William Deitrick: We had 3 requirements for choosing a painting company: Local company, great reviews, competitive price. We found that with Precise Image Painting. Trey was the only one that actually showed up to provide an estimate. I had an idea of the what the estimate would be by talking to co-workers who had their houses painted. He walked around house taking notes and asking questions. Went to his truck and 20 minutes later provided a printed estimate. My wife and I discussed it over the weekend and called Trey to schedule the job. Mother Nature caused some delays, but once the power wash is scheduled, things start moving quickly. Have your colors picked for house and trim because this crew works fast! Day 1 is all about prepping with caulking, replacing wood rot and any cosmetic work. Painting actually started towards end of day 1. Day 2 was all about painting. The crew works together well and understand their roles in the process. They are all very personable. Trey did final walk around finding minor issues and had them fixed. For painters, the job itself is their calling card. Trey had 3 of my neighbors ask for estimates on Day 2. The paint on my home was 15 years old and in very poor condition. I received a very reasonable quote from him the next day. I waited till fall to schedule him. He told me he was a couple of weeks out. He contacted me about the power wash schedule 2 weeks later then the calk work a few days after that. He came by on the following Sunday to point out some rot issues. We worked out the cost and he started the next day. He finished Tuesday just as he had scheduled.I was shocked at how good this turned out. He had bid 13 gallons of paint but based on the condition of the home it took 27 gallons. I was so pleased that he put the extra time and effort into making my house perfect. After he got started there were a couple of things I did not like about my plan. I asked his professional opinion about making some changes and he gave me excellent advice.Trey was on the job with his crew the entire time. He made certain this job was done correctly. Tiffany Pollard: On January 6, 2021 I contacted Precise Image Painting via email & Facebook messenger. The owner Trey & I chat over messenger to which he roughly quoted $400 to paint our 70 sqft bathroom. We scheduled an appointment for the next day 1/7 6:30 PM for him to view the space. By 6:45 that day he had not arrived so I messaged him. He called to let me know his child's sporting event ran over & asked to reschedule for 1/8 6:30 PM. On 1/8 around lunch time I confirmed the appointment via text. He arrived at 6:55 PM, 25 minutes late, but no big deal as I knew he was on his way.He looked at the space, & we discussed specs such as paint type. The final quote received was $425. We decided to add on the smaller (40 sqft) ensuite bathroom for $550 total to make the job more worth his while. I asked about the next steps. He advised he would prepare a contract, email it, & contact me between 1/12 - 1/13 with a tentative plan to begin the job 1/14.After our appointment on 1/8, I text him the color we were looking for. I text again 1/9 to confirm he had received it. No replies to either of the two texts. No contract received via email (I checked the spam folder).He called 1/13 evening, but I was unable to answer. No voicemail or text, so I text him letting him know since we hadn't heard back, we decided to move forward with another professional contractor (contract for both bathrooms was $442).Trey is a friendly gentleman & may be great at painting, but the lack of follow-through (no contract) & consideration for our time was disappointing. I share this not out of disrespect, but as an FYI to Trey & future customers.

Jordan Lawrence: I will do my best to fully describe how awful this experience was, but I fear my words will fall short (I would give negative stars if I could).When we first met with the team almost a year ago we were very optimistic. This was our first home building process & all who attended made my wife and I feel at ease about the whole process. We were shown a customer portal tool where we could have constant contact, ask questions, post pictures, see progress updates of our build, among many other things. This was great. My wife and I quickly attended all of our design meetings & the process began.It only took a few short weeks for the problems to begin. At the time we signed our contract the foundation for our home had already been poured. For weeks we were promised the basement was going to be finished so that framing could begin. Not only were we promised this several times, we were even told the basement was finished only for us to stop by the house & see no work had been done. That is when the lies & empty promises began. This became a constant theme with this company.Remember the portal I brought up earlier? They maybe responded twice. After months (June - December) of little to no communication from them they tell us they are "no longer going to use this tool because it isn't working as well as intended." I'm not sure how they came to this conclusion, because they never used it to begin with.Fast forward to December & framing is now at the point where we can do our electrical walkthroughs. This, my friends, is where our updates stopped. We had almost ZERO movement on our build from December to May. We finally convinced them to send us weekly email updates, but I'm not sure why we did. We were basically presented with a copy/paste response for months. Just this morning I was looking back through our emails & saw an update we were presented on January 27 that a service should start "any day now." Well, its May 6, & that service still hasn't happened.Communication was laughable. It was beyond difficult to get a straight answer from anyone about anything. There were upgrades we brought up in August 2021 that were not answered until January-March of 2022... questions that if answered would have saved us time (plumbing and electrical needed to be updated in certain rooms because they didn't answer our questions about our master bathroom for over 6 months).Our closing date moved 4 times:December 2 January 27 April 7 June 30 July 20We only found out about the April 7 & June 30 change in the WEEK OF THE PREVIOUS CLOSE DATE. We weren't even told about the last change, it just happened to be on the cancelation contract we signed.We put up with this for a long time. Almost a year of trying to be patient & understanding. Not only this, but my wife & I felt stuck because we had put money down towards this house, and we didn't want to leave it. We were so happy with the designs we had picked out. This was supposed to be our dream home. Our forever house to watch our kids grow up in. However, a person can only take so much. After these 11 months we finally both agreed to cancel our contract & move on. They did return our earnest money, which I am thankful for. However, they are refusing to return any money for upgrades we paid for. Updates, I might add, THAT HAVE NOT BEEN DONE YET.I will also add that, if you remember, no updates had been made to our house in almost 6 months. Yet the VERY NEXT MORNING after signing our cancelation contract, drywall is now magically being installed. It feels dirty, like we got forced out of the house via sheer negligence, so that they could sell the house for more than we signed for.My last point I'll make is through all of this there was not one shred of remorse shown from this company. There was not ever once an acknowledgement of the lack of work done on our house. Not one apology for needing to move the closing date AGAIN. Not one mention of none of the work getting done that was being promised week after week.Service:New home construction

