I got off work and tried to unlock my door and my key broke in half and got stuck in the door. They told me that the only thing I could do was call a lock smith which I called to get a quote and it would be $200. They tried to charge for destruction of property because I banged the door up trying to get in.

Lexy: They never take any of your maintenance request serious. I’ve put in request for certain things to be done and they still haven’t and it’s been over a month. This isn’t the first time. Heck by the time they actually do come I’ve already either done it or found a friend or family member to do the work. Just pitiful. And they don’t care about their tenants at all!! Just trifling staff and owners. I wouldn’t recommend living here. The streets are cleaner than Hawthorne!!

Fran Dorland: It's an okay place to live if you don't mind mold, cockroaches, and bed bugs. Most tenant do not request spraying for bed bugs so they end up spreading. There are drugs in the building and your vehicle gets broken into in the parking lot. One person had a hit and run in the parking lot if you just need a place to live it's a great place better than being outside in the cold or the Heat

Called the office multiple times about stuff that needs to be fixed and never got a call back and our stuff hasn’t been fixed and it’s been months. You can never get anyone in office to call you back or in office. The staff is rude and won’t help you at all when it comes to anything wrong. Definitely recommend finding another place to live than here.

britt francis (fox): These places used to be nicer, my relatives that lived here had all utilities included with rent, but that's no longer the case and it's gotten so trashy. The rent has been increased and for the environment you'd be living in its ridiculously high. The parking lot and entry into the property has major potholes that are so hard on your vehicle. The only positive is that some of the units are quite large. Rent elsewhere!

Taylor Westenburg: The first few months were nice but now I'm not so sure. I've lived here almost a full year and some of the items that I listed to be repaired on my move in list still haven't been fixed. I have a ceiling fan loose in the dining room and loose sockets everywhere and now I find out I have 24 hours to contact the front office or my car will be towed so I stop by the office after work and sit there for an hour with no one inside. This place is a joke. Edit: day two of no one being in the office during office hours. In desperate need of new management.

James Inwood: This is by far the worst complex I have lived in. At first, I simply accepted some of it's shortcomings, but at this point, after 2 years of living here, I can't stand it. Months will go by with broken washers and dryers, no matter how many people complain to the office. It takes forever to get maintenance out and then they might fix the problem half the time. My apartment has flooded multiple times due to leaky roofs and backed up plumbing. When someone runs their dishwasher above me, my sink fills with disgusting water. There's so much water damage in my apartment as well as mold and no matter how many times we tell them about it, nothing ever gets done.Good luck EVER getting the office on call unless you have money for them. It's fairly obvious that they do not care about a single person living in their community, only the money they are taking from them.Don't live here, it's not worth the lower price.

Richard Adams: Currently living here and will be moving out in 36 days. I am counting down the days to leave. A genuinely awful living experience. My apartment has flooded 3 times, I can constantly hear water trickling in the walls of my room, the sinks back up, the mold is awful. Bring this up to management and you will only be met with crickets.Laundry machines don't work most of the time, nothing gets fixed. And to say again, you will never hear from management in any meaningful or timely way.Don't live here.

Theses people allow your vehicle to get stolen by a tow company even when you notify them which car is your and you daily drive Caster's tow company are a bunch of crooks that abuse the laws and steal your property then physically fight you because your trying to get your things. The appartments dont fix mold issues and take months to send any kind of maintenance. But will have your car towed overnight leaving you stranded in a emergency. Then hold your vehicle forna ransom. Who knows maybe the owners get money back for this. Its not the people who live here its the management entirely! DO NOT MOVE HERE

Skye Bailey: I have lived here for 5 years and love it! The staff is friendly, helpful, patient, and courteous. They are super quick to take care of any maintenance issues that arise. The grounds are well kept. The neighborhood is pretty, peaceful, and safe, which makes for a nice stroll around the area to enjoy the fresh air and nature.There's also enough parking space here, which is convenient for everyone. The amenities are quite nice: swimming pools, exersize room. There are washer and dryer outlets in the apartment, which makes life much easier. You can either bring your own, or conveniently rent a set from the complex. I also adore using my fireplace during the cozy, colder months. And, I love that I have the option to paint the walls, if I choose. I still haven't done it, yet. But, I love that we can express our creativity this way and do things to "make it more our own". It's about that time of year to start getting some potted plants and flowers for the porch. On my walks, it's nice to see the creativity of others and their porch spaces, as well. I like to sit outside on the porch and watch it rain, sometimes. Or, for a peaceful interlude on a nice day, I'll sit out there and read a book, listen to the birds chirp, watch the squirrels act squirrely, or say a quick hello to the neighbors. All in all, The Mansion makes for a very comfortable, well maintained place to call home--without the yard work and home maintenance costs!

