Brianna Raakman: This place is extremely dark. I could not even tell when I entered which tables were free because it was so dark. They only had QR code menus and it was too dark for my phone to scan it. The layout of the space was not great because the band is right at the entrance so only a couple tables can see the band the rest are too far away. Yes the live music is nice but the aesthetic of the room was not my style and it made it difficult for me to stay and enjoy it.

Talya and The Boyfriends actually know jazz like the back of their hands. Get here, you need this place.

Jennifer Fink: The Phoenix didn’t disappoint! Local artist Nikki White who appears most Thursdays is a treat and provides great entertainment. Highly recommend.
Holy Ghost glitter: Music was great! So small paid 5 bucks to get in so we could eat, but no table. Glad they gave me money back. Because of that I will go back to try the food that was highly rated by a friend!

j a: Went there Thurs night to go see Nikki playing. Got there it was myself ,wife and 5 month old.nikki like us and waitress did also. was good until around 9.another employee I think came over and told us we had to leave since did not allow younger in there after 9. So give us things so we could take are food to go.had to ask waitress for ticket since she was unaware. Would have been nice to know from get go.that way wouldn't have gotten to kozy being there and wouldn't have my meal interrupted. Would have avoid the whole place.hopefully it was the truth and not malarkey because of and individual try to go above and beyond. Which was weird since not much people were there. Was trying to support local yet will not go there for a while.will just have to catch Nikki playing at another location for now on
LS Tours: THIS is the place to go for LIVE MUSIC and GREAT FOOD on a weeknight! We visited on a Tuesday and were blessed with hearing the piano talents of Walt and the singing abilities of Talya, who can really belt it out with the best of them! What a great vibe, a welcoming atmosphere and even unexpected back up singers from the crowd! What an unexpected treat!

Casey Kline: Took my wife (recently married) out for a first date night as a married couple, we stayed at 21c Museum Hotel and decided to go to the Phoenix and it did not disappoint! The music was fantastic, the energy was pure, cozy welcoming. We had the cajun pasta, it was absolutely delicious, hands down the best i have had in Kansas City. My wife is a big foodie and she rated the pasta 10/10 as i would've rated it 11/10. We fell in love with this bar and will for sure, be back! Thank you for giving us a bar to remember. Also, no pictures taken of the food because it was soooo good i didnt even think to take a picture. Next time!
Lillian Anderson: Me and my date was looking for a place to bring in the New Year. We pulled and asked a few people standing out, how much to get in. We were told $65.00. I think that's highway robbery, just because it's New Years Eve. I normally go and it's free or 5-10.00 per person to get in. 65.00 for hats and noise makers ??? Really??

Which, makes sense, it has the same owners!We came in early because we wanted to check it out before a concert crowd (if it gets one), and Emmett is welcoming, kind, and gave us a bit of history about the place. There is a great happy hour, disco tunes, and it’s just really cool in here.We will be back, and plan to spread the word!

Two of my friends coincidentally wore bell bottoms so this was destined! Lol We had the entire dance floor to ourselves. The owner was so cool as well. I’d been craving an Amaretto sour for the last few days so I asked him to make me one and it was DELICIOUS so I had to have another. I’ve never had one like that before. I have to say…this just might be my new spot and it was a great place to end our night. I plan to bring my friends back here again and maybe even my man.If you’re reading this haven’t been here…GO! Sherry Jackson: My friend took me here for my birthday the performer's name was Kim, this lady was totally awesome. I absolutely loved her performance, the band was great as well. We did order food and it was delicious. Our waitress was wonderful. She kept up with us and made sure that we had everything we need. The club itself was clean and nice. T P: I went here two nights in a row simply because I felt like it was a grown and sexy atmosphere. My second night I did have an issue with the food, but the managers were very accommodating. The food was good the first night, but the second night, not so much. But they did fix it, so I have to give them five stars because the customer service was wonderful. MrWicked98: Where do I begin. Let's start with the Jambalya. Very good flavor but very little meat. It comes as an appetizer and there was zero chicken or shrimp. Our serving had a few tiny pieces of sausage and that was it. For me it was a food dish that was severely short changed on meat and not worth it for what we paid. For the main meal our waiter talked me into the Cajun stir fry. Do not do this. It was kind of a let down. It tasted good but in no way was it anything that said Cajun. If you want stir fry go to a Chinese restaurant otherwise steer clear of it, I found myself constantly looking for sweet and sour. The savior for me was the gumbo. Very good and great flavor, go for the bowl. My son got the shrimp poor boy which came with a generous portion of shrimp. He said was good and my wife gave two thumbs up to the catfish. Our service was just OK. Our waiter kept forgetting stuff and his jokes started to become a little annoying after a while. IMO he was a bit too talkative for me but overall it was a good experience.
Slim D: Apparently you are only entitled to customer service when you dine in. When you dine in you receive bread with your order but they charge you for bread when you order to go. I spent $44 on a to go order and was told by the manager it's "because it's a recession". The logic makes no sense to still provide to dine in customers if that's the case. Been going to this Jazz location for 20 years - when Slick still ran things. Jazz even catered my mother's wedding. I won't be back at either location. I know how to make pretty much everything on the menu and I go out of the convenience and nostalgia. I promise if this wasn't my first meal in over 24 hours they would have been keeping the order and giving me my money back. I have no problem keeping *my* money so i wont be back. You know...since it's a recession and all :)

They were updating the parking lot area, but I'm sure they r done by now! They also have a deck out back and an entrance way not only to the bathrooms but also to the greeter to take your name! Park in the rear tho more convenient! You also get to sign the walls with a marker, so have one handy! BON APPÉTIT.. You can never go wrong with the cajean shrimp 🍤 and linguine OMG to die for and large portions of food on every plate! 😋 Food is so delicious you'll be finding yourself visiting all the time!