Kristin Smith (Rembolt): I have never written a bad review for a company, but after our building experience with Dave Richards I feel that it’s important for others to know what to expect should they choose to build with DRHI. Building a home should be an exciting and rewarding process, but instead our experience was stressful, frustrating, and felt downright hopeless at times. Here were our main issues:-Total lack of communication from builder throughout the process and nearly impossible to get into contact with anyone when issues arise.-Careless work with lack of oversight: my husband caught many errors throughout the building process, including framing our 2nd floor to the wrong floor plan, adding a wall by a staircase that shouldn’t have been there, and putting plumbing in the wrong location in the basement (resulting in having to tear up concrete). All of these errors only added to the delays that were already happening.-Dealing with an incredibly rude realtor from Ask Cathy throughout the process-Total disregard for our punchlist once we closed. It has taken nearly a year for them to complete the items, and I’m certain we only got as many completed as we have because we have had to constantly follow up with them-And the kicker: a crumbling/discolored driveway that is clearly defective and should be repoured. (We confirmed this with several people in the concrete business).I have spoken with 9 neighbors who also built with Dave Richards and every single one of them had as poor of an experience as we did with similar issues. I strongly suggest that if you are considering building a home that you do your research and choose your builder more wisely than we did. If you are currently building with DRHI, DO NOT CLOSE until they have completed everything in your home to your satisfaction! And go by your house to check on the build as often as possible to look carefully for mistakes.*Editing to add: it’s fishy to me that within the last 3 week there have been a bunch of new 5 star reviews. Since I posted this review, I have spoken to more new neighbors who built with DRHI and have still yet to hear of a positive building experience from anyone. Also, any review that states “fast closing” or “very responsive” is frankly laughable, and that is not just my experience.I still encourage anyone looking to build to do your research and if possible to speak to others who have used the builder you are considering.

Grant Smith: Overall, the building process with Dave Richards Homes is highly unsatisfactory. Our largest issue has been our driveway. It is crumbling away and it is highly discolored (see photos). After trying unsuccessfully to get a meeting with Dave, I finally was able to meet with his son and the concrete company (Pat Cochran Concrete; I would not recommend them either). Their claim is that this happens sometimes, but is not a defect and is not warranted. This is clearly a defect that is covered in our contract, and I have spoken with several individuals in the concrete industry who all stated this is from too much water added by the concrete company. Dave Richards refuses to repair it, and stated that if their margins were better maybe they could do something about it, but not while prices are high for lumber.Other significant issues during the process included:-Framed second floor to the wrong floor plan-30 Day Closing Punchlist took over 11 months to complete-Sump pump overflowed into basement on first rain due to faulty outlet-Plumbed basement wrong, had to tear up concrete to repair-Attempted to make us pay $2000 extra on sod to use their company (we did finally get them to relent on this, but only after forcing an in-person meeting)-Would go weeks without communication despite constant efforts to get a hold of someone for promised workServices:Install flooring,Plumbing fixture installation,Exterior painting,Painting,Paint indoors,Tile work installation,Drywall installation,Flooring

Regina Yaros: Jereme and his crew are Amazing! Jereme gave me a bid to prepare a couple leaky windows and to repair wood rot. As like everyone else, Jereme stated he was really backed up and might not be able to get to us until August, but said if he can fit us in sooner he would try. Well, they came out July 7th and did the work needed, plus extra. The guys were very nice, efficient and Leo paid close attention to detail. You can see he takes great pride in his work. He pointed out additional areas of wood rot and stayed on the job longer than expected to complete it all to our satisfaction. We highly recommend Bernard Exteriors. Also, we had previous bids that were 2, 3 and even 4 times higher than Bernard Exteriors. There is no guarantee the work they did will stop the window leaks, but if it doesn't, we were told to give them a call to come back. We'd be surprised if it didn't correct the problems since they found extensive rot from a job not done correctly by a previous company.
