Holly Breuer: The Haegele team planned and landscaped a beautiful area of my yard. Their ideas were fantastic, including a change on the fly to fix water drainage that turned into a beautiful dry river bed that I put a bridge over and get constant compliments on! And my truly favorite part was their team. Really helpful and insanely hard working, but when I'd look in my yard to see how things were progressing, they were laughing and talking and generally enjoying their work. I loved it! What a great group! We have some more projects we're wanting to do and we'll definitely be asking Haegele to help us again!!

Kristen Wolfin: The live flowers were beautiful and they had a lot to select from HOWEVER they are in a very heavily cemetery populated area and it almost feels like they take advantage of that situation. I stopped to get a few things for my father and uncles stone there and was SHOCKED by the price of their artificial arrangement. For a SMALL bouquet you can get at Walmart for 5-10 your paying almost 20 bucks . If you want the stand , it's 25 total . There is a dollar tree down the street you can buy artificial arrangements, windmills , flags , hummingbird feeders , etc. For 1.25 each, Which worked perfectly for me since the cemetery does arranged clean ups and everything eventually gets thrown away.
Lee Gomes: I moved to the area recently and had to leave all my plants behind. I happened to drive by Fendler's and everything was so pretty and colorful, I pulled right in. I was immediately greeted in the parking lot by a gentleman asking if I desired any help...which I did! I explained that I have a notorious black thumb and I was expertly guided to easy care/hard to kill plants. One of the things I purchased was a plant box that I wasn't sure would fit in my planter. I was assured that return or exchange would be no problem which turned out to be absolutely true because box was too large and I returned a few days later to return it and found the nursery looking almost completely different in a new riot of color and an impressive selection of herbs. So instead of a return, I exchanged the plant box for a beautiful (hard to kill) hanging flower basket. Another thing I found special about Fendler's was an impressive selection of succulent plants as well as large selection of unique decorative planters. Everyone at Fendler's was extremely friendly and helpful and it's really a pleasant experience to shop there.Update 4/14/23 Not much has changed at Fendler's! I stopped in today and it was again a spring riot of color! They were quite busy at 3:30 in the afternoon, yet I was greeted and helped immediately. I had stopped in a couple of weeks ago looking for a particular plant, and there weren't any available but when I stopped in today they had exactly what I was looking for! It's not a huge nursery but somehow they have a huge selection. It is always a pleasure to shop at Fendler's!
Ty Igert: Had an amazing time her early this spring. Went for a cactus, left with a lot more! Like our variegated dogwood and GIANT elephant ear bulbs. Every single person stopped to talk to us to offer help and joke around a bit. Can't wait to go back!

I went in and no questions asked, they had a new one for me (I did have to pay half price) and delivered the very same day ($60). H Wood: I took advantage of Sugar Creek’s home landscape design service… and was VERY impressed! One of their designer’s named Nancy came to my house and spent an hour with me looking all over my garden beds. She was so nice and had a flood of good ideas! She took copious notes, pictures and measurements. She asked me my favorite colors and plants. She wanted my input! I got a full email detailing all my plants, how many plants to buy, designs and ideas. It was brilliant. And I feel like it was a STEAL at $100… most places I checked start at $250.

It unfortunate she helps every customer cash out because the rest of the staff is very friendly, hardworking, and helpful while she sits behind her register being rude to customers spending $$ at the nursery. Never had a harder time trying to spend my money somewhere.

Danie C.: I’m sure there’s great plants but, after all these reviews and the phone call I just had, how is that older woman still working there? Completely condescending and rude. All I did was ask questions. She kept trying to hang up on me. It’s clear she doesn’t want to work here.
Lauren: They cut through our irrigation line, said they would pay for the repair, provided an email to send the bill, and when we did so, Cindy, the owner, called me sounding angry saying they won't pay for it, and they never said they would pay for it. I had sprinkler heads marked and talked to the planter about this particular area before digging. I did that on my own without Hartke asking me to do so since it is what I have done multiple times before for many other plantings, stump grindings, etc. We have never had an issue. She said I should have had every underground irrigation line marked which our irrigation company said is not done and not really possible. They also had a hiccup with asking Digrite to mark the wrong side of the yard saying they are not familiar with the online forms since the person who used to do that portion no longer works there. They offered to plant without Digrite marking utilities, but I declined. The repair cost of the irrigation line is quite small compared to the amount we paid for plants/planting. It is how I was spoken to that I give this low rating and suggest looking elsewhere for planting.
Jyoti Behura: We felt completely unwelcome. The old lady behind the counter made a frowning face as I approached her to ask a couple of questions and made it clear that we were not desired customers. I can't think of anything that provoked such a reaction except that the color of our skin was different from hers. I am glad my toddlers weren't there to see this.

