Absolute shame that they knocked down a classic part of Plaza architecture for someone who has decided to pull out. That's going to be a hard recovery and I suspect that the soul of the plaza is going to continue to get sucked out of the place by developers. Update: sure enough. Plaza lighting really sucked this year.

Les Bro: It is always nice to get to the Plaza. It's a great date night place. I love it in the summertime in the evenings. The fountains are beautiful and romantic.There are lots of restaurants and stores to stroll through during the day. If you are visiting Kansas City, the Plaza is a great place to go. You will see all types of people, especially in the summertime. It is a great place to people watch.Unattended teens have a 9:00 pm, police enforced curfew.

Carter Taylor: It’s a known issue that the restroom accommodations are a huge issue and that the lack of publicly accessible facilities is a major failure of planning, a barrier to those who have disabilities and discriminatory against women. It does not matter if it’s you or your small child, they will not let you use the restrooms in many stores and even restaurants. They’ll send you down the street and you have to hope that the one place that lets others use the bathroom will be open, have no line, and not be out of order like they often are when handling that volume of people. These policies may have been put in place to prevent the unhoused from being in the area, but they majorly impact other groups as well.

Frecky Lewis: I had to update my review after visiting Crown Center again last weekend with my family. I'm not sure if the owners of the mall know this, but in order to sell things your stores have to be OPEN. The stores in this mall all close at 6:00 pm on Saturday. We had just finished our dinner at Fritz's in the mall, and at 5:45 we walked over to their special "Fairytale" exhibit that was advertised as being open until 6:00. We found the door locked and couldn't get in. When another family came out through the door we poked our heads in and were told by the desk attendant "It's closed." I asked if the signs were wrong and pointed out that they said the exhibit was open until 6, and she said "No, the signs are right, but we stop letting people in before that." She had no hint of friendliness or sympathy for our two obviously very disappointed children. To the mall management: If you close your exhibit at 5:40, don't advertise that it is open until 6 -- or at least, advertise that fact clearly. Knowing the stores would be closing in 15 minutes, we wandered up to the toy store on the top floor and were told even before entering the store "Just so you know, we close soon." I assured them that we wouldn't take up any of their time by spending money there. We made a few quick passes down the aisle at 5:50 and it was clear that the employees had no interest in anything but shooing everyone out. Perhaps they could have said "We close shortly, but is there anything we can help you find quickly?" Nope. No interest in making sales. Amazingly, there were countless other families wandering around the mall and surrounding area at 6:15 looking for something to do, and I guarantee many of them would have spent money in these stores. People say retail is dying; after visiting Crown Center, I can attest that retail isn't just dying, it is committing suicide.

Norma Patterson: Crown Center is the perfect place to do your shopping. The selection of stores is great, the prices are competitive. Plus, the atmosphere is always welcoming.

I ended up wanting it a little tighter around the legs after the first go through and they took it back in no problem. The gentleman working the front that helped out with the fitting process was extremely courteous. Great experience, Houndstooth will be the place I recommend for anything suit related.

Matt Brantley: If the owner, Katie, is calling me berating me to take this down, then imagine what else she is hiding. For Valentines day, I pre-ordered "vased flower arrangements". If you look at the picture of the piece of paper, what I was promised was a large bundle of flowers in an actual vase for $60(!). What I actually received was 7 flowers in a mason jar. A Mason Jar is not a vase. And the flowers were really disappointing. This was super disappointing and felt like a clear case of false advertisement. I won't ever pre order something from here again. I called the shop to let them know I wasn't happy and I would like a refund and to return them. Katie answered the phone and didn't seem to care that it was false advertisement. She said "there should be 12 stems" and when I told her there was only 7, her excuse was that there should be 12 stems of flowers AND greenery. There was not even 12 stems altogether. Finally she then tried to coerce me into not returning them because "I won't find anything anywhere else". I don't recommend coming here because they have shady business practices. I plan on following up with Kansas Consumer protection because this is unacceptable. Take your business somewhere else because they don't care about the consumer.ETA: I would like to add that upon seeing this review, Katie decided to call me and get mad at me for "damaging their business's reputation". She is completely unaware that it is the consumers decision to determine if a product or service is considered acceptable. She argued that I shouldn't have left the review after I got my money returned. But that's not how rating a business works. The owner stalked my facebook profile and deemed me "a good person and someone who she would probably get along with" but is mad that I decided to target "Women owned business". I don't know why the hell she is bringing gender into this. But from the phone call she fully expected me to be happy with a poor product simply because I am a man and she is a woman. I am glad Katie has her politics figured out but you don't call a customer and berate them for tarnishing your companies reputation simply because you think I am "supporting the patriarchy." I firmly believe that the only reason she stalked my facebook profile is (through a mutual friend too) because she assumed I was some misogynistic jerk and she needed a reason to be mad about my glowingly negative review.

