Teresa Thomas: It's Sunday and was out celebrating Moma Faye's 81st birthday, her restaurant of choice because baby the manager, round rude gentleman I would have left! The chef & our waiter was the bomb. We even got the drums. If he's this rude on the Lord's day to customers, no wonder he can't open tomorrow because of staffing. He's rude! 4-9 isn't long enough for you to have no customer service with your tone, actions or facial expressions. I will not return.

Frances Meeks: We had reservations for a Birthday celebration at 6:30pm. We were there on time as reflected in a bar bill receipt that read 6:19. We did not leave until 8:45pm. We were sitted at 6:50. We waited 40 minutes before we got our salad. We were serviced our meat before our rice. The food order contained errors. When we complained to the management, they said our party was not there on time. The customer service went down hill from there.

J Bern: I ordered the fried chicken curry and it came out quickly and was very tasty. The waitress was very nice. Their drinks are non refillable and water bottles will cost you $1 each but you are able to bring your own drink! I would recommend this place for smaller groups of 4 or less. It looked like there was a sweets shop in the same building, unfortunately they were closed when we went.
James: This is officially my favorite restaurant in KC! The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, with beautiful art on the walls and lots of natural light. Everything on the menu looks amazing and was obviously curated by the owner with a lot of care. The salmon onigiri was a great starter, the shrimp and calamari were so fresh and cooked perfectly, and the sasadango dessert imported from Japan was light and refreshing. The person who served our food was so nice and gave us recommendations for our food, which I really appreciated. This is a great place to go if you want fairly priced, delicious food that won't make you feel heavy afterwards. I feel very happy knowing I supported a small business and an owner who has very caringly brought fantastic and fresh Japanese cuisine to KC.

He got the teriyaki chicken bento, which came with very generous portions of rice, salad, veggie tempura and chicken and a very good miso soup. I got the two sushi roll lunch special, and while both rolls I got were good, I preferred the spicy tuna roll to the crab roll.We were seated right away and our table was nicely shaded even though we were buy the window. A great sushi lunch!

Cara: Went for a late lunch. Just had appetizers. The dumplings were flavorful. Crab Rangoon was nice and crispy. The buns were open face like a Taco. Fillings were very tasty. Texture of the dough was a bit too raw tasting for me but still good. Next time I would like to try the Ramen. I liked that they had outdoor seating as well.

Danielle Johansen: Not a bad steakhouse but I think I'd rather drive to KS to go to Toro if I had the choice. The food was hit or miss. I ordered the scallops which were great but the steak I ordered and asked for medium rare was cooked well done, this was the same for both my family members who also ordered steak medium rare. It was very tough to chew. The salad, onion soup, and fried rice, as well as my edamame, were all great though. As for the service, our waitress was on top of things and very nice. And our chef was fun and sociable, and did a few fun tricks which is more than I've seen at most hibachi places lately. The layout of the hibachi area is one big open space with several grills so when it's busy it can feel very crowded and get loud. I've been a few times and will probably go again.

Bianca Rooker: You can get Anything on their menu and you can’t go wrong. Liberty masabi is pretty close to home so we try to support them often it’s just a HUGE bonus that their food is amazing. We’ve been trying a new appetizer every time and again havent been disappointed once. The jalapeño tempura though is delicious!! I always get their sushi and haven’t had a bad roll, my husband gets the hibachi with friend rice and when I tell you the fried rice is different than any fried rice I’ve ever tried. It’s to die for. If you’re wondering if you should go eat here. You definitely should. Go in & dine. You won’t be mad and you’ll leave full!

Claude Van Horn: I had steak teriyaki, my wife had chicken teriyaki. Both were great. The miso soup was flavorful, but short on aroma. Price was a bit high for lunch, and we did not get a gyoza with the meal, which most Japanese restaurants serve as an appetizer. The dinner menu looked great, and there were plenty of choices on both the dinner and lunch menus. Portions were good and the presentation was very attractive. We have eaten there a few times, and do enjoy our visits.

S L: Pretty good for takeout hibachi. We had a chicken hibachi meal and filet hibachi meal. Both had good flavor and veggies and rice were decent too. It just didn’t wow us. Miso soup was good. We did get a crazy monkey roll for an appetizer and it was just ok. Might go back to try different things, but it did seem pretty pricey for the quality.
