Even though it is a chain restaurant, it has a lot of character and charm, and the food is pretty good for the price. It's quite homely italian decorated, plenty of framed photos masking the whole walls, very family feeling.My first experience was excellent, loved the girl that served me. She served bread without me asking, and even set out a plate with oil and vinegar. Honestly, she must have been a pro the way she poured it out. The spaghetti and meatballs came out quickly, ginormous portions as you can imagine as their portions are made for sharing. The small portion to serve 3, and the larger portion to serve 5. I got the small portion with the intention of eating half for dinner and eating half for lunch the next day. Couldn't fault my first experience here at all. Definitely encouraged me to return, which is what I did yesterday bringing a colleague with me. Disaster.I don't understand why but we were taken to the very back of the restaurant. Other diners were also taken here so I guess they made a point to fill the back of the restaurant first. The restaurant wasn't full, and didn't get full during our time there so I didn't see why they didn't seat us at any of the many empty tables in the main rooms.We had a male server this time, sadly my girl didn't seem to be there. It was Meatball Monday so we both went for that. He asked us if we wanted bread and of course I said yes which he promptly bought and left on our table. Did wait for the oil and vinegar but never came. I tried to catch his eye several times as he was serving the other tables but he never looked over so had to get up and serve myself from one of the server stations.A short while later, a bowl of Spaghetti Meatballs came out. Great, except only one. We were a confused as to why they didn't come out together so it took a bit of time again to try and catch the waiter's eye but finally he came round to check to see how we were doing. We asked about the second bowl and it seems that he had misunderstood. No biggie, misunderstandings happen. However, one thing I noticed with my dish is that there were only two meatballs. Last week, I got three, even took pictures. I informed the waiter who responded that the dish is usually served with two meatballs but he can bring a third meatball for me. Satisfactory response for me.He came back a short while later with the second dish for my colleague, but no meatball for me. OK, maybe it takes a bit of time for it to be prepared again and he'll come back later with it. I didn't need it right then since I was never going to finish in that meal, the intention was for lunch the next day. And yes, my colleague did get three meatballs.We ate and it did taste good, spaghetti and meatballs in red sauce, very difficult for an italian restaurant to get it wrong.The waiter did come back to check to see how we were doing so I alerted him again about the missing meatball. This time he did come back a short while later with it.When finished, we asked for the bill and some boxes for our leftovers. We forgot to ask for split bills but on checking, I saw that they charged 10USD for the meatball. Not acceptable - I had 3 meatballs last week, my colleague got 3 meatballs, the picture advertising the Meatball Mondays has 3 meatballs. When he came back to pick up the payment, we requested for the bill to be split, but I questioned the charge for the extra meatball. His explanation was the meatball was an extra request and that the dish normally only comes with two meatballs. Not in my limited experience and I explained to him that the expectation for 3 meatballs had been set. He said he would talk to the manager and when he came back with bill split, they had taken off the charge for the meatballs. Only this time, they didn’t apply the Meatball Monday 50% discount. It took another round of getting the bill redone before it finally came back correctly. Throughout, the waiter was very courteous and understanding. I appreciate him for that.

ML PC: I rarely make negative reviews, but if only I could give a no-star or a negative just to rate a restaurant, I'd give this Buca di Beppo location in Kansas City, MO that rating.This restaurant has the worst customer service we have ever experienced. Don't get me wrong, not all staff are, but it was particularly two people who were disrespectful, sarcastic, and disdainful that talks back to people who demands a refund back. We ordered our food online in advance, but their system did not register the food we ordered, so we had to wait. Take note, the point of ordering ahead of time is to simply not wait and just do a grab and go system. But, I guess for them that's not what it means instead, "RUSH" (word used by one of the staff at that time) the food so, we won't complain for a refund and sarcastically say "its not rocket science" (and again phrase used by one of the staff); HOWEVER, if you consider customer satisfaction you wouldn't rush the order just for the sake that the food was made esp if you are running a food business/restaurant.Upon looking at the previous reviews in this place and these are months or years ago, the phrase they often use for people who leave bad review is: " We are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience. WE WILL BE SURE TO SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK WITH OUR TEAM TO IMPROVE FUTURE GUESTS EXPERIENCE" If upper management does share these feedbacks or reviews with the staff at Buca's KC location, then why is it that nothing has changed or customer experience is just getting worse over time? Would it be because there is a lack of discipline in the staff, or is it a lack of leadership? Does Buca KCMO tolerate a staff that refuses to give its customers refund b/c the reason they gave was it'll take two weeks for us to get it and it'll be done through a chain of emails? Does Buca KCMO tolerate a staff that incessantly and sarcastically say, "I can't help you b/c I don't have the money to give you" and "it's not rocket science" when all we ask for him to do is to please get the manager?This restaurant did not just ruin our order, but also our night when we were celebrating a special occasion that day. If you are thinking about celebrating an occasion or event here, I would suggest that you think twice before doing it or look at all the reviews, not just the good ones. You wouldn't want to ruin your special day b/c of two people who were being sardonic and discorteous.We were supposed to leave with excitement to taste the food we ordered and celebrate, but instead we left with anger and frustration. Never again will we go to KCMO's Buca location.

