Tori Ormiston: My son went here starting in pre-primary all the way to kindergarten. This is the best decision we have made for our son. All of the teachers love the children like their own and always encourage kindness, respect, and curiosity. Amazing school!

If you want your child to be a student of the world and to grow academically this is the place. Lori Smart and Steve Ward are passionate about what they do. My children aren't just students here, they are loved everyday and treated as they are theirs!There will always be an unhappy customer with any business because some people cannot be pleased. I actually feel saddened to hear there are some who have had a misunderstanding or seen a misrepresentation of what actually goes on daily. It is true that not every teacher has to be Montessori certified BUT that goes for all Montessori schools. However, this team has several who are actually certified and they encourage academic growth amongst their staff as well! As far as being "over priced" I would suggest you check out pricing in the area. Non Montessori day cares charge $600-800 a month. While Blue Springs Montessori and Lakewood Montessori charge $800-1000. This school is actually far less expensive!My son is in third grade. He attends school in the Blue Springs district and is and has been an incredible student. His first grade teacher estimated his reading level to be around the 8th grade level. He was ranked in the top 8 percent of all other second graders that took that test last year. Every category was well above mastery. I know Sunrise is to thank because they had him reading by 4 years old. My 3 year old daughter just started going this year. She already knows all the days of the week and the months and can even tell me them in Spanish. She is excited to learn and loves finding out who SHE is!!I can't recommend this school enough. All the staff have been a wonderful blessing!!! They will teach your children with hands on activities about Science , math, English, Spanish, History, art, and music. They will have the opportunity to be a part of growing a real garden and eating what they grow! They will learn about being resourceful and about loving our Earth! Check it out!!!

Gabriel P.: Horrible. Absolutely terrible. Lori Smart, the owner is a horrible human being, and should never be around children.Here's the truth. There was a child who had an allergic reaction to peanut butter, because that day they made bird feeders. The parents well informed Lori Smart that this child was allergic to peanut butter, and when this incident occurred, she covered herself by having all the teachers lie about what happened. Just so she wouldn't get sued. She sent out an email to all of the teachers stating that this is not to be discussed anymore, and that the child was never in contact with peanut butter. SHE FLAT OUT LIED! You have to be a sick person to do that. Her only concern is your money, not those children. It's supposed to be a Montessori School, but she has stated before on record, that she DOES NOT have to have a Montessori teacher present with our children.. What am I paying her for then? Day care!?!I see that she has posted here on Google review as a client, not like she owns the place.. Who does that? Someone who is willing to do anything to make money, and not the honest way. Please for the love of God, do not send your children here. It's an over priced daycare, ran by a horrible person.

And looked in on what was taking place there. And all I witnessed was the Childrens all playing! There was no teaching at all being done there!

Ashley Thomas: Our family is so happy with Sunrise Academy. As an educator myself I was very worried about finding the best fit for our son. I toured alot of traditional and Montessori facilities and was not finding what I was looking for.When looking for a school I was looking for advancement academically, self independence and an all around self awareness of himself and others. When I toured Sunrise Academy I was blown away, from the cleanliness, how organized and how engaging each teacher was. Lastly, I loved how each teacher was certified. Our son has been attending Sunrise Academy for 4 1/2 months now and I cannot say enough how impressed we are. My son is academically growing and gaining independence! If you are looking for an overall educational program, I strongly encourage you to have your child attend Sunrise Academy!

Mikayla Wilkinson: I’m really disappointed in this daycare. My son’s teacher admitted to grabbing my child and putting her hands on him and it resulted in my son not being allowed to come back. An adult put their hands on a 4 year old causing my child to freak out that he was being grabbed and my child got in trouble. Not the teacher who grabbed him. The teachers and workers didn’t even try. They could care less. I got a phone call literally everyday that my son didn’t want to take a nap. The director was “watching” my child and he almost ran out of the building because she wasn’t paying attention. It was always something with these people. This place is an absolute joke. My son deserved better treatment than he received here.

Sachia Perrine: I love that you send information electronically. It details out their day. I love the pictures taken in the day. I love your teachers! The room setups are made for kids. Table close to ground and not high chairs. It gets them ready for real home life dinner table eating. I love that you make it convenient and provide diapers and sunscreen for minimal cost. Your security and checkin is automated as well. There is not much else I could ask for...i think only thing you don't have is a webcam but I get detailed reports on my child's day so I feel like I'm right there in the day.

