Dottie Graham: Everyone at DFF welcomes you with a smile, but I keep returning for Dani's Salsa class on Thursdays at 5:15pm. I started taking this class in mid -June and it's one of the bright spots of my week. You'll enter the room and leave everything but Salsa outside, you'll let yourself go out of your comfort zone, you'll meet strangers that become acquaintances and friends, you'll practice your basic step all over your house in between classes. Dani and the folks who join this class are what make it so special. Come dance Salsa with us!
Christy Mccarthy: Dance Fit Flow is truly amazing! I came from out of town to be in KC for a day, and I instantly knew I had to come take a class at Dance Fit Flow. Let me tell you, I am so glad I did! Dance Fit Flow is an incredibly welcoming environment, with amazing teachers! I took Kaylas mixtape fitness class and I LOVED it. Her class was great and was such a positive and uplifting environment! Being a dancer my whole life, having a studio that allows you to keep dancing, even after the intense dance days are in the past, is amazing! I can’t wait to try out a dance class, next time I’m in town! Love this place!

Natalee Merola: I’ve been going to Empire for a little over 2 years on a consistent basis. I love taking class here! I’m a professional actor and singer who’s looking to strengthen her dancing skills, and since I started coming here, I’ve improved so much! My favorite class is Kenny’s Thursday night hip hop class because not only does he give us top notch and high-level choreography, he also offers real industry knowledge such as how to do the little things in an audition that will increase your chances of booking a job. One of my favorite aspects about Empire overall, however, is the positive atmosphere. I’ve been to many studios where everyone is out to be the best in the class and tear others down, but that’s not the case here. We all encourage each other, want to see people succeed, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Shay Estes: I was recently the technical Director/stage manager/lead audio person on a 10 day production of Moulin Rouge. Empire Dance Academy provided the dancers and choreography and their sister company That’s Entertainment provided the actors/singers and produced the overall event. Both Ashlee and Kenny were kind, professional, so organized, and and an absolute joy to work with. During the run, we got multiple compliments on the choreography, and everything ran smoothly and like clockwork. I would absolutely encourage anyone to hire these people for a production.

Jeremy Collins: I Hired That’s entertainment / Empire to choreograph a birthday party performance with absolute non-dancer noobs. They were professional, supremely talented and kind to us beginners. An absolute pleasure to see them continue to thrive, shine and invest in their community. My daughter adores Kenny, and there’s a good reason why- he’s a salt of the earth good human.
David Morgans: Kenny and his team worked with us to choreograph and rehearse a show. I’m not a dancer and he was patient, compassionate, and empathetic to my skill level and always willing to meet myself and others where we were and make us shine! Talented teachers, dancers, and choreographers abound - a true gem of our artist community!

Kathy French: My daughter has went to this studio for two years this year was different. We tried a different class. It was way too young for her I called the very next day and left a message the next day stating it was too young and she wanted to try something new. I requested my money back. 105.00No one called me back .. Multiple calls .. Still no call back until tonight when I got charged again another 65.00 dollars I finally actually got someone. This person actually credited my account for the 65.00 .. The 105.00 is a big no. Not their policy. Customer satisfaction is not in their policy, Very disappointed.
Phyllis Balagna: When looking for a place to provide performing arts training, there are many factors to consider. First and foremost, the level of experience offered by the staff. The Kansas City Dance Company has a director that grew up dancing in a reputable studio, went on to perform in NYC with the industry’s leaders and in touring companies, on Broadway. The multi-talented staff that works with her is highly trained. Second, look for a solid population of upper level dancers. This shows what the staff is capable of doing with students. Third, find a place that is kid-centered on technique, leadership skills, team-building, and parent support. KCDC is the place to be. Training is personal and custom-designed.
Kale Talley: I am extremely impressed with this organization on multiple levels. Not only do they provide incredible dance training but they also have the best studio atmosphere. It's basically an extended family at the KCDC. Jen and her staff are the real deal and go above and beyond.

Crista Matt: After 14 years with this company, my kid and I are deeply disappointed with how they treat their staff. A primary dance instructor was terminated with no notice and right before the Spring 2023 performance rehearsals. Many of the students who have been dancing under her for years are heartbroken and it seems my teen has been put to the task of teaching these kids with no compensation. Horrendous business practice!Please help me edit this post by making one thing right, KCYA.
Amanda Lea: My 10-year-old has been taking dance classes here since she was 2 1/2. We absolutely love the teaching artists, staff, and community. The teachers focus on training, not competition. All of the dancers wear costumes that are age-aporopriate and truly look like the young ladies and gentlemen they are in stage. The community is diverse and feels like a family. I can't say enough about how much our family loves KCYA!
Tilman Achberger: The place seems great with lots of room for parents to sit while kids dance. I've also been impressed with their covid precautions.
Kieran Ford: I'm doing Shakespeare here, and I wanna thank KCYA for being the great space that they are!
