Shaye Scritchfield: The pastors of this church may only initially come off as caring and charasmatic. However, they are deeply LACKING in knowledge of trauma informed care. As a mandatory reporter and educator, I'd say this is NOT affirming leadership for children and anyone not exclusive to this religious denomination. I have attended quite a few services here, to support my parents spiritual journey, despite me being agnostic. The congregants are generally pretty laid back, but are also very much CODEPENDENT on their shepherd's voice. On most of my visits here, the preacher was BATTING FROM THE PULPIT. I've heard more sermons about LEGALISM than grace here. Ive witnessed the same behaviors from them in other public spaces. This establishment is also very ANTI-LGBTQ+ and upholds many outdated and scientifically IMMORAL codes. It's an incredibly FUNDAMENTALIST society. The pastor won't hesitate to metaphorically "kick you when your down" if he feels the need to preach on any certain topics, even if HE KNOWS you're sensitive to them. Gentlness and discernment are definitely NOT their strong suits. Visitor discretion is advised. If you have been abused by the church world, please PROCEED WITH CAUTION and know what your getting yourself into. I've heard stories about MANY people being mistreated and spiritualy ABUSED here. This is not a safe place for vulnerable and broken people. As someone involved in interfaith studies, I can also confirm that their sign outside, which states "Everyone is welcome", is false advertising and CONTRADICTORY to how they preach and demonstrate.Thank you to anyone who reads this review and is willing to further investigate these pastors. I love the congregants and often worry for their mental and emotional well-being.SS
