DIY'er: American Eagle used to be a decent value, but as of 2023, they are horrible. They increased prices by 56% at the first of the year, and have now started picking through the trash for anything that they somehow think shouldn't be taken and putting it back in the trash bin. It's trash people. I'm not putting hazardous waste in there. I know, because I've worked at companies where I was responsible for making sure the waste was properly classified and disposed of. Non-hazardous waste all goes to the same place, but they seem to want to treat trash like cable service and bill separately for every little thing. The last straw was they tried to bill me for an extra pick-up for a bulky item that they didn't do. When I called to rectify it, they said I had tried to hide pieces of a vanity under my trash in my trash bin. I didn't try to hide anything. It's trash. I broke it up and put it in my trash bin. In fact, I spread it out over multiple weeks to make sure the bin was not too heavy with the other stuff I had in it. There was no extra work involved, and I didn't even use all of the allowable bins that I'm allowed. The customer service person I spoke to said I'd have to talk to the owner, who was busy, but would call back. He did the next day, and what a jerk. He said they only pick up household trash. When I responded that it came out of my house and was trash, he said "well, you can't eat it, so it's not household trash." If that's the definition of household trash, that you can eat it, I guess we're all doing it wrong. He was very beligerant, and said if I want to start my own trash company, I can run it the way I want, and I should call someone else to pick up my trash. I have one week left in the biling period that I've already paid, and I abolutely will call someone else. They may be the cheapest around, but not worth the headache. They say you can put out up to 3 cans, but they want to nit-pick what they'll take and what they won't. I would recommend going elsewhere.Service:Trash removal disposal

I am currently remodelling the place but I was able to catch them this morning, when I asked why they didn't take it, none of them would respond. My taxes are being paid for this useless company to do nothing and there isn't a thing I can do about it. Absolutely unacceptable, find another company for your needs!

My 14 yr old is responsible for getting the dumpsters to the end of the driveway and there have been a couple of times he's forgotten and the driver was kind of enough to grab our cans from the side of the house to dump them. We are surrounded by woods and are frequently visited by raccoons so we keep our bin lids strapped down but sometimes, the trash pandas break through and trash gets scattered around the ground. The drivers go out of their way to clean up what's left behind. Missed more than 65% of yard waste pickups through the summer, when I asked for it (yard waste) to be canceled via phone in late-July, I was advised the service was removed (for YOU RS; this is why no yard waste has been left out for months). When I inquired again (via email) there was no response). I advised again and was advised (paraphrasing) is show you canceled the service online on X date (which was done due to the CSR’s inability to perform their job). Avoid them if possible.

I just checked my old account to see where my refund was and they credited it to an account I’ll never use again. When you talk to people they are super nice but it’s always a 30min hold. Not only do I have my trash bins out on the pickup date but 24/7, the lid is completely closed as they request and yet I am always skipped unless I call and report it. I have utilized the website to report missed trash pickups, and my reports are never taken care of. Both my partner and I work the same business hours as Republic Services so it is extremely difficult for us to take time out of our day to call, when we call during our lunch breaks, the hold times are too long, which means we need to take unpaid time from our job just to call. This week alone we called 3 times, and what did customer service do? They said they had “notated our account” and that we would have to call and report this every time it happened. How is this fair? Not getting a service we’re paying for and on top of that, request time off from work just to call each and very week.

Supposedly there is always a truck in the way and Republic claims to have pictures to show but never produces them. So they have a company they subcontract to come by and pick-up/deliver extras to residents. Today they took all my garbage bins and recycle and I told them we need the bins but the guy told me all he can do is request them to come back out and that they only schedule their drivers in certain areas. It is that company’s mistake so they need to be back out asap or I will be bringing all my trash to a Republic Service location. Wish they just had their own service trucks or drive up area so I could get my 1 garbage bin and 1 recycle bin myself.Also, they need to allow for more yard waste bags to be picked up and/or delivered to their facility. Jim Walker: Very easy to get to. Right off exit 201A to the East. Pull in and hop on the scale. Talk to the people and then pull off to the left and back into a dock. Loads are heavy and as you can guess it's trash. That being said, the place is fairly clean for a recycling place. Where I was there the docks were easy to get into. The guy running the scale was nice and helpful. It's over all not a bad place I just hate hauling garbage in my trailer. Mainly because it's heavy, cheap and they never clean their mess up when done. By "they" I mean the receiver not this shipper.
