Suzanne Chisum: Many people have told me that this is the best place to go in St. Louis when needing anything related to technology.If this is the case, they can greatly improve to be more accessible to all.In order to get service at the customer service center there is an open area where one must stand and wait ones turn. Depending on the questions of the people in front of you, this standing time may be extensive.There is no place to sit and wait nor a number system where one could go browse the store and shop while waiting.I have an invisible disability that makes standing in place a challenge. I had no option but to stand however.The store also seems very ‘male-centric.’ Perhaps like an auto parts store, computer stores are the domain of men? There were few female staff available.I needed a peripheral on my computer looked at. I was told to bring the computer and the peripheral in. I did, but then they wanted to keep both in order to replace the peripheral. I was not offered a loaner computer. I do not know if that service is even available. Because of my work relying on this particular kind of computer, I could not go for example to a library and do it.I think they could go far to improve service to St. Louis. They have a good start by what is on their shelves, but they can do much better to include the elderly, disabled and women in their business plan.

Colin Long: This store is complete garbage. The only thing that they care about is selling products. If you have an issue with anything, you can go to the help desk which they call the "Knowledge Center" which is ironic since they seem to have zero knowledge of anything that they're doing. I dropped off my computer because it had a couple of issues that were consistent. I was quoted that it would take 22 days for them to look at it. I agreed to this and then continued to not hear anything for 22 days. Since there is no way to call the store in order to see what's going on, I had to go to the store to ask what was happening. It still hadn't been looked at. I then again waited until it had been 37 days and was told that somebody would finally look at it. They finally looked at the computer, weren't able to replicate the problem that I was describing, but then never looked at the other issue that I was having. All that is to say after 42 days of waiting, they didn't even look at the problems that I told them that it had. On top of all this, there is rarely any more than three people at the help desk even though there is almost always a line at the help desk. In addition to this there is always more than 10 salesmen standing around literally doing nothing but talking to each other. There are always employees outside on the left side of the building I assume smoking but again not doing anything. The management of this store is literally some of the worst I've ever seen for any store whatsoever. I do not recommend using Micro Center to purchase anything, or to get help in any way, because this store is helpless.

MT Hamma: I still have my free grand opening coffee mug they gave me when the store first opened and can't look at it without thinking how great they used to be. After my visit yesterday I will go through an online retailer. I ordered 1 item through microcenter and left for the store only after they verified and confirmed that my item was ready for in store pick up. After a half hour drive and waiting in line the clerk told me they had to substitute the item which was not what I wanted. The staff at the pick up/customer service desk pushed the blame to the employees who pulled the item and then to the system saying they couldn't notify me through email only confirm the order. I told them they can tell me their inventory was off and they did not have the 2 in stock like the website said and I wouldn't have drove 30 minutes there. Microcenter Brentwood employees wasted 1 and a half hours of my time, an hour of it driving and went home empty handed with money wasted to travel there. An online company is delivering the product to my door today free and they accept returns on headsets unlike microcenters COVID policy excuse for no returns on many items (make sure you don't buy a vr there). This was not the first time with on store pick up problems.

That tablet was not the only thing I was going to purchase. So thank you. Your store is awesome, but tonight the staff was not.. except for the guy at the register, he was very nice. ~ SteveI have been back several times since and haven't been disappointed at all. They show you what you want and help you right there to assist if you have many questions or if you say you just want to look at them they will leave you be or check back in a few minutes or so or until you need someone again. They won't stand there and hover over you which is a big plus. Have only dealt with Mircocenter a little over a year and it has been one gaint frustrating nightmare, from a faulty new build to gaslighting me on the true issues. Had the machine in for CPU cooler warranty which they said it could take up to 5 weeks but never got to it, had to go up and ask about because they do not respond to the update text line. I took the computer home to actually get it repaired. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE OTHER THAN MIRCOCENTER.

