Gateway Region YMCA: what do users think?
Andrea Griffin: Mary helped me and my family sign up. She was very helpful and welcoming. Thanks Mary!!!
Farhad Khave: Very organized
Keith Ford: fenton rec..15.dollars a day for seniors..that just pushed us out in the street.. i cannot believe fenton mayor would allow us to be treated like that…we have lived in fenton for 30 years and we love the rex plex..shameful ymca..
DX: Cannot give even 1 star ! The gwrymca St Peters (Shady Springs) Y leadership is TERRIBLE ! From 'management' there is bullying, intimidation, wrong/poor communications, no leniency or compassion, always requesting additional money from members and employees, not 'looking out' for needs/requests of employees or members, etc..It is a dismal, dysfunctional, chaotic, poorly run location. The present leadership has 'run off' MANY members and employees over many years !!! Terrible treatment of members and employees !!! Many people have suggested that the word Christian should be removed from wording for that YMCA, thus YMA for that location ! The current leadership needs to be investigated and replaced by managers that will allow for Christian thoughts, actions, and words !!!
Nadia Hauf: lifeguards are so nice and helpful
Bodi Carmel: They treat there members with no humility or respect. You get there and if you arrive 30 min before closing time they say you better hurry up were closing. The locker custodians are in charge of the closing procedures - yeah I'm not kidding the custodians. They walk into the lockers rooms and yell loud were closing in 10 min and then another yells were closing in 5 minutes. After there closed the director of Y comes down and tells you hurry up were closed. I was told that employees have families and want get home. When I'm getting harassed by them. I have my clothes on walking out of the locke room probably 3 minutes at best past closing time. Also the custodians start cleaning the lockerroom ten or 15 minutes before closing. I'm not kidding they push you out of that place. I'm putting my clothes on and there is a mop right in front of me. This place doesn't care about it's members. All about saving money therefore forcing the employees to start cleaning locker rooms earlier so they don't have to pay them. The YMCA is a joke - go to the Lodge of Des Peres or Jewish Community Center in Chesterfield. Both treat you with respect and have a grace period to get out after official closing time - they dont force you out like the Y. I will say this the Y's steam room is good that's the only reason I joined.
Michael Carson: Hello Gateway Region YMCAMs Erin and Ms Tasha were very unprofessional and denied me entry at 7pm tonight. Over something my family wasn't aware of and your core values aren't even remotely shared by them. My children have recited the YMCA core values at every game but your night front desk should know them.i felt like Ms Erin was a bulley and was trying to show her power I'm writing a complaint to forward to head quarters.
Michelle Connolly Higgins: Front desk is nice and helpful. I like this location better than some of them downtown. It is much less crowded. I can go in, do my workout and be done without waiting. The one thing that I would change is the swim break every 45 min. I am a distance swimmer. I can not do 2 to 3 miles warm up and stretch in 45 min. If they could have just a 10 min break every 60 minutes, that may be a compromise. Adult only swim during break would be idea.Great front door parking, locker rooms not crowded, and it is very clean.
sheila hollinshed: I open up my Y app and ask me for a password and I couldn't get in. I ask the receptionist many times and can't get in for my classes. What is going on?
Mama Lan: Over 3 years ago, my husband and I wanted to find a program that could teach my children to swim. We joined the Y in Carondelet Park. My kids learned to swim very quickly. I found a fantastic place to exercise and new friends. While waiting during swimming lessons, I looked through the class offerings and tried many. I've enjoyed all of them and feel that joking the Y has been one of the best decisions my family has made.
David Lewis: This review is regarding the South City Y in STL. I am curious if you support allowing barefeet in the gym.The facility is clean but the weight room area is untidy. The clients don't pick up after themselves and the staff seem oblivious the mess. I can't stand working out in an unorganized/untidy area so I clean up after others so I feel comfortable with my work out routine. The staff allow clients to work out barefoot or in flip flops/sandals. After complaints I was told by 3 staff members that they allow members to work out bare foot because the signage says "should" not must wear appropriate gym attire and/or foot wear. With that loose interpretation I guess you can also work out without a shirt? According to your staff I should but not must wear appropriate attire?I could go to another fitness center for much less cost than the Y. I remain a customer because it is a non-profit and it is in walking distance from my home.

South City Family YMCA: what do users think?
Dakota: Nice facility, large range of gym equipment and kept up well. Lots of good classes included in the membership - also one of the only places you can find instruction in Chen and Hunyuan tai chi in the metro area. Locker rooms are nice - there's a steam room, plenty of sink space, etc. There are open showers (a plus) and they're cleaned enough, but they smell dingy - i think the drains need to be cleaned more often?Would be four stars but I was told by staff that people aren't allowed to use the rec rooms with mirrors when when there's no classes in them for whatever reason - probably insurance or something. I wanted to use the space to practice tai chi and dancing. Anyways, it feels weird to tell members they can't be trusted to be in an empty room in a fitness facility.
