They had nicely displayed signs so you could read about inmates that were there and get more of a history feel. National WWI Museum and Memorial: what do users think?
Jeremy Miller: What a great an amazing place! I was there for 2 hours and still could go back! Such a great example of American and world history. A great place to help any generation learn about history so we don’t repeat it!
Frecky Lewis: This is certainly a sobering museum to visit. The experience begins with a short video explaining the events that led up to World War I, and as soon as the war "begins" the video ends and the doors to the museum itself open. It's a powerful way of setting the stage for everything you are about to view in the museum. Obviously I wouldn't recommend bringing small children here, as the things portrayed are pretty horrifying, but this is history in all its grisly detail.

Verlee Gilkerson: If you have never visited you absolutely put it on your places to visit! The WW1 Museum encompasses the history leading into the war to the final Signing of the Versailles Peace Agreement. I just can't list all you see. Be prepared to do a lot of walking, stair climbing, and wandering. If you are thinking of doing the tower it has an elevator BUT then there are 45 steps to get to the very top! Plan a half day to make sure you can see the videos, exhibits and read the information. There is a lower level as well.
Kevin Cox: The WWI museum is fantastic! It is definitely a must-see. The view from the tower is pretty awesome as well. It is very well put together and the staff is super friendly and helpful. If you're a local and haven't been, you should go. If you're planning a visit to KC, add this to your list of things to do!
Ann Engel: What a beautiful museum. The collection was extensive and one of the most informative war museums I have ever seen. Well worth the trip.

I: a great place to take kids, but watch them very closely - the exhibits are so crammed together and it's such a small space that even adults not paying attention could easily back off a step and get seriously hurt. also, several of the exhibits are very worn. for as cheaply as they could be repaired and for as much money as is rolling through the place, I don't understand why they allow the exhibits to look so ratty. but, the Ames room, the leaning room, the vertigo tunnel and the head on a plate are worth the price of admission alone. a good time, but could be a lot better.

Joel Snyder: I visited the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center the last Saturday morning of May (in downtown Kansas City, MO).By highlighting several local artists, the art is on the 1st floor, however it requires walking up 8-10 steps to enter the Gallery.I also visited on a partly sunny day and the temperature wasn't too bad for me to see Art.I didn't take any photos of this Gallery when I was there for an hour. If you're interested in visiting the Leedy-Voulkos Gallery before it closes, check it out sooner rather than later. A
