Though R Mech is a self-described expert in heat pumps, the first technician said my thermostat just needed replaced, so I was disappointed when it proved to be a misdiagnosis after purchasing and installing a new one with same issue. When they came back out to try again, it was obvious the new technician did not have experience with this type of heat pump and was struggling to interpret his own diagnostic codes, so all in all I paid $99 for no accurate diagnosis, and wasted time. Eben Fowler: I invited six different companies to provide proposals for the replacement of our main furnace/air conditioning unit, which had served us well for more than 30 years.Greg Latshaw, one of Midwest's 'Comfort Advisors,' came to our home and carefully measured and inquired about our needs. He spent a fair amount of time working on three separate recommendations for a system, based on various levels of efficiency. He was one of the few whose proposal included details about rebates from Evergy and the equipment manufacturer, Lennox in this case.After carefully comparing the six proposals, Midwest came up to the top. None of the proposals were inexpensive, but Midwest's proved to be the best value, in part because of the extra work Greg did to present rebates that helped mitigate the high cost somewhat.Our installers worked extremely well as a team. Each had his list of responsibilities, one working in the basement to remove the old furnace and coil, the other outside removing the old compressor, and then each working on installation of the new equipment. They then worked together to finish the details and test the system, and every aspect of their handiwork was done with pride...cables and drain hoses neatly installed and wire-tied for a very clean and professional final project.They had to return a few days later to install new thermostats that weren't initally available, as well as new humidiers (including one for the existing smaller system that serves the upper level), and then return a third time when I requested a change, the installation of a wireless thermostat gateway. Each time they came they were right on time, which is something I value greatly and the primary installation was completely finished on the first day. They also made sure the floors and stairs down to the basement were covered when the old equipment was hauled out and the new brought in. And, they slipped on shoe covers every time they came in until those covers were laid down.So when it's time to replace the smaller upstairs unit, I won't be calling six companies, but will call the best, Midwest! She is 93 and is on oxygen. I have nothing but good things to say about this company and would highly recommend.

Dustin Robinson: Honest, experienced, and competent. After I had one of the big names in town "repair" my A/C (replace the blower motor), it still wasn't working properly. That same big name came back out and told me i was actually also low on refrigerant, and wanted another $400 to perform a leak search. My father in law then recommended C&S Furnace for future repairs. Bill from C&S came out the next day and quickly diagnosed & fixed my problem (new blower motor had been wired incorrectly by the big name company). Bill then took me outside and verified the refrigerant levels were correct. As we headed back inside, Bill told me "I think when you walk back inside, it's going to feel like your house is finally starting to cool off" and he was right! C&S has reasonable pricing and their technicians are experienced and honest.

They went completely beyond my expectations!! They studied our floorplan, listened to our concerns and talked to several experts to recommend the best "fit" for our needs. My 26 year old furnace finally died on Wednesday, and they had a cancellation for Thursday, but they didn't want us to suffer even one cold night, so they sent a tech FREE OF CHARGE to get it running. Furthermore, they went above and beyond with stellar customer service and returned on a separate visit to remove (dismantle) a large concrete ac base. The man is a perfectionist and a professional. It's nice to know there are still people who take pride in their work. When I got home, I would not have known he was there were it not for the new furnace sitting in our basement. He left the place spotless. We did run into a problem with the air conditioner compressor, and Doug was at our house immediately to deal with it. He is a man of old school integrity whose word I trust. Instead of looking for excuses he stepped up, acknowledged the problem, and got the Lennox rep. involved. With no hesitation the result was a new compressor. Both City Wide and Lennox stood behind their work and their product. Dylan Anderson: The two gentlemen that came out to service my furnace were great. Their diagnosis was not. They said I needed a new gas valve for my furnace and quoted me $750. I called to get a breakdown of the price and the guy on the phone said "that's our repair flat cost, if you don't like it you can do it yourself". Didn't even give me a price of the item nor labor, just flat out rude. So I called another company to take a look and the furnace just needed to be cleaned. The pressure sensor was off because of build up in the drainage lines. I saved myself over $550(they still charged me half of "shipping charges" for a part I never got) by getting another opinion simply because of the way the guy on the phone disrespected me as a customer. Trying to charge a customer for a part they don't need AND not explaining the price shows what kind of company this is. The two gentleman that came out should look for a company with integrity, they deserve better much like the customers do.Service:HVAC system maintenance