Madelin Mattli: Giving a bad review because the website is awful. Impossible to change my password because every time I request a change password email, I don't receive anything, even in my spam folder. Have attempted multiple times. Have even asked for the front desk workers to send me an email twice and still haven't gotten anything. My only reason for signing up for this gym was for the classes and I've still not been able to attend any because of this technical issue. I'll change my review once this issue is fixed but it's pretty ridiculous how bad and dated the website is.Thank you for the reply but I still have not gotten an email.
Curtis Jeney: Facility is great, helpful and approachable staff. The little ones swim lessons are great. Only 2 family rooms for the pool which makes it a bit of a bottleneck when swim classes finish up.
Denise Taylor: Just joined!
Kevin Glass: I went to south city YMCA today. When I scanned my membership card to enter a birthday jingle sound came on. The nice lady at the welcome desk wished me happy birthday🎂😊🤗. This is excellent membership courtesy and thoughtfulness. Which is why I've been a member for so long.🤗 Thank you😊
Roxann Strathmann: Friendly and clean.
Darell Mays: I spend most of my time in the gym and i love the court. But apparently if you play too many games in a row, somebody might steal your basketball.
Christian Madsen: Decent work out place.Track over gym solid concrete, hard on knees and ankles and not a good place to run.
Eric Mullins: I don’t understand how it’s easier to get through TSA than buy a day pass. We were turned away because we did not have a current ID even though we have been to this YMCA before.
Krysta: I loved this facility and wish I had joined sooner! The aqua classes were great, and I loved the sauna as well. It was overall a very clean facility and very friendly staff. I had to cancel because of moving and they made it so easy! Would recommend.
Anne Gonzalez: Solid neighborhood YMCA.
Bill Belgeri: First visit in a LONG time but found the facility clean and friendly staff and guests.
Robert Luepker: Love the Yoga🙏🧘
jesu posada: I love Sandra Minor Acqua Core more class, excelente work out and great music!!
K Hyde: I love group exercise classes at the Y. Chip is my absolute favorite instructor. He’s funny and never annoying. I can tell he really cares about us!
Ellen Big Sexy Marsh: Diana in water aeobics is the best
Michael Bryant: South City YMCA has fantastic classes & instructors. The les mills HIIT classes are very helpful & Chip is a great instructor for strength & core classes.
Donald Trimble: Definitely got a good answer equipment and the people there are always happy to help.
Colin Crowe: awful during the winter months i can barely play basketball on the court because of all of these ymca teams. makes me not wanna go there anymore it’s getting annoying they need to do something about this because i play high school sports and i wanna practice outside of my school’s practice time because i want to get better.
yaya hey: Very professional and friendly trainers in this y,child watch session is very clear, always clean and bright, love this y
John Daines: Awesome place. Good community and facilities.

Indigo Massage and Wellness: what do users think?
Amanda Bowen: Derek has magic hands. He is very friendly, professional, and is wonderful at what he does. I will definitely come back to see him again
Mango Nuggy: If I could rate this place higher, I would! Everyone there is so welcoming and understanding. It was my first time getting a massage, and it was awesome! I definitely plan on coming back soon!!
Johanne Steven: good discount
Christine McDuffie: Wow! What an awesome massage with Westley. I have arthritis in my back and I’ve never felt so much relief from a massage. Great environment if you’re not familiar with the area get some food at the cafe across the street!
Sam Kichline: World Class!
Julia Noack: I’ve been going here for years, both locations. Always a good experience even with different massage therapists!
Kate B: I think I found my new massage go to. I had been going to a chain, Massage Luxe, for years. Great price I'd locked in through a deal through my former employer, but got so tired of getting short changed on time w massages not lasting through the end of scheduled time and then having to argue to get credited back. All in all, I wanted a massage studio that actually left me relaxed at the end of the interaction!Well, finally, I found it!Like everyone else notes, super relaxing atmosphere, front desk person was super chill, great energy all around. They have great covid safety protocols, I feel safe that my masseuse is being protected and so am I.Easy scheduling. My original therapist had a medical emergency and they found a same day reschedule.I also like that they seem to be very LGBTQIA+ friendly here, and they offer diverse types of services for all types of clients, like binder massage, and forms with gender choices that aren't exclusionary.Julie is the best. The best massage I've had in years. Fell asleep and caught myself snoring (don't tell anyone 🤫). I asked for firm pressure and haaallp w my mountains of back and neck knots and she delivered. Absolutely perfect pressure. Also, she started the session off w Reiki and it totally set the tone.Another thing, I was a little worried that since our session started a little past the half hour she might end at less than 60 minutes. Decided to just chill and not even mention it. She still gave me the full hour ( and honestly a few minutes more if I'm not mistaken). I really appreciate the high quality of service and professionalism.Reserved parking out back.
