Donald Ramirez: The Toy House is a place to visit. There is a great selection of toys for kids of all ages. The customer service is excellent. My only challenge is the hours of operation. The are not posted anywhere and the store appears to have one employee at any given time which means it is locked for breaks. That said, it was still a great visit.

Delaney then helped my two youngest bring their friends to life, with a cute heart ceremony, and even talked us into a scent for each. I almost wanted a bear for myself!They were out of birth certificates, but promised we could come back in at a later time and still do them, so we didn’t get outfits this time, but I told them we would pick out an outfit or two each for their new friends when we came back for the birth certificates. We really enjoyed our time here, and look forward to being back next week!Katrina and Delaney made my kids feel super special, and my kids won’t put down their new frog friends, even sleeping with them right now.

Andrea Brandt: Took my 7 yr old here for one of his Christmas presents. They let him help fill the bear with stuffing and then picked out clothes, shoes and whatever else you want to add. As expensive as this store is, I paid $70 for one multi colored bear, the stitching was coming undone about a week later. A little disappointed about that.

Dreka White: This was the first time I've experienced a cashier being as rude as the burnt bleached crazy hair Caucasian girl with the dirty vans. My daughter and I were shopping for sunglasses and the cashier moved BOTH RACKS away from us and shut the section down. No excuse me or anything so idk if she was racist or just ignorant. I'm so glad I've changed because she really deserved to be checked. She wasn't wearing a name tag but she has wild bleach blonde short hair and filthy shoes.

Lucy Hughes: I went into the independence location and felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed the moment I walked in.When I first walked in, there was a worker, young, long brown curly hair standing by the door who I suppose was meant to be the greeter. She just stared at me walking in, so I smiled and said “hello”. She immediately looks away. I still walk in and brush it off because I assume she’s just shy or young and still developing professional skills. I’m a teacher and came in to buy a bubble machine for my students and lucky what I needed was in the front display, right where you walk in. So I’m standing in the front isle making my selection and then another worker, also younger, bigger lady with short blonde hair walks up to the other worker that I had to greet myself, and I overhear her (and she didn’t even have the decency to whisper) tell the other to watch me and stand by the door. So the bigger worker goes to guard the door and proceeds to lock the door.After the two workers make it obvious that they are convinced I’m trying to steal (after me not being in the store for more than 2 minutes), I grab my item and check out as the other worker stands behind me as I checkout. Then as I’m walking out, the worker by the door unlocks it and lets me leave. I was blown away because this is the first time I’ve been looked at like a suspect while out shopping. It wasn’t that the two workers were rude and very unwelcoming. It made me wonder if they are like this to every customer? I know independence may not be the best area, but is it that bad where they have to lock you in the store and act paranoid when a customer comes in? I think five and below is great, but definitely won’t visit this location again…

shelli miller: It should be mandatory for businesses to change their name when it's based on price and then the store raises the price, they should have to undergo the charge of business renaming but they'd push that cost on to us as well. This is why you're getting a low rating, do better the options haven't been upgraded like your prices suggest.

Matt Santomasso: They sell items they don't even have. I waited over 2 weeks after buying a car seat they didn't have in the store to receive an email saying they're cancelling the order.

Sarah Metz: Went in looking for a car seat... Unfortunately they are out of a lot of car seats not sure if it's a supply chain issue or what. Associate said they couldn't get the one we wanted and offer to sell us a lower model car seat that was the floor model. I will absolutely not buying a floor display. Customer service could use some work at this location. As we were not greeted and had to track down someone because there were no associates on the floor... Car seats wasn't the only thing with low stock which is surprising because it's one of the few stores located in Missouri. The store that we used to go to in a different state was amazing and is why I will continue to go by every once in a while to check out there stock. Although after this visit it probably will be a while before I visit again.

BreAnna Angelic: Went there tonight in hopes of getting a car seat travel system, and applying for a credit card. They told me they could do it in store. The manager wasted an hour of my time trying to get her machine to work. Refused to enter any information in. She told me I could apply by texting and it would be the same they do. I did the text information and it said they would get back by mail in 10-14 days. All because the manager didn’t know how to do her job. Very irritated and can easily say I will not be returning to buybuybaby ever again. I’ll stick to target. She never apologized either and was pretty rude near the end.

