition class and a great class for all levels from beginning to advance. If you are looking for a gym to start off or a gym to continue your jujitsu path I would highly recommend reaching out trying out a class and joining BJJ LIFESTYLE Academy.
Danielle Lamb: 5/5 stars. The coach and staff are amazing and professional. Highly recommend.
Xander Moreno: Was a great gym to roll at i have rolled in a couple different gyms but this one has got to be one of my favorites great teacher and lessons with a good roll afterwards
Mike Stone: I did the first week amazing everyone was accepting and helpful and friendly definitely going back thank u
Lance Fister: As a lifelong wrestler, I have always been interested in jiu jitsu. Naturally, I did my research to find the best dojo in the area and ended up at BJJ Lifestyle Academy. It didn’t take long for me to feel that I was part of a tight knit family driven towards self improvement, not only in the sport but in all areas of my life. Great, ego free atmosphere for all ages and walks of life to learn and grow in the art of jiu jitsu. Highly recommend.
Nicklas Hartman: Great facility with a world class instructor and great group of training partners. I highly recommend this place!
Carter Twitty: Mike is a wondeful teacher. He takes his time to explain drills thoroughly and gives his students time to drill each move untill they can achieve it. For a white belt like me, it can be intimidating to visit other schools when traveling. But I'd recommend BJJ Lifestyle Academy to anyone living in the St. Louis or just visiting.
djpome932: Recently been going through a tough time with stress of sick father and personal things in my life. This place has brought me peace and love. All the people are great. Coach mike is a no nonsense guy that helps not only in martial arts but bettering yourself. Affordable and great for the mind body and soul. Vick