Darrell Brooks: Be sure to document everything because as friendly as they portray themselves to be as soon as you decide to move out and not sign an extension they will attempt to add on every charge they can think of. You need to have everything very clear and video documented when moving out because they will falsely charge you with cleaning fees and damages.

T S: Updated...I recently posted a pretty nasty review, but I was in error regarding a fitness key deposit I thought I was double charged for. I was not and therefore they deserve an updated and better review than I initially gave. And also my apologies for that, I was mistaken.So, the pros: They do a really good job maintaining the grounds, the complex is very pretty and I really enjoy that. The amenities offered here are nice, two pools and a nice big fitness center. It has the potential to be a great place to call home.Now the cons: First, the units could use some updating and better care; pest control needs to happen more often as there are a lot of flies and spiders here; the amenities are too often out of service; but the biggest negative thing here is this thing they do where they walk around and police the parking lot putting stickers on people's cars and threatening to tow them. I've seen at least three separate people who have had to get rid of their cars entirely because they couldn't afford to update their tags. These aren't even nuisance vehicles and some people are still making payments on them. Imagine paying thousands of dollars a month to a place that threatens to take away the car that you're making payments on because the inflated prices you pay make it impossible to update your tags. That's insane. No part of that is acceptable.** Why don't you guys find a way to be more helpful than just giving people 48 hours to do the impossible? Remember, we pay you a lot of money to live here, these are our homes. If we can't park our cars here while we work to get them licensed, where do you suggest we park them? The police and the court would tell us to park them here, at our homes. Would you rather we feel pressured to use our rent money to do it? Why don't you start out giving people 30 days, then give extensions as people need them? That would be so much more helpful than 48 hour threats. Nuisance vehicles are one thing, it's acceptable to force someone to clean up a broken down mess that's making the complex look bad, but the state of someone's tags isn't even really your business.

Cristian Brown: I couldn’t recommend the mansion apartments enough, Candice was an extreme help through my entire process, from moving in to and moving out she went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I’ve lived in these apartments since a young age, and recently over the last 2 years. It’s a very nice, calm and quiet community. I never really had maintenance issues but when I did it was fixed that day with no complaints! The gym is awesome and the pools are great for the summer! It’s hard leaving this amazing place but unfortunately life takes its course and I’m in need of more space. I’d highly recommend anyone🔥

Karrington Ingram: I would have renewed my lease if I wasn't relocating states but my experience here was great! Molly W. was a great help when I decided on The Mansions, she was super kind and very helpful. Any time I had a maintenance issue, it was fixed that day or the next day so that was amazing. I stayed in building 18 and my neighbors were nice, very quiet up until the last month when kids moved in above me. The only problems I had while living there was that my catalytic converter was stolen and the security could be better. Also there were a lot of spiders! Other than that and some move out issues that were solved my experience was great.

Dorothea Kelley: I decided not to rent at The Mansions. However, this post is about how I was mislead to put down a $200.00 holding fee before I had seen the property. Just proceed cautiously and go view the property before applying or putting down any fees. If the unit that you are wanting is not available for show....THEN RUNNNNNN!!! You need to see it first. Affordable rent is now at $1200 and that is for apartments that should be going for 600-800 max. Do your research and proceed cautiously. Looks great on the outside.

Its a cute little place, the grounds are well kept, good amenities, and pretty quiet most of the time! Much better than other apartments I’ve lived in! Maintenance comes timely and office staff and management have been helpful for all questions and concerns. Definitely recommended!