Brown House: Their “no kids allowed in the store policy” is bogus. I drove across town looking for a thrift store and found one on Google, thinking it would be great. First time here, I was excited. I was quickly met at the front by “security” telling me that I couldn’t bring my INFANT who was in a stroller in the store. I’m not sure why this is even a thing considering the messy bin concept. What was my child going to do; cry and annoy the other shoppers? There’s nothing to break or mess up so I really don’t understand. It was very hurtful and embarrassing to be turned away. Had I known, I definitely wouldn’t have wasted time or gas driving to such an establishment.

I used to shop here once or twice a month and have for years. I have only gone 3 times in the last year and each time it got noticeably worse. I spend an average of 3+ hours there.Not once in the last year was there ever a rotation of bins while I was there. This time there was 14 bins of shoes. NEVER have I seen this place have primarily only shoes, clothes and GARBAGE!! I frequently shop Goodwill Outlets, Goodwill Retail & Goodwillonline. I will not be back to this store nor will I recommend it to others until they make changes for the better.

barkman 69: This store is slowly but surely on the way to becoming one of the worst goodwill outlets in the country. Slow rotations, poor management on the floor and in the warehouse. Too add to the very slow rotations they have now decided that its a good idea to do very small rotations which sounds nice but if you're ever in here when it happens you'll soon realize that its 40-50+ people during these rotations with about 12 bins to look through. Not only is it a unpleasant shopping experience, it is a hazard. I hope whoever is in charge of making sure that things go well, looks at the countless negative reviews and makes a change starting at the top.

Josh Gray: The small rotations they have started going is hazardous and unsafe. They are expecting 50 plus people to be shipping in 10 bins. I was looking the other day and was pushed and bumped by multiple shoppers. When they rotate the half of the store it allows more space for people to shop and makes it a safer environment. Would love to see them to back to normal and just have everyone wait a little longer for rotations.

Elita G: I come here every few months for the past three years and I’m always surprised at what changes they’ve made. They don’t regularly switch out the bins. It used to be every two hours then every four and now they do not switch out the bins depending on how they feel. At 10:30 am in the morning the bottom of half the bins are visible. Prices increased again this year to $1.8+ per pound so you do pay about $5-$10 per heavy item. It’s also not an equal opportunity shopping experience, workers will play favorites and quote different prices for miscellaneous items. All the benefits of shopping at this outlet vs a regular thrift store are gone.

Also, have been told numerous times that the employees of all these thrift stores that they have first pick of ALL incoming donations and keep all the really nice stuff for themselves for free!!

Chrysler Electronic Lean Burn: This is a very unique Goodwill I've never been to one that had this setup. Things are sold here by the pound. This is the Liquidation Center I'm assuming for all the Goodwills in eastern Kansas and Western missouri. Kind of a last chance sale place and that's why things are sold by the pound. It took me a minute to get used to this setup the bins are always changing too I think every hour so these bins move around and constantly have fresh merchandise. Read the signs in my posted pictures and explains how everything is sold bought a couple of things here by the pounds. Unique setup for Goodwill I've never been in contact with one like this nice little it's hidden in Metro Kansas City so if you don't find it on the map you're not aware of it too much. But it is a nice little store for what it is. If you willing to dig through the bins you can find yourself some bargains! Recommended highly if you have some time to rummage around the bins. You might find a really good bargain!

We purchased a couch here in April 2022 with the warranty through Montage Furniture with it, which was offered to us when we mentioned we had cats. Sales associate said it would cover any and all pet damage up to 5 years. $149.99 extra for it. And for a $1300 couch that definitely seemed worth it. Some months later we ended up filing a claim with Montage which was denied and said they would not cover the damage, which is what we purchased the warranty for in the first place. I looked up Montage online and found an immense amount of bad reviews about them. But what made me feel we'd really been had was when I went on the Furniture deals website to find the couch we bought to make sure I was referencing it by name correctly, found it. The Benchmark. Then some weeks later it's name changed. Same couch, but now called something different, the Tracling. We should have done our research on all ends as now we are sat with a couch that wont be fixed under a warranty we paid for that should cover the damages and no refund for either. My advice to others to do your research first.

Run, run fast away from this business. Who asks for 100% payment upfront even before templating and if paying with CC a 3.5% fee? I will stick with another company that requires no up front payment, and accepts payment in full after customers are satisfied with the work and the owner is very professional!
