Holly Du: We had Cupini’s cater our wedding, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Matthew was so easy to work with and was adaptable when we needed to update or change things. The food was delicious as always, and they gave us SO MUCH. By the end of the night we had two pans of lasagna, one pan of tortelloni, one pan of primavera, and one pan stuffed full of bread to take home. Almost all of our guests left with smaller to-go boxes as well! The only thing of concern to note, is that some of our guests mentioned that the chaffing dishes didn’t have their warmers turned on, so the food wasn’t hot; however, everyone still loved the food. Would highly recommend using Cupini’s for your wedding!

N B: Ordered chicken parm and chicken fetucinne Alfredo. The chicken in both dishes were room temperature and were extremely dry. The chicken in the parm was rubbery like it was cooked 5 hours before and microwaved for a minute because it obviously wasn't not enough to melt the deli slice cheese on top. It looked like it was cooked before we even decided to come here. Food came out suspiciously quick. The Alfredo sauce was completely bland. I even had to chace someone down for our garlic bread they forgot. Fix your soda machine. I am never coming back. I wish I could give it zero stars.

Leanna Walker: Parking: Street parking is limited. And the parking lot usually has plenty of spaces, except during the dinner rush. But you need to know it is located behind the building.Wheelchair accessibility: I don't know how wheelchair friendly this place is. The parking lot is behind the building and either up stairs or you have to walk all the way around the building to the front. Interior is very tight, no handicap automatic doors.

Darcy Besch: Finally went here and was not disappointed! It’s a more casual joint than I expected, but the food was excellent. I got the Amatriciana, which was bright and spicy and balanced. My partner got a calzone - the crust and the cheese were delicious. I was a little underwhelmed by the bruschetta we ordered to start, but it was fresh and I was happy enough. I ordered a pistachio cheesecake and coffee after the meal. It was like strong diner coffee. The cheesecake was wonderful.Our server was great too! Appropriately attentive, good sense of humor without being too much. We’re moving out of the neighborhood, but I’ll remember to come back when I want laid back but elegant Italian food. Would recommend widely.

hopperado: One of the "most Italian" restaurants I have ever been in the US. Quality of food proves the cook is either Italian or got an Italian mentor. Very efficient service, offering options to all possible allergies or other special preferences.Atmosphere is somewhat missing though, maybe because black and white photos everywhere make it monotonous.

Amanda Fellows: I was in town with some friends and was so excited to try Garozzos's. The menu had so many delicious looking options. Sadly I found nearly everything disappointing. I was most excited to try the Sicilian stuffed artichoke; shrimp, prosciutto, garlic, butter, melted provolone, breadcrumbs. How could you go wrong, right? By overshadowing all the delicious ingredients with over half the stuffing being soggy breadcrumbs. Every bite was like salty cream of wheat. I don't understand, there was no need for all that filler and it just ruined the dish for me.For my entrée I had the chicken spiedini Samantha. Sadly, I had a similar issue as the appetizer. The spiedini is described as "Marinated Chicken Breast Rolled in Italian Bread Crumbs, Skewered and Grilled." I guess I misunderstood what they meant by "rolled" in breadcrumbs. I was expecting chunks of chicken lightly breaded, instead it was several thin slices of chicken rolled up with more of the soggy breadcrumbs. If the breadcrumbs had just been on the outside, and I hadn't already been overwhelmed with them on the appetizer, I don't think it would have been a problem. But with the breadcrumbs rolled up inside the slices of chicken they didn't get crispy but again were the texture of cream of wheat. I didn't think the alfredo sauce was anything special and there was only 3-4 artichoke hearts.Several of my friends and I ordered glasses of the house Cabernet Sauvignon. This was the highlight of the meal. I don't usually order house wine because I don't expect it to be very good. But this was so good I ordered a second glass. For an end of meal cocktail, I ordered the espresso martini. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it was quite good. Just a little heavy on the cream for my taste.For dessert several of us ordered the limoncello cake to go. It was good but we were disappointed it didn't come with the raspberry sauce listed on the menu. We all thought it would have been better with the sauce.One of the reasons we chose Garozzos's was due to dietary restrictions. Their menu very clearly marks vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. My friend said her gluten free pasta dish was really good. *This is why I rated a second star.Another friend ordered the Pasta con Broccoli alla Balano (broccoli and mushroom pasta with a tomato cream sauce). She enjoyed it and the bite I tried was good although oddly sweet, perhaps again too much cream for my taste.A couple of things to note, the portions are huge and they do offer half portions. I wish I'd taken advantage of that. Also, be aware that a side salad is not included. My side caesar salad cost an extra $6.50.I'm not usually this picky but, after tax and tip, I spent over $100 for my meal alone. For me that's a splurge and I had higher expectations.Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options clearly marked on the menu.