On the day of my walk through after being handed my keys , which after Molly the leasing agent just FINISHED her walk through of the unit. I found Black mold, roach infestation, water damage cabinets. Mold and dirt on side of unit stained, rot wood on patio and more!!!! Molly tells me she didn’t see any of THIS!! I become immediately I’ll and had to go to a hotel and move all my items back into storage!! This is a awful agency-Harbor Group and the poor management. This company has law suit all over the US!! Which they had to pay tenants!! DO NOT MOVE HERE- PLEASE SEE PICTURES I TOOK ON MY MOVE IN DAY.

She has called the office more than too many times & no one answers and it’s still broken to where the house stinks and we don’t even want to stay there.. No one ever picks up the phone, seems like someone new is always taking over the office. The people that you seen doing maintenance work don’t even work here or something. It’s really sad. They want their rent but they don’t want you to have comfortable safe living. The trash is always over filled and distrusting. Cars get broken into.trash is everywhere. None of washer and dryers work. It’s really terrible here. I don’t recommend anyone wasting their sanity here. Needs to be audited by the city

Kenny Riley: So my air conditioning recently went out and so I contacted the office to let them know and Danielle and Sydney got working on my issue immediately. They had maintenance put some temporary window AC units in while they're in the process of replacing my outside condenser. They're super nice, easy to work with, and made this unfortunate experience as painless and easy on me as possible. Thank you ladies you're amazing!

We're on the 2nd floor and our unit has got into the 90's, probably higher but we can't stay there often bc we have a 5 year old here! Have put in multiple maintenance requests, called the office, emails, the whole 9 yards, you name it we've tried it. They literally just do not care.

Brandon Holmes: The office rarely returns calls and if they do almost they always have an attitude. Have raised rent over the past few months and made promises that they can't keep. So far we have two buildings on the property that are painted. When talking to the residents that live in these buildings about the updates, they have said that it's only the paint on the outside. Several units have repairs needed that haven't been done.This picture is from 1/17/2022, ice on the driveway. Several people could not get out. Sidewalks were barely touched, several slips and falls. The amenities that we pay for we are not allowed to use. The fitness center has broken or damaged equipment. It's also been closed to the residents because of the office being renovated since late November.Trash is constantly piling up around dumpsters, and people are parking on sidewalks and grass.Currently we have no property manager to report these issues to and if we do none of us know who to call for answers. 11 years ago when we moved here I would have left a great review. With in the past two years with Prism and now Orion this property has went down hill.

I just called the number for Orion Property on google and had to leave yet another message.On top of the office issues, the snow removal for the storm we had 1.1 was HORRIBLE!!! Nothing was done around the property—sidewalks, road ways on the property etc.This is not fair to the residents that we can’t get in touch with anyone. How very sad!!!

Morgan Jones: A place to live, nothing luxurious. Not as bad as it looks on the outside. The apartment itself isn't bad: a little old, but clean and decently maintained. Management is new, and I'm hoping they get better as they go along. They could communicate more clearly, particularly around maintenance requests. The day I was supposed to move in, the manager who'd been handling my lease was sick and hadn't told the other manager I was moving in, so I spent an hour waiting in the parking lot before driving to their offices at another complex. Most of my maintenance requests are still pending, some after as long as three weeks, with no indication of when I should expect them to be resolved. The A/C brings in cigarette smoke from other apartments, and the fridge/freezer isn't working properly. The laundry is coin-operated (a big disappointment after my last apartment), but cheaper and more convenient than nearby laundromats. I was told maintenance would be by today to work on the fridge, but it doesn't look as if they came. Wish they'd be clearer about things like this.

First the neighbors are not the best a lot of drugs go on here I’ve called police and told Management and nothing was ever done. Transferred apartments only to find out two days later it had BED BUGS. We dealt with for month because management didn’t believe us till we showed pictures (still have them). The people below us also had them and refused to pay till the problem was fixed they got evicted instead. Shannon left and new management came in just as bad don’t answer calls behind on maintenance and very rude. I recommend to not spend your money here and find some where else to stay like the apartments next door.

It started with a swarm of bees inside & outside my unit not once but twice did this happen I was advised by management that it wasn’t a emergency however I’m allergic to bees!! Now I’m currently with out A/C, Fridge(All of my food is now bad) or Stove due to a electrical issue in their unit however once again this isn’t a emergency to them because they have yet to address the issue this is the 5th time I’ve been w/out power, while they enjoy their weekend in cool A/C Hillside Apts has inconvenienced me & my family once again !! Their quick to send rent reminders but fail to remind themselves of their tenants!