M Nomura: Just bought another laptop from Kevin at The Computer Resale Store in Brentwood. I have been going here for many years and have bought laptops, desktops, and additional screens here. I also had one of my laptop screens replaced here. With the recent storm and flooding, one of my desktops was acting funny so I brought it in for him to check out. Everything checked out okay. He was going to charge me so little that I insisted on paying him double because otherwise I felt like he was letting me take advantage of him as a repeat customer. I keep coming back because he has good equipment at very reasonable prices, answers all my questions, but mostly because he's just a nice person to do business with. 5 stars no question. I would highly recommend if you are looking for great value. I also like supporting small businesses as opposed to going Best Buy or MicroCenter in this case. Parking is also very convenient in back. I bought a great refurbished PC (1TB, i5 processor) with monitor, at a very reasonable price and Kevin updated the graphics card at in order to meet my needs. The refurbished machine works great, the monitor was a little buggy and Kevin was quick to trouble shoot it and ulitmately replace it. He's a one man operation and does excellent work - I highly recommend him for computer repair and purchasing.**Edit**3 years later, Kevin is still amazing. His customer service is second to none, and he has incredible attention to detail. We've purchased multiple PC's and laptops from him And they are always of great quality. He's quick to diagnose and resolve a problem, and I highly recommend him to anyone needing to purchase a refurbished machine, or get repairs.

Ron Bizzle: This laptop has a mind of it's own....when Kevin first formated the hard drive....it would not start back up....and that is the way I brought it back home (ruined...so I thought)....., I did some research on this model and discovered this was a known problem for others attempting to upgrade it's operating system. I following direction on a Youtube video and got it to start up.......I called Kevin and told him I figured out how to get the laptop to start up and that I believe he could once again try to install Windows 10. The next day....he called to let me know he did in fact get Windows 10 installed but said it still wasn't starting up every time like it should. I brought the laptop home and hit the start button and it booted up perfectly....without any problems....and it's been booting up without any problems ever since....it runs great.....I can not think Kevin enough for working with this nightmare of a computer.....he is a top notch computer service man.

Stephen Wall-Smith: A year or so back, I bought two Dell laptops, one for Missouri and one to leave in Florida, where we visit often. Unfortunately, both turned out to be glacially slow -- I mean, worse than MS-DOS slow. Booting up was a 10-minute process, and don't even ask about opening a browser and trying to pull a site up. I sent both of the laptops back to Dell on warranty a couple of times, and they always came back as slow as ever.In desperation, I took them to South City to be reformatted with Ubuntu, something Nestor had done with an old Windows 7 computer a few years back. It wasn't a perfect solution for my purposes, but Windows 10 wasn't ever going to work. Half a loaf, and all that.Or so I thought. Nestor figured out that the problem was not the OS at all, or (my vote) the processor, it was the hard drive. He replaced the hard drive, and voila, working laptop.Why Dell couldn't figure any of this out remains a mystery. But kudos to SCC.

It took a while for the part to come in - COVID, but once the part arrived the repair was made that day and I picked it up the next. The charge for service seemed very reasonable.

Urban Kayak: Store hours are not reliable, someone may or may not be there. Will take several days for them to respond to messages. As of writing this their website is broken. Do you want to use a computer repair service that isn't computer savvy enough to maintain a proper website? Wasn't even able to drop off my laptop because nobody was at the store. They have a shady store entrance in the back of the building even though there is a front door. Much easier to ship off my laptop for repairs instead.

I'm not saying "don't go there", because if you've got the time and money, then I bet it's a great service.I found their pricing to be high and not transparent. Also they're only available during odd hours. I don't care for the "pay first then we'll service you" model. I was charged a $20 cleaning fee, I understand why they clean the computer--because people are gross, BUT let me know that you're going to charge me that.Also, reading the owner's responses to other people's reviews--he sounds like a total jerk.Having a mean man run a business, makes for a bad business.Kindness, understanding, and being flexible with customers isn't hard. It just requires patience.