Bre Dawn: My son has a developmental delay, he was not taken care of properly at the facility. He would come home bruised or with bite marks, scratches. We would not be told how these occurred and with his age he could not tell us.we had some medicine in his diaper bag that his grandparents had given back to us they where giving it to our child without consent or knowing if we had given it to them or a time we had(wasn't sick at the time there was 0 reason they couldn't of asked before distributing). The male in charge of the two year olds grabs at children and screams at them.My son has allergies to pampers he will literally start bleeding by wearing them he had pampers in his box mixed with his huggies when we went to clear out his cubby.The staff is non friendly my son learned nothing but the F word in on there care I since quit my job to help improve his learning ability( I in no way have had training ) but my son has learned over 50 new words In 2 1/2 months he has improved motor skills and social skills, he no longer has behavioral issues. This place is to expensive to not do anything to help a child developmentally wise.

D. Tillman: We like that the student/teacher ratio is low. We also like that we receive daily updates, when our son in in school. The children are not forced to sit at a desk all day, but are asked to be creative and express new ideas.

Wendy Wilkins: I like that my child is being taught a variety of things. This is not a day care where she is just left to play with toys all day. Being with children her age and interacting in age appropriate learning activities is improving her developmental progress a lot. I also like the detailed daily report that I can access throughout the day from an app on my phone. Any questions or concerns I have are quickly addressed and communication with staff is awesome. I highly recommend this learning center for your day care needs.

Amber Windham: My son and I love the teachers at Creative World! They are wonderful with all the children and they are great at what they do. My son has been going to this preschool for approximately 6 months and his speech has greatly improved. He learns so much everyday and will be ready for kindergarten next year! I would definitely recommend this school to everyone!

She didn't have lice she doesn't have it, the director made it sound like he didn't believe me.

Gretta Moore: Ma'Lisha has done my facials for 3 or 4 months now. She is very good at what she does, is very professional, and is very knowledgeable. I Usually don’t do this but , I recently received a facial and somehow contracted Covid , I am angry and frustrated as I have a family , who now I cannot see , because the work environment that summit salon provides isn’t well kept nor clean for us (clients). I RECOMMEND summit salon invest in taking the time to clean and sanitize there work spaces for safety of each client and Therapist that comes through the door. I pray and hope nobody experiences the same thing. Very unsafe.

Elizabeth Borghardt: One of the worst schooling decisions we made.Teachers and administrators we so unkind to my 3 yr old son. We withdrew him immediately when we found out he was made to sit in a corner in the principals office for 6 hrs by himself. They did not call and inform us of their decision to discipline him this way until the end of the day. Had I known this was happening we would have picked him up early. I/we still have PTSD over our short lived experience there, and can’t even drive past the school with my son in the car, or else he’ll bring up details of his experiences there. We switched him to a nearby Montessori school that was so much more supportive and communicated with my family in a much better way.

Celeste Johnson Frehner: GMA is the best! Our son loved GMA and learned so much here. His teachers are kind and patient yet expect great things from every child! They help them to develop in so many ways. They helped my son learn to read as a 4 year old, count, do addition, subtraction and division all before kindergarten. They use many Montessori items in the classroom to assist the children in learning these concepts. Additionally, kindness and courtesy is always emphasized. They encourage and teach independence, and have far exceeded our expectations. Thank you, GMA!!!

We could not be happier with the people, their program, the incredible balance they provide for these young minds and the overall experience. We are very grateful for the growth we have seen in our child as a result of the mentorship these educators provide. I cannot say enough good things about the Montessori model or Global Montessori.

Sara Soseman: I researched over 10 different options and put our names on several waiting lists, before committing to a school for my then 2-year old daughter. I was attracted to Global Montessori's focus on the development of the whole person - physical, social, emotional, & cognitive. With a shy and sensitive kid, I was hoping that this kind of a start to her schooling would foster more confidence and critical thinking skills than the typical preschool environment. My expectations clearly weren't high enough, since we've seen that, and so much more.She started in the Toddler room in the old GMA location, on the Country Club Plaza. We moved with the school into it's new Prairie Village home, and have been thrilled with the expanded facility and space, not to mention it is just down the road from our neighborhood. The staff have actual degrees in Montessori education, and they are some of the most patient and supportive people I have ever met. My daughter is now in a "Childrens House" classroom, with students aged 3-6. She is happy and confident and excited to see her teachers and friends, every single day. I wish I felt that way about going to work at my own small business, every day!I like that GMA has a partnership with a local organic, real food company that provides all of the GMA students with snacks and completely natural, whole food lunches. I wish that they had more customized options than the 2 offered - standard or vegetarian. Meals are served family style, and the children serve themselves, so custom meals are just not practical. I get that. But my little one is allergic to dairy, and the standard offerings tend to use cheese regularly. So we deal with the sniffles and mild milk allergic reactions at least once a month. I don't know how tree nut allergies are handled, so if that is a concern, you should ask the hard questions!As I look towards kindergarten and elementary school, I am confident that we are staying with GMA for the next few years, at least. I never intended to have a child enrolled in a "private school," beyond pre-school. We live on the KS side and pay the taxes to live in a great school district. But I cannot identify one single thing that the Shawnee Mission school district could offer for my kid that would be better than the foundation she is receiving at the Global Montessori Academy.