Jim Walsh: Moved my daughter in last weekend and apartment was not cleaned. Refrigerator full of mold. AC does not work, sink is leaking, The washing machine does not work and is full of water. Have called management company many times and work order is in. Going on a week and no one answers the phone, Cant open the window falling apart at bottom. Call forwarding would be a great idea if they cared about their tenants. Health department will be the next call.

Valerie Edge: I personally have had a pleasant experience speaking with the manager of Hillside Apartments and I was promptly supplied the link to fill out a rental application.Although the apartment is for my boss "72" I believe he and others would find the experience pleasant from start to finish.

Zero Grid: ive lived here for several years and within the last half year the complex was bought out. management now is professional and is nice but the old management handled the amenities far better such as snow removal pricing, and grounds keeping. thier new maintenance man is a pretty cool guy too. but they purchased a complex that has old buildings and in my opinion didnt know what to expect with the transfer of management.i cant personally speak for other residential experiences but aside from the differences of management the building i live in which is a 2 bedroom shifts extremely noticable during the winter, making door opening closing and locking more difficult each year. and door sealing is offset so cold and heat enter and escape unless you block it.the water utilities are split between residents and equally charged so you mat find it unnerving if you are a single individual or the other tenants have multiple residents living with them using excessive amounts. it means youll pay extra regardless. i suggested to the old management they switch to conservative shower heads to slow usage and retain hot water longer as well as save tenants money. but they ignored it. the parking in the single bedrooms and studios are great. the entrances for the two bedrooms are meh. very tight knit and the entrances {curbs} are hard on vehicles. in two years you will be replacing suspension parts. heating and electric cost are great because the heat gets disbursed good from close quartered living. the windows in my particular unit are under review because of water damage from guttering issues that were brought up in the past but until the weather proves it again. there is mold inside the walls. ive seen it. but it can be killed, contained and treated when done properly. this was one reason why old leasing before new management insisted we do not hang anything on the walls.you ARE next to two major roads, one being a highway. road noise is excessive and two large trucking companies are next door. ive sealed my windows with weather seal to block noise. it works wonders.most of these things ive listed should be discretionary, but the biggest complaint is neighboring. the neighbors below me smoke against occupancy rules and it travels into my apartment. so it demonstrates how these places are built. and what youll be dealing with if you decide to rent and live near tenants who dont care.they did cancel security. which shouldntve been done. because the last person doing it did a fantastic job. so expect some increase in crime and illegal drug activity to eventually occur. and it will.other than that these units are still some of the lowest priced available. and the new management seems to be making a good effort so far.these apartments also have online billing only now too. and ironically can cost you up to several dollars just to do online transactions. which adds up over the year. cash payments are not allowed. so the system is tapping you out if you like it or not.so my final conclusion is this, its an affordable roof over my head. and if you can tough certain things out to get a house for a few years you will find it better than not living here. so bust your butt. rent, then buy a house.

Cheyenne Irvin: Got denied because our credit was a few points away from what they want (only because of medical bills, nothing else. We have no other debt just working on paying off old hispital bills). The only reason why this upsets me is because we SPECIFIALLY asked if it would effect us being accepted and she said NO as long as it isnt terrible and we do not owe any banks or other apartments (which we do not) then we would be accepted. So she lied to our faces and we wasted money and time applying.

Josh Leonard: We were living at a place that took advantage of taking everything dollar out of our pocket, so we decided to move and we looked online and found Hillside. We decided to look at an apartment and we loved what Jolynn showed us. Well everything went smoothly from filling out an application. We played our deposit to move in. We moved in a week ago and so far we have found it to be a peaceful, quiet place to live. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Karen Cubon: I have lived here about a year & a half. JoLynn & Miguel have been very good to me. Any maintenance things, are fixed right away. Including, when I needed an adjustment to my Door lock. On a weekend. They fixed it, right away. There is a good security guard on staff. That does a thorough job as well. And helps keep the Complex safe. I highly recommend Hillside. Good affordable living.
