Kevin responded quickly and met with us at my parent's home to understand the needs and then created a care plan for dad. Kevin also provided recommendations on things to do in my parent's home to better help dad with his care. Adrian was the Elder Care caregiver who provided in-home services (including bathing, dressing, and light housekeeping). Mom and dad were very pleased with the care and services by Adrian. Adrian was conscientious, caring, and performed all services requested. Kevin was also very helpful working with me and the LTC insurance company regarding LTC claims. We highly recommend Elder Care as an in-home care provider.

We were all highly impressed with it, so we asked for an agreement ASAP. Elder Care immediately scheduled in-home nursing coverage for the days and hours we requested. They were fast and flexible.The nurses were professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. She fell and broke her arm, leaving her unable to dress herself, cook, clean house, and other things that did not qualify for health services under Medicare. She needed temporary home care assistance in order to alleviate the facilities’ concerns and stay in her residence until her arm healed. I found the right people for the job. Alice had a clear understanding of what was needed and the final objective: my stepmother regaining her ability to live independently. Both my stepmother and I are very pleased with the service and every one of the caregivers has been exceptional. My wife has Parkinson's Disease and needs someone with her most of the time to keep her from falling. She can't dress or go to the RR by herself anymore. Also doesn't cook or clean the house. That falls entirely on me and my 4 kids convinced me I needed help. Help in the way of a break from time to time. Visiting Angels to the rescue. The cost seems high at first but well worth it after you calculate how you feel after you have used them a few times. You ask yourself, how did i ever get along without them the last few years? After a while the wear and tear takes a toll on your body and you don't even realize it. I am so thankful that my daughter suggested Visiting Angels to give me a break from time to time so I can survive this situation a few years longer. The last year was really getting to me and I was wearing pretty thin in the patients dept. Now I look fwd to everyday that I live with what God has prepared me for. I was impressed with the caregiver from day 1, when she asked me numerous questions about safety issues - use of the car, stove, medications, etc., as well as some historical background so she could engage in meaningful conversation. I especially like how she takes notes or pictures to record how Mom is doing during the day - the good times as well as the challenging ones. Francie Abbott: The Preferred Care at Home team put together an all-star team of compassionate caregivers for my grandparents to allow them to stay in their home. My grandparents had resided in their home for over 60 years, and it was essential for us to keep them there as my grandfather went on hospice. They did an initial home assessment recommended equipment and supplies needed to provide for services, and contacts for those supplies. We come from a close and large family, which can be overwhelming for most, but the caregivers fit right in like family. I would recommend Preferred Care at Home to any of my family members or friends.

Chris Wilcox: The firm came highly recommended, and had great reviews. They were also the most prompt to schedule a home visit with me and seek our business.There have been some great care givers. However, in two weeks there has been nothing approaching a reliable schedule of whom is going to be there at any given time. Also, I have had issues with the caregivers not performing the basic tasks set forth. One of whom would not touch my Mother. There has also been a caregiver who left the house without relief to go get fast food for herself. Caregivers leaving without their replacements being present to relieve them, and a caregiver who ruined food because she refused to follow my repeated direction and that printed on the bags of frozen food to keep the contents frozen. That same caregiver was also found to be taking food unauthorized for her own consumption, instead of bringing her meals as required. I am sorry I chose this company and and now strongly considering my options to get competent, reliable, honest care for my terminally ill Mother.

Unfortunately the family decided to take a different path; preferred care care called twice more to provide additional support and teaching about in home care. I'm pretty darn picky when it comes to my loved ones. With my background, I am also very aware of the options for seniors. The best option by far, keep them at Home, Healthy and Happy. That's what I do. The benefit to myself, having "Peace of Mind' is absolutely Priceless. I truly Love these folks and all that they do for us.

Heidi Baty: Customer Service Stinks!!Millie, the person that fields the calls is TERRIBLE ! There is no follow thru and she says she will call back and never follows back up. (We tried to get assistance for my mother 6 months ago and she said she would look into it, and never called. We tried again yesterday and once again said she'd call right back and never did. They seem understaffed. Steven Krohne: FIVE STARS!!!!We contacted Home Instead on short notice with an urgent need to provide 24 hour per day on site support for a family member. They performed above and beyound our expectations (which were quite high to begin with) from the office staff to the individual Caregivers. They worked flawlessly with our family and Hospice Caregivers as well. We highly recommend Home Instead for anyone needing In Home Care.

Dave Schisler: Home Instead has provided excellent care for my aging Mother in her home. The care giver is kind, and does a great job keeping the house clean and orderly. She also spends much time with my Mom in conversation and card games. The Home Instead front office has been very responsive in communicating with me, and planning ahead with needed changes to help Mom in her journey with this stage of life. In summary, a highlight of the Home Instead organization is the relationships formed by the caregivers as well as management and professional support personnel. KC Mom: The Liberty, Missouri, franchise seems to have a hard time keeping staff and constantly suffers from a shortage of qualified caregivers. It is extremely frustrating to learn that a caregiver has called in and Home Instead cannot cover the shift, leaving the patient and their family high and dry. :(