They were a little busy, but we selected a tree, which they quickly bundled up, cut the bottom and affixed the stand. They tied it to the top of our SUV and it was very secure. During that time, they loaded up some firewood for us and we scored a plant inside while paying for everything. AND free mulled cider and cookies. The whole thing took less than 20 minutes and I couldn't have been happier with the service and product.

Carondelet Kitchen: What a hidden gem is this urban nursery in the CWE? Beautiful plants, lovely gift shop and a gorgeous bistro by restaurateur Niche. Great selection of annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs as well as trees and shrubs. A place we return to often.

Gennie Palmer: Dined on April 4th. I enjoyed the decor and ambiance of Bowood. The windows are beautiful and the attached plant nursery and farm across the street make this a very unique location in STL. The dinner service, quality of the food, and the drinks were all above average. I had high expectations as it is owned by Niche and my expectations were mostly met. The staff were very polite and attentive. However, the waiter we had might have been training and he was not as knowledgeable about the wine list as he should have been. He could not make a recommendation for wine with my meal & he seemed nervous because of it. Also, when I asked about Bowood Farm and the sourcing of different ingredients he was not able to speak about it much. He did say in general Bowood sources as much as they can from their farm and try to keep any outsourcing of other ingredients local. I think maybe a little more training for new waiters/waitresses will help. The waiters at Brasserie are always so knowledgeable it was a bit off that it was not the same at Bowood. I will definitely be returning soon and was happy with the overall experience.

C.S.: Used this company to remove old landscaping. Detailed bid included grinding stumps. On the day of the job, no stump grinder was used. Was left with a mess below dirt level. No supervision from the owner.

Darius Young: I spent nearly $500.00 with this shop between spring and fall. Made some wonderful arrangements and all. Friendly or so I thought. However, 5 small plants dried out and died right away within a day once I got them home. I bought them back and she started telling me I let them dry out and she wouldn’t replace them. I then mentioned how much I had spent and she instantly got an attitude and said she saw where this was going and to go ahead and get replacements. I simply left her with the dead flowers and told her I would not be purchasing here again. Took pics and departed. There are so many other nurseries in this metro area that are far better than this corner establishment. Best wishes to you all with this kind of customer service.

Steve Tucker: Great place for all your flowers, been going there for years to get their Calibrachoa hanging baskets and all our other flowers. We get about 10 baskets every year they always laugh because we line them up on the ground to see how the colors look mixed next to each other. Love the service and people always friendly.

Will Scott: Wow so politics has invaded Google maps reviews. Okay; I'm a Democrat and I wear masks. I purchased plants here over the summer and no the lady wasn't wearing a mask. I think she's wrong but I don't hate her. Over the years I've made numerous purchases here; I appreciate their knowledge and they definitely take good care of their inventory so by the time I bring it home it is healthy and ready to plant. I've decided to add a pin oak to my yard so I'll be heading there soon to pick one out. I like this nursery; I'm glad to have such a place near Fenton.
Mamasita1967 Limon/Rodriguez: Horrible experience wasted my time, no masks on. I was looking for a local nursery to do extensive landscaping with, this place had nothing. It looks horrible run down and uninviting.Owner was not welcoming I had to greet her instead of her greeting me.

Tony Zebrowski: Great customer sercice. I try to make it out here every once and a while because the service is usually so good. The sod is laid out so it looks really good when installed. Plants in shade of trees all still look really good even late in thd season.
