John Beharry: Past reviews mention the great hot food. I was there 1130 on a Friday so maybe the day matters, but the trays were empty with exception of hot but pre-packaged chicken pieces. Also lots of bare space on many shelves, but very clean and extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Jamal Jeter: Wish I could put NO stars. Not sure who manages this store but they need to come visit. Employees pick and choose when they come to work. They supposed to close at 9pm they might close at 8:40pm or you might get lucky ant they close at 8:50pm. Today they didn’t even show up at all…couldn’t have been for the roads … they clear as hell. Need new employees who work the full hours and not lock the door during the day when other folks call out.
Aubrey Anderson: Food deserts are not things to be trifled with. I am happy there is a place where people can get essentials (milk, diapers, baby formula, snacks) in a convenient manner. It is also nice for out of towners who need items they forgot at home on their kitchen counters 😁 I have never seen a DGX before so I was quite excited!I went in while staying nearby. We were told by the associates to use self checkout, but the register we were asked to use was showing "register closed" on the screen. Upon loading, there was a scanned item already, showing we were buying something we weren't, but it was thankfully errored out to counteract the charge. We were able to get in, get our items we needed, and get out in a timely manner.
Cody Badgwell: 9/10, this place hits the mark. But on days like today when people do their shopping to get prepared for the week only to find the doors locked at 11:30am, it really becomes an inconvenience. If there’s a system error or the staff needs to use the restroom, that’s understandable. But at least leave a sign on the door.
Katie Ent: The manager open up when she gets ready. She usually close on Sundays. How come she gets to open the store when she see fit. Just left there it’s 11:25 AM Sunday and the store is close. The store never open when it’s supposed to be open and never close on time and always close at 6 PM every day when the door clearly says 9 PM I think that the corporate office needs to do something about the hours so people can stop going there thinking it’s open when it’s close

Antoinette Curtis: I am so sick of this particular Dollar general because it never has workers that actually want to work they always have these lazy young girls with filthy attitudes that never want to work until their time until 9:00pm and that's when they're supposed to close. On a good week they may actually close at 9:00pm maybe twice out of the week. Any other day of the week they're closed anywhere from 5:30 up until 8:30 at night and it's really become a problem when you get all the way up there and they're closed and there's always because of some technical difficulties where really we all know that they're just lazy young workers who don't care if they don't have a job today or tomorrow and don't want to stay until 9:00 and if that's the case I'm pretty sure there are other candidates that would love to stay till 9:00 to earn that extra money. It's really getting out of hand I've stayed downtown for at least a year and I tell you there's not been one solid week where they close at 9:00 everyday and the store hours are from 8:00 to 9:00 there's not been one day they've actually held those hours.Very disappointed
Brent Moentmann: The location couldn't be better if your in downtown for a convention, conference,trade showetc.... because it's just ok one block east of the St. Louis America's Center. However, they can sometimes be understaffed and the line can be long.But it opens early and they sell cigarettes at reasonable prices so that's a big plus, especially in downtown.

Tall fair complexion gentlemen, who works behind the counter, was very rude and inappropriate.Customer service is important but he displayed a very unprofessional attitude as well as response for not being acknowledged, while I was having a conversation on the phone, with my significant other, with headphones on.Not speaking, to someone isnt a crime and in any place of business, regardless of the customer reasons. Employee should be kind and courteous to the best of their abilities at all times.