Benjamin S: One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life, truly. I had a spiedini, garlic bread, and the meatballs for an app. I eat out 2-3 nights a week on the road, I can’t honestly tell you I’ve ever had anything better. The vibe feels like I stepped into the middle of the movie Goodfellas. Frank Sinatra playing, low lighting, pics of a variety of known (and unknown) people adorn the walls like wallpaper. My flight was cancelled and I was stuck in KC, this place made me happy to be there. I wish they had more restaurants, but I’ll be making a trip with my girlfriend just to eat here when we get the time…and it’ll be well worth the trip. A must experience!!!Update (June2023): I was in KC for a week and was fortunate enough to eat here twice during the week. The Georgio is indescribably tasty. With the wedge salad (out of this world) and cheesy garlic bread as an app, it’s an amazing meal. There’s only two complaints I have: 1.) there isn’t one in Pittsburgh and 2.) I’m so full from the meal I haven’t been able to get dessert! Seriously, I wish you all would venture east…there’s nothing anywhere close to this place out here!!!!

Syderial D: Amazing food! It a bit crowded and loud but there was a large noisy party of 8 also. The gluten free menu is helpful, serving staff may not understand it but the kitchen does. Parking is difficult, just find the first spot you see within a block and walk it, there won't be anything close open. I would eat whatever they made while sitting on the sidewalk if they asked, nothing else really matters but how excellent the food is. Had the Atkins and spumoni, the tiramisu is house made. The only Alfredo sauce I've had that I thought was worth paying for in a restaurant, I make mine at home with gorgonzola and people have asked for it bottled so most restaurants can't impress me there. I'm glad I chose that, it was truly well made and flavorful. Will be back.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

Shrimp scampi was delicious -- shrimp were cooked perfectly. The lunch crowd seemed to be regulars. The restaurant is not huge, but I didn't feel overcrowded. The 2nd floor was not open on the day we went. Bar area was open, but no one was seated there.I'm so happy to have dined at Carmen's and will certainly be back!!Parking: Parking is limited on the street.

Choose the sauce of your choice...I have had them all and you cannot go wrong. Simple = Carmela. Briney = Beatriz. Creamy and cheesy = Julian. Or step it up and have it Oscar. Those scallops are perfectly done.There are a few places that are MUSTS when we drive through or stay in KC and Carmen's is one of them. The staff are so polite and relaxed and the atmosphere a perfect blend of classy and comfortable, it feels like the kind of restaurant you can take your time at. Sit back. Talk with your family and friends. Don't rush. Enjoy the food and company. That's what dining should be and is at Carmen'sVegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian pasta dishes and salads.Kid-friendliness: Probably not right for your crayon menu age children. Small Talker: We visited Carmen's Cafe for dinner and had reservations. The place was quite busy, more than I had expected. People were enjoying dinner and conversations. Our server was quick, courteous, and efficient. I had some Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken. It was good but somewhat bland. It could have used a bit more white pepper for sure. The food was piping hot and served quickly. This is a great Italian place in Brookside worth visiting.

Open cooking on the side of the bars. 2 levels of space. The steak modiga is my favorite dish, with fettuccine that you got to substitute for. The spiedini is great with many selections. Italian butter is nice with the bread. Plenty of wine selections. Desserts are delicious also. It gets busy reservations are recommended. Parking can be tricky out front suggest parking in the lot across the street. This is a very busy district in Brookside on most days. Thanks for doing it right for all these years and staying the same place I went to all those years ago.

Daniel Hoerr: What an experience! I sat solo at the bar and happened to come in about 5 minutes before the end of happy hour on a Friday night. The bar staff were quick to point out their HH menu and took my order asap to get in a couple specials before it ended. Service was phenomenal, you can just tell these people care about their guests. True hospitality. And the food - From apps to pasta to oysters to dessert right down to the bread, olives and oil, this place is top tier. One Might expect that from a chef with a James Beard, but it’s still impressive. Every detail seems to shine. In a lifetime of excellent culinary experiences, Farina shines. And I don’t give that praise lightly. Also perfectly paired cocktails and wines. Che buono!

On side is a little louder than the other. We sat on the quieter, more romantic side with comfortable wing back chairs. Our server Betsy was attentive, kind, and courteous.The star of this place is the food. There is a valid reason why the average rating is 4.8. Such delicious flavors. The pasta is house made. Nothing we ate was overly seasoned. I ate a wood fired ribeye which is better than most steakhouses. My wife had leek campanelle and seared halibut.For dessert, we ordered the panna cotta flight- and absolutely must order item.Yes, this is a fine dining restaurant, but it is a fabulous one at that! Well worth my money and a fun experience.

N B: Horrible. I ordered ‘SPAGHETTI CACIO E PEPE’ earlier this evening. It was drier than Sahara desert and uncooked. I tried taking two bites, gave up. Inedible.We spoke with waitress and she said that’s how it is. I don’t believe that because another one of my friends ordered the same thing, it was properly cooked and swimming in sauce or melt cheese. Onion rings were cold. I’d give 0 stars if possible.This is probably the worst food I have ever had in my life.I won’t go back and will discourage others.