Genna Stowe: GMA has been the best decision we've made for our kids. Our oldest started at age 2 and was in the first Elementary class offered. She completed the program (which at the time only went to 3rd grade) and we're so thrilled with that experience. Our son also started at age 2, and is now almost 5. Our daughter was reading at a 5th grade level before she was 8 years old, and our son is already beginning to read. They both LOVE school. It is apparent each and every day that the kids there are learning and their minds are growing. What they do there is tremendous! I wish every child had the opportunity to learn and be nurtured like the kids at GMA. What a world that would be!!

Alex Naseramini: Awesome gym! great staff! just word of warning do not leave any of your personal things unattended for even 5 minutes it will get stolen. 2 different occasions I’ve left my jump rope and boxing gloves by the bag and within 5 minutes some guys decided to steal them and it’s not the gyms responsibility.

Tom Riddle: There is a huge problem with people making tik tok videos and protesting at this gym. They think they are above the law here. After placing new laws in affect around the state people think it's OK to bother others.They have signs in this gym that state do not use phones for photography but yet people still do it. We are working with local law enforcement to clean up this gym also.

Ro Ro: It’s been a great experience coming to Genesis. I’ve had a lot of great trainers and recently trained with Terell (T) and I got to learn new stretches before working out. The environment has always and continue to be welcoming and I appreciate that the most!

Sean Pertzborn: Genesis is a great place to work out, albeit a bit on the expensive side. However, their trainers are top notch and completely worth the extra investment if starting out or getting back into the groove.I've been working with Tyler K. for almost few months and am not only down almost 40 lbs already but I've enjoyed every training session immensely. I'm a big guy with a lot of weight to lose and Tyler has not only kept me motivated throughout this process, but has been able to push me to my limits every session as well without risking injury. If you're thinking about joining and looking for a solid trainer, I cannot recommend him enough.

Britny Thissen: I've been going to the gym for a year (they make you sign a year contract to get their discount). It has progressively gotten worse. There are people recording themselves everywhere. You always end up in someone's videos. People park WHEREVER they want. Including the bosses who park in no parking fire lanes. I was even blocked in one time by someone who didn't park in a parking place. I couldn't leave. Hardly anyone cleans the weights or equipment when they are done. I highly don't recommend this gym. Not for $100 a month

He spent the time to explain everything and gave a personal tour of all the facility has to offer. Highly recommend taking the time to come in and talk with Brent and get a membership.

Aurora Igle: Due to my work overload unfortunately I need to end my membership. When I called I was told to come in and cancel the membership because you can't call/ email/ or in general go online to close your account. I came in and had to wait for someone because the front desk couldn't do it. Finally someone was up there to help.When I spoke to him he informed I couldn't stop my membership unless I paid the $200 right then and there. Meanwhile you could just cancel it and let me make payments like I already do. Instead he tells me "you guys never pay it!" I'm not sure who you guys are???? But I'm not you guys, I'm a customer who was trying to do this the right way. ...... 2weeks later I'm getting phone calls to help resolve my problem, the moment I say I want to close and make payments on the $200 closing fee! Again... I'm told they will not close it unless I pay $200 right then and there. I tried to leave a BBB review but they are not accredited. There's no way I can start and end a lease on everything but a gym membership, this is definitely poor business practices. And then I was told my balance would continue to accumulate smh I would never recommend this place

Adam Wilcox II: Nice facility. Lots of great equipment, well kept locker rooms, nice aquatic area. Lots of amenities onsite, lots of classes available that are covered in your membership depending on what you sign up for.

Danny Herndon: My experience with Genesis has been the single worst experience I have ever had with a corporate company. These crooks ended up taking over $1,200 from me after I tried on two different occasions to cancel my membership... after i formally canceled my membership on the second time, they continued to bill me for 14 months citing that my signature on my cancelation contract was "illegible". However, they never even attempted to contact me about said "illegible" signature. I was told that I would be contacted by a regional manager.. and have yet to hear anything.I am not the type of person to write reviews on companies, but this experience was so outrageously crooked I CANNOT EXPRESS it enough, DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE.
