Vanessa Vandermillion: Been going here since about 2016. First to the Northtowne location, which closed after CoViD and now to the Independence location. The staff are always incredibly friendly and personable. I would give them a 5 if they weren’t consistently out of the product I (and many others) love. Then it takes forever for shipments to arrive and while I know that’s mainly the suppliers fault, it is frustrating having to scramble to find something else when you have no idea when another shipment might be coming. Last time, I bought 5 of the 15 packs they had left in my flavor, thinking surely they’d have more in a month because that’s how long it would take me to go through 5 of them and a month was plenty time for an order to arrive… Sadly, I was wrong. I don’t understand why they don’t do double or triple orders of popular flavors, but like I said, super frustrating.

Says a lot about this company to keep good employees. Owner is nice as well, stand by the product, very helpful.

I had enough of her attitude by that point and replied,"not to me you don't" and took my $87 worth of business to vapor maven.

They said over the phone they'll return them but when I went in the store they said other wise. Vapor maven a mile down the road on noland can hook you up and on top of that vapor up is charging $100 for a $30 item that vapor maven is selling.... Run away from vapor up as fast as you can.

I know this has to do with the supplier but it does make things difficult when trying to quit smoking if I can't get the product when I need it.That said, the shopkeepers are really knowledgeable about good substitutions when they are out of my first choices.

I’m giving it one star for customer service, because every time I’ve visited, employees have been beyond accommodating, helpful and insightful. They really do go above and beyond.I’m deducting four stars because what’s the point of purchasing a cigar, only to throw it away because it’s so dry? This time, I purchased an Opus X, which I had pre-cut. I was planning on taking a leisurely stroll with a flavorful stogie, but the second I lit up the cigar, the leaves cracked between my fingers. It was SO dry. I’d expect this if the cigar had been sitting out for days or even hours, but thirty minutes? C’mon! This is the second time.Say it with me. HUMIDIFY. YOUR. CIGARS! This is cigars 101. The staff seems very knowledgeable and takes their time to make sure you are comfortable and informed. They answer all your questions. Great selection of pipes and pipe tobacco. Lots of lighters. Lots of ash trays. Lots of humidors.Their lounge is wonderful. It's full of comfy leather chairs and there's almost always a game on to watch. They don't serve alcohol as it's not a bar. But if you happen to bring in your own flask I don't think they mind. Very convenient location as well. It's a relaxing place to enjoy the cigar you just bought.Update 2022-11-11Nothing has changed. Hadn't been here since the COVID lockdowns a couple years ago. Went last night and I was very glad to see that it hasn't changed.

Plugged it in, followed the directions, took off after 5 min because regardless what it says I make sure my vape doesn’t fry from overcharge or overheating. Stops working. Give it a little bit, try again, BURNT TO A CRISP.Pretty upset at that point but whatever, I have a backup. As I bought 2 at the same time. Didn’t even work because I only checked ONE before I left. Called when I got off work. Let them know the deal.“Sorry we don’t do replacements on disposable vapes.”Excuse me.. you sold me 2 disfuncional vapes. I’ve never had this happen before ANYWHERE. R&M? Sure, but they always replace it within 24 hours if it defects at it’s a dream. Which is why I stuck with it so long but it’s always out of stock in the flavours I like.This whole experience wasting $54 and they can’t even replace a product they sell that they can probably get their money back on is such horse sh*t. Sorry not sorry. One defective vape, no biggie. 2 what the hell are you selling? And that policy? I literally just wasted $54 on defective product. There’s no sense in this what so ever.No hate towards the staff, love the store, but that’s a bs policy and I feel bad the staff has to follow that and get the brunt of it.

Michael Epstein: Watch out, they do not take back items, even when they don't work right. The Little Dipper doesn't hold a charge and they wouldn't take it back. Poor product, poor service. But, they did want to sell me something else.

C B: I've always loved this place. The vibe is great, very KCMO. There's a good selection of vinyl in the music shop, lots of great incense/incense burners, both the smoke shop and the love shop usually have a great selection, too. They frequently have some sort of sale or clearance items available to browse. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable about the products up there, and it's fun when they have a sale. Sometimes, I end up looking at something I would not normally buy, or wasn't looking for that day, but it's enough of a discount at the time to be worth the purchase. This is without anyone overselling me, simply while having a friendly conversation about what's currently in stock. If the price is right, sometimes it's like, "Shut up and take my money!". There seems to be a little something for everyone in there, too. I always leave happy when I stop in, even if I can only afford some of my Wildberry incense or a pack of rolling papers that day. This store is a Kansas City Area staple, if not an actual landmark by now. Please shop here, so they can stay open forever!

Madelyn Thom: Cool store, if it had better customer service. I bought a turntable from here yesterday, went home to set it up and it didn’t work properly. It would only turn on if the power cable was halfway out of the port and when I got it to work, it stopped spinning almost immediately and wouldn’t spin again after that. I tried to return it today and the manager (Sherman) was EXTREMELY rude to my boyfriend who tried to explain what the issue was. Not only did they refuse to refund my money, limiting me to store credit, but they wouldn’t exchange it for a different turntable of the same price, and told us that he “would lose money” and would only accept our exchange if we bought a different one for 100+ more dollars. And we would then have to also purchase external speakers for it as well. I assume this attempt to upsell was due to our age (18) This was the absolute worst experience with customer service I have ever encountered and would never recommend buying anything from this store.