Craven Moore: My wife bought me a gift card for my bday which was 120 with the tip. She bought another $100 gift card for Christmas. I became ill with the flu the night before my appointment so I called to cancel. I kept getting their answering machine so I left a message. I didn't receive a call back so I called as soon as they opened the next morning and was informed it would be $35.00 to reschedule. I could have went in with the flu and infected everyone or I could get beat out of my $100.00. Fortunately I have more morals than they lack. Don't waste your money on this fraud.Update: 6 years later and they’ve never attempted to make this right.
Isela Zepeda Rosa: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Brea Youngblood: I've been to Indigo many times over years for massage, yoga and acupuncture and always appreciated the sensitivity and care in the environment that they create. I recently had my first acupuncture appointment with Dr. Nicole Anderson at their Maplewood location and it was transformative. Her awareness, compassion, intuition and skill left me with so much gratitude. I can't recommend a session with Dr. Anderson more highly. Thank you, thank you for the support!
Taylor Lange: I did an energy healing/massage session today with Anna Ross. I'm honestly in awe of how much better I feel. My soul feels lighter. Thank you so so much, Anna!
Lordell Rush: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityAbsolute best massage I've ever had. Brennan really took time to understand my history and make sure I understood the steps it would take to get my body back aligned. For someone who has had a history of back problems, I'm stoked to have found this place!
Derrell Byrd: I just left the arsenal location and I've been in the military. I've been in a car accident. I've trained in multiple combative sports for years and workout daily. I got a massage from liz and my shoulder and back that has been bothering me for quite sometime feel 10xs better. This place is extremely covid aware and safe. They have all kinds of precautions and even check your temp at the door. This is the 1st time in over 10 years that I've had a massage and I immediately scheduled another next week. Highly recommended!!!
Makeda Love: i had a question actually. i was referred to Indigo by a friend but i dont know the therapist name that did his massage. i hear she is excellent. the description i got was a short lady with short hair at the Arsenal location. please HELP. lol
Stacy Mattern: Very intuitive, sensing massage. Amazing experience with Anna
modofatak: I’ve had about 20 massages and only twice with the same therapist. I’ve never been able to find the right one until now. Indigo massage is a relaxing, well-appointed environment and Ashlee gave me the best, most thorough, productive massage I’ve ever had. I’ve now found the person right for my needs. Also, I’m chatty and Ashlee willingly and compellingly engages in conversation (even if she prefers to work silently. You’d never know). Truly 5 star massage. Thanks.
Jeanne Heil-Chapdelaine: Awesome and professional staff.
amy merrihue: Completely one of if not the best massages ever.Clare was professional, aware, kind. Intuition of problem areas and focus were perfect. The new space is definitely slightly bizarre but proprietor did great in taking away the clinic feeling. Receptionist was kind and fair with time.Huge space.I hope great sucsess for indigo.Don't think I can go anywhere else ever again. As anyone reading this shouldn't either.Fantastic ownership and therapist. Mandy does amazing reiki work.Thank you Indigo!
The McBrowns (The McBrowns): Complete and total bliss!!! I literally just walked out from my massage and HAD to pause to write a review so I wouldn’t forget to later. My brother purchased a prenatal massage for me for my birthday and OH. MY. GOD. It was 80-minutes of complete and total perfection. I have never had such a thorough and relaxing massage in my life...and I’ve been fortunate to experience many massages.Mandy is incredible! I absolutely will be back SOON!!!UPDATE (March 2019):As always, Mandy is amazing. I leave these massages not only feeling relaxed, but like I am standing taller, have more range of motion and ready to take on whatever comes at me. I adore her and am so thankful for her!
Megan Braa: Would highly recommend. Such a cute little establishment with character. Aaron gave me gave me the best massage I’ve ever had! It was so relaxing I swear I had an out of body experience.

Carondelet Park Rec Complex YMCA: what do users think?
Cynthia Bracy: This Site is near my residence with many more I would like to get involved in especially since my children are grown and I have a lot of LEISURE TIME TO DO STUFF ALONE SO IM GOING TO LOOK INTO
Elisha Pullen: Great facility. Lots of equipment.
scotty j: Clean , nice staff , has sauna and steam room maybe a vending machine on desk entrance and has computer room and large pool and hot-tub . Plenty of parking it's at the Loughborough entrance from hwy 55 inside carondellette park recreation center is how the signage reads for the Y.M.C.A.
Denise Taylor: Just joined here, beautiful place...ready to work out again!
