MLynn Staples: Acupuncture St. Louis had some really great acupuncturists, but they don't have availability, & two years ago I quit going because they canceled my appointment because I didn't call back to verify I was for sure going to come in at the time I'd scheduled two weeks earlier. I have been seeing one of the people there for several years. Today they canceled my appointment because they knew in advance that the acupuncturist is going to be sick tomorrow. I've been waiting for 3 weeks for an injury I have. I will have to find some other place, even if it's in another state., because they just can't seem to be responsive. They asked for a callback they put you on hold they can't hear you when you do call, they always have strange admin issues.

J Baltaji: If you have to claim your work is "Authentic"....this was literally the worst I feel totally taken advantage of. My main complaint was tinnitus-fairly common. I get acupuncture for this often, and always-except today-leave better, quieter. He put so many needles on the right side of my head that now my jaw really hurts. I could tell he had no clinical treatment for this condition, but I mentioned a couple other concerns so i thought some this would be addressed. At checkout, he told me it was $98.00!! WOW ! that's $80 new client, plus 2 bottles of herbs. In this neighborhood? Seriously?? The whole reason to go to east of 170 Olive is for the cheap markets & service. That's Dr Ginger pricing, and apparently he figured that's what he should charge me since i shared I see her sometimes. He was so nervous & sweating while collecting my money he asked me 4 times if i need a bag for my herbs & picked it up 5 times. Truly, he knew he was price gouging . What did i get for my hard-earned dollars? On needles SO LONG I couldn't feel my hands & feet and super uncomfortable, no relief to my complaint, and bonus face pain!

Liz Negrau: Knowledgeable and skilled but short on explanations. Probably great if you’re an experienced acupunturee (??) . I was a bit lost as a newbie to Chinese medicine but in the end I didn’t care - my migraines are gone. There’s also something to be said for lying down in perfect stillness in a dark room for 20 min. With or without needles sticking out of you, it’s calming and centering. Lovely peaceful ambiance, if you can overlook some dingy-ness in decor and facility.

Dr.Zhang did a complete exam where she asked many questions to pin point what could be going on with me. The session was so relaxing. Immediately after the treatment I felt euphoric. The following day I felt typical detox symptoms which means it was doing what it is supposed to. Even after first treatment I felt better. I was only able to go to one out of four prescribed treatments due to having to go out of town but I can not wait to continue with my treatments.

I have been able to postpone the quarterly cortisone shot I've been taking for four years. Her credentials are impressive. Her bedside manner is professional but personal. The office is bright and her staff is upbeat and helpful. I just wish the treatments were covered by my Medicare!

Dave Norman: A friend recommended them. This is a fantastic clinic run by Dr. Michael and Tracy. I've been in for a few chronic things, and two acute things, and got meaningful relief from both (joint pain, illness) each time. My options included acupuncture, herbalism, not-painful hands-on techniques, or whatever combination I was comfortable with (which for me was all of it). That freedom, and the options, was pretty sweet. I wasn't expecting a white guy to be doing authentic Chinese medicine--does that sound racist? Probably...--but I chatted up Dr. Michael and his credentials are solid. What matters to me more: what he did worked. And I could afford it. I come back as needed now, and gladly.

Dilana Martinez: I found Roots Acupuncture and Healing via Google! I decided to try it out since I noticed that they may accept my insurance. As it turns out my insurance covers 20 session at a $20 co-pay each! That was excellent news. I met with Rena (the acupuncturist) to discuss my medical history and goals for acupuncture. I came because I had infertility with underlying causes such as endometriosis. We decided I needed at least 2 months treatment weekly and focused on my underlying causes. I noticed my pain decreased during my cycle as well as lower back pain. I once was nauseous from meds and she was able to help with that in addition to other focuses during a session. I saw some improvements in aspects of my condition. Further, in addition to education and training in the field Rena does a lot of research. She was able to talk to me more about her ideas for my situation and we did a specific treatment on my last session that was published in a study to be done before one of my procedures. So far so good! I wish I had found acupuncture earlier because I see it has also helped me with anxiety and stress which I appreciate, amongst other issues. Definitely give it a try! I look forward to continuing to work with Rena!