Jennifer Simcox-Moore: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS! I have been trying to order two car seats for my children for the past week. The original order was online and I was given a 20% off entire purchase if I chose curbside pickup. So I submitted the order and almost immediately got a cancellation email. The coupon was no longer valid even though the order was cancelled. I tried again using my husbands 20% off email he had and it went through fine. So I went and used my work email to get the other 20% off and thought “Hey, so it’s a minor inconvenience for the savings”. Within minutes the second order was cancel. This time I call the store and they said they only had one in stock. Once again, my 20% off coupon was no longer good, even though the order was cancelled. So I go for a 3rd try, this time opting to just have the car seat shipped. I figured this way there wouldn’t be an issue with limited stock in stores as it was coming directly from the warehouse. Once again, the order was immediately cancelled. At this point I call customer service. Keep in mind this has been going on for days. I now have 3 pending charges that won’t drop from my debit card that amount to almost $1000 for orders that BBB cancelled. The customer service rep proceeds to tell me that they don’t have my money and that my bank is the issue. My bank tells me that BBB has a hold placed and they need to release it. Meanwhile, here I am $1000 in limbo and still no car seat. I asked that my call be transferred to a manager and when she transferred me, she hung up the phone. So that was an hour of my life wasted. Called the store in Independence and they basically shrugged their shoulders and said they couldn’t do anything or even contact someone at corporate to assist with this issue. BBB I am done with you!!! It is apparent that you are no longer the great value with amazing customer service that you used to be. Say goodbye to the thousands of dollars I have spent with you over the years! I hope others read this post and do the same!

Erin: Shameful that the employees have NO knowledge of their products. Their attitudes are awful. Dont ask for help because they will treat you like its a bother. Store manager is the worst! Store itself is great, my mother has shopped here since it opened for 10 grandchildren and spent thousands upon thousands of dollars and my MIL and GMIL have recently bought multiple big items and spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars however, it's the lack of knowledge and respect for customers.

Angela Snider: Over $300 for a 40 minute photo session. The printed photos are fine but they mistakenly emailed the zip file with only 1 photo. Its next to impossible to get someone on the phone at customer service and all they said was they'd call back (didn't). Went back physically yesterday and finally got a person who could handle who said they would resend but not to wait bc the email would not show up for an hour, it didn't. Day 3 and still no photo files and we are waiting for the store to open at 10 am to go back. Absolutely ridiculous.

This place has anything you can think of baby related...and even more you didn't think of.Unfortunately this particular location has quite a bit of room for improvement on the customer service front. I have had several instances where employees have gotten rude over the use of a coupon...which amazes me. They are sent out so frequently and nearly every customer has one. You would think that they would just take it and go on about their day, but I have gotten attitude from the cashier every. single. time. I've used one.Beyond that, I have had issues with one employee in particular who "assisted" me when picking out a stroller for my unborn (at the time) son. I had already purchased the Chicco Keyfit carseat and was looking for something compatible with that. I had narrowed my options down to two before going to the store to "test drive" them. Upon looking at stroller, she came over and strayed us away from the Chicco strollers to look at the higher-end models. After stating several times that I was not going to buy the Maserati on my Chevy budget, she finally got the message. However, at that point she went on a 30 minute tangent about how the carseat I had selected was not the safest model and I should have gone with the Britax or another European model because they have higher safety standards...are you kidding me!!? I did weeks of research before selecting a carseat- looked up safety and crash statistics, read reviews, watched videos...I couldn't believe it. At eight months pregnant, at the end of my budget, and trying to wrap up loose ends before our first child arrived I was being told that my selections were not the safest option and I needed to be spending more money. Do these people work off commission or something? There isn't a reason in the world I can think of that an employee should be conveying those sorts of messages to customers.For these reasons I try my hardest to keep out of this location specifically. Maybe with some better customer service I would return, but I would certainly be reluctant to do so at this point.

These situations are so frustrating when trying to support local business on a product that is cheaper on Amazon.