Thang Ngo: I cancel my membership because i let my kids get in the pool after school time, but they told they closed the pool for the class Monday to Thursday, 4:00 - 7:00, and Saturday, it’s not fair. i just have time on that hour bring my kids to swim, they closed. The reason I sign up membership is for my kids because they can’t play, they cried but i still paid for monthly bill. At least, it has to have small area for someone dont have a class, few year ago, they still have area for someone don’t have class but right now they dont,
Philip Gold: I keep meaning to write a review of this gym, but always forget. Not today, brain! This is definitely the best gym I've ever been to. A large selection of machines, never super crowded (can be a little crowded at peak times), and all kinds of people from all walks of life work out here. Haven't used the pool or basketball courts, but clearly nice perks as well. Staff is very friendly.Extra shout out to Alex W. He was my personal trainer for a few months at the beginning of 2022. I'd never used a personal trainer before, so was admittedly timid, but he was phenomenal. I can't imagine you'll find better. Challenges you without being a drill sergeant, super friendly, and puts you at ease. Just an all around great guy. He helped me tremendously with my form and introduced me to several new exercises which I do regularly now. He's also incredibly attentive the entire time he's working with you. (I can't tell you how many times I've seen trainers at other gyms looking at their phones or not paying much attention to their clients. Not true of Alex.) If I still lived in St. Louis, I'd continue using Alex as a personal trainer.
Kristy Steed: Wouldn’t recommend going here. The workers are very racist and rude especially to young black kids.
Henry Liaw: I was interviewing households in this region for a community survey when I came across an angler fishing catfish and struck up a conversation with him; he has been fishing here for winter stocked trout and catfish. The park appears to be clean, serene, and attractive, with large, towering trees. I'll return with some buddies to stroll the park trail, enjoy the sights, and/or cast fishing line in the hopes of catching some big catfish. I strongly advise you to bring family members to this lovely park complex. Have fun! I made a YouTube Video to share it with friend.
Travis Barton: I love this facility. It's well maintained and the staff are professional and friendly. My only gripe is how shallow most of the pool is and there being only three swim lanes that are almost always taken up. I need to be able to do aquatic exercises and you need at least 4-5 ft depth to do most of those exercises and the majority of the pool is 3.6 feet. You have to try and snatch a swim lane when you can and then suffer the dirty looks you get when you are just trying to use that lane to do your aquatic physical therapy. It would be nice if they had a separate adult pool or adult swim hours or a space for just aquatic fitness but I understand that's a tall order so I make due. This is still a great facility and I use it 3 times a week
Kel Jones: New member , I had a emergency situation with my card on my due date , got the bill and they said it’s a extra $25 dollar fee because I didn’t pay it on the 1st of the month , well I never knew that and I feel that fee should be be waived because I wasn’t aware of that 😕 wow
Pixie Gerken: Great Y amazing staff
James Davis: I believe they used to change the water twice a week in the hot tub now they went to once a month. They only change the water once a month that is absolutely gross and disgusting. Not to mention what they did to the YMCA in general. All those people that donated money to the YMCA for these doors to “” never be closed. That is a crime. And there needs to be a really good documentary exposing the YMCA. Absolutely disgusting
Tom Kelly: Good spot for open pickleball play indoors. 3 courts on one side of the gym.
Ben David: Dirty, dingy, humid...not how it used to be when newer. Trash litters the parking lot.
Chrystal Richardson: They have the nicest people there and their facilities are nice and clean. The only issue I have is how disgusting the shower floors are though
Spencer Anne: I live nearby & only come here for the sauna bc I prefer to exercise elsewhere. I’ve spoken to management about the lack of cleanliness in the sauna & they said they would tell the janitors — it’s only getting worse. See the filthy floors, used bandaids, etc in attached photos.
Josh Miklovic: Been a member for a while and have relatively good experiences however lately not so much. The pool splash pad and slide are hardly ever opened for the kids however my monthly bill stays the same.Today it was just me and my 2 boys in the entire pool and a lifeguard told me that the boys could not have inflatable floties, kinda silly but whatever.Next I was in the hot tub watching my 2 boys in the pool, ( they were the only 2 in the pool) and lifeguard said that I needed to be in the pool with them, because my 6 year old was wearing a life jacket. He said that has always been a rule, which it wasn’t. He then said I could talk to his boss. Which I did and she said that if I took off his life jacket that I could go in the hot tub.How does this make sense. They were all just mad and had attitudes since they had to do their job.Disappointed and will probably cancel my membership.
Margaret Ruzicka: Yes it Holly
Linda: The YMCA is a great place in the community to find faithful friends, and enjoy family time. My mom and I like to visit the new senior hub for coffee, games, and chit chat. Lori, our supervisor, plans some nice activities each month.
George Paddock: Super busy but well organized.
Robert Monigan: Best Gym in the Area!! Hands down!!