Holly Du: We had Cupini’s cater our wedding, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Matthew was so easy to work with and was adaptable when we needed to update or change things. The food was delicious as always, and they gave us SO MUCH. By the end of the night we had two pans of lasagna, one pan of tortelloni, one pan of primavera, and one pan stuffed full of bread to take home. Almost all of our guests left with smaller to-go boxes as well! The only thing of concern to note, is that some of our guests mentioned that the chaffing dishes didn’t have their warmers turned on, so the food wasn’t hot; however, everyone still loved the food. Would highly recommend using Cupini’s for your wedding!

The chicken in the parm was rubbery like it was cooked 5 hours before and microwaved for a minute because it obviously wasn't not enough to melt the deli slice cheese on top. It looked like it was cooked before we even decided to come here. Food came out suspiciously quick. The Alfredo sauce was completely bland. I even had to chace someone down for our garlic bread they forgot. Fix your soda machine. I am never coming back. I wish I could give it zero stars.

But you need to know it is located behind the building.Wheelchair accessibility: I don't know how wheelchair friendly this place is. The parking lot is behind the building and either up stairs or you have to walk all the way around the building to the front. Interior is very tight, no handicap automatic doors.

Adam Kramer: This is the best homestyle Italian food in KC. We debate this with friends all the time, but please go here. Their eggplant parmigiana is the best in the city, maybe even that we’ve ever had. Amazing meatballs and their goat cheese and marina appetizer is fantastic. You have to make a reservation though, and good luck getting in with a larger party. That’s the only downside, but it’s because the location is small.

Daniel Hoerr: What an experience! I sat solo at the bar and happened to come in about 5 minutes before the end of happy hour on a Friday night. The bar staff were quick to point out their HH menu and took my order asap to get in a couple specials before it ended. Service was phenomenal, you can just tell these people care about their guests. True hospitality. And the food - From apps to pasta to oysters to dessert right down to the bread, olives and oil, this place is top tier. One Might expect that from a chef with a James Beard, but it’s still impressive. Every detail seems to shine. In a lifetime of excellent culinary experiences, Farina shines. And I don’t give that praise lightly. Also perfectly paired cocktails and wines. Che buono!

On side is a little louder than the other. We sat on the quieter, more romantic side with comfortable wing back chairs. Our server Betsy was attentive, kind, and courteous.The star of this place is the food. There is a valid reason why the average rating is 4.8. Such delicious flavors. The pasta is house made. Nothing we ate was overly seasoned. I ate a wood fired ribeye which is better than most steakhouses. My wife had leek campanelle and seared halibut.For dessert, we ordered the panna cotta flight- and absolutely must order item.Yes, this is a fine dining restaurant, but it is a fabulous one at that! Well worth my money and a fun experience.

N B: Horrible. I ordered ‘SPAGHETTI CACIO E PEPE’ earlier this evening. It was drier than Sahara desert and uncooked. I tried taking two bites, gave up. Inedible.We spoke with waitress and she said that’s how it is. I don’t believe that because another one of my friends ordered the same thing, it was properly cooked and swimming in sauce or melt cheese. Onion rings were cold. I’d give 0 stars if possible.This is probably the worst food I have ever had in my life.I won’t go back and will discourage others.
