Castaway Animals Rescue Effort: what do users think?
Superior Auto Detail And Paint Correction: We took home out baby. A 2 your old Blue healer/border collie names Mello. We have had him for 2 weeks and we love this little guy so much already! He's actually laying next to me on the bed right now!
John Swanberg: Great Place! Great People!
Georgia Moses: The facility was clean, the employees were very kind.I would recommend this place for anyone looking to adopt a new furry friend
Jonathan Cook: Extremely helpful
janet melton: We have gotten two of our long term babies over the last approx 20 years. Don't really have anything bad to say. These have both been wonderful animals ❤️. Would not hesitate to do it again.
Karen Watson: Sweet and caring staff. Very helpful.
Mercedes Christensen: My fur baby, Kaimana, was born and raised at CARE for the first 6 months of his life. I could just tell how much the staff took such great care and loved my little guy. Kaimana is now 3 years old💜
Cathy Slinger: Very nice caring people.
Lisa “Dog Mom” Young: They are super nice there and work very hard to help you find a wonderful dog that fits who you are. We are older and have physical limitations so need a laidback, gentle sweet adult dog. They will let you know when they get a new arrival that will fit your lifestyle. They are a no kill shelter, they rescue animals from shelters that do euthanize.
Martina Spencer: Love my beautiful Queen Stormy she is so sweet.
Amy snow: We adopted the cutest dog! The staff was great!
Greg Harms: Have adopted cats in the past, good people to deal with.
Yvettee Grisham: Only because rated thim low was I was looking to adopt a dog and they don't really have a list of what dogs are for adoption you know when you look at a website for adopting dogs and that's what they do that's what they should show you so I haven't been there yet
John Mark Messerian: An upstanding and worthy establishment for our pets that are always looking for a good family/forever home.
Shelia Dietz: This care center is amazing. It does sadden me that most facilities such as these are filled with our canine friends and Black dogs. Spay your pets people! What is the matter with a black dog? So strange.I am so happy we have people and places like this who will tend to our furry angels. Thank you .very much. Please keep your good work with the tenderness and care you show.I didn't do this review. Attention: I didn't do this review but I'm behind any facility that helps animals. Keep up the great work. Now tofind out how someone reviewed for me.
Andrea Williams: The friendliest staff who always puts the animals needs first
Michael Brennan: This place ROCKS!!!! The ladies who run the rescue, Pfeiffer and Annie are the sweetest people, care about the dogs and cats tremendously and will go out of their way to help you out
Ke'Aaron Loudermill: It's a good organization to surrender your animals they get taken care of and rehomes but I do think they need to update their website lol
Denise Dunn: Always awesome
Pixie Lewis: Amazing people helping find homes for animals. Everyone was wonderfully kind and helpful.
Loretta Estebane: It was great. I loved it

Springfield Animal Shelter: what do users think?
Jessica Christianson: I had to put my little girl down and they was very patient and respectful of the time I needed with her! Great place to go!
Caitlyn Conklin: Every time I have tried to give them dogs I have found on the side of the road, which has been 3 times in the past 4 years...they're always full and will hardly help. It's kinda disappointing that there's no expansion to the place, while everything else in Springfield keeps expanding, it doesn't make sense. I feel bad for the animals.
MissouriPride USA: They need to work on their phone system. Either hire someone to take phone calls, or have an answering machine to leave a message on. Making customers wait to talk to someone while playing irritating music only to be told six minutes into the phone call that all of their employees are busy with other customers. and then told that they are busy and can't is very unprofessional. However, when I lost my dog back in November, they were kind to me when I spoke to them and said that they would let me know when they found her. Also, they need to hire more people.
Bruce D: I spotted a dead kitty on east Sunshine in front of Arvest Bank today and tried 5 times to reach someone at the animal control office and was put on hold for over 15 minutes twice before being hung up on. Even their #2 selection about reporting a lost animal instead gives you the hours, location and directions and has nothing to do with reporting a lost or found animal.I feel very sorry for the owners of the poor little kitty but I finally just had to file a “found” report online as I could never reach a person in this office. Maybe the owners will find the poor thing as obviously animal control probably isn’t going to do anything, given no one ever answers their phone.
Kelly Leedy: The people that work there were really nice and understanding I had no problem with them I like them very much and you're wonderful job keep up the good work cuz no other people have the heart to do it I feel for you thank you very much
Patty Dowdy: These people need to do a better job of helping the animals under their care and getting them back to the original owner
Daniel Mitchell 123: Great puppies
the honeyman: I have literally *never* been able to get ahold of anybody via their phone number, and the lady who came out to talk to me was one of the rudest individuals I've ever had the displeasure of speaking with. All she tried to do is berate and shame me for needing their services, when I was already the last resort for a dog who would have otherwise been in the shelter 2 weeks ago. Don't waste your time or leave your animals here, go to the Humane Society, where both people and animals are actually treated humanely.
Brittany: I found my bruno 35 dollars day one day 2 56 dollars but the update their shots that was a plus
Kelly Reusch: Staff was friendly and helpful
Thomas Lile: Nice and friendly people doing great work for pets
Shayla Armstrong: I am missing my cat and I think they might have him and so I've called and emailed and when I call I get put on hold for 30+ minutes and then I get hung up on and they don't answer emails. Apparently on Wednesday they close at 11 am which is absolutely ridiculous. They obviously don't care.
Michael Brennan: The workers are very sweet. We gave a rescued stray cat, that we had been tending for a while, to them today. The facilities appeared very clean, organized and the workers all appeared to care about the critters :)
Jenn Johnson: Just spent an hour on hold only to find out they are closed. My neighbor and I have tried and tried to contact them regarding a animal hoarder (cats) on our street and the horrid conditions these cats live in outside. One was hit and killed during the night. Wonder how many more will die from being hit, lack of food and water, or from flea infestation
Jeannie Wright: Can never talk to anyone Monday waited 30 minutes Tuesday waited 46 minutes please people answer your phones. I finally just gave up.
Crystal Farris: Dogs were kept in small cages with too many others and was complete filth
Sabrina Jutton: talk about a run around, animal control in Springfield is a complete JOKE. Just loook at their hours for starters. Alot of the workers are lazy in catching dogs, ive seen 3 times where they have just let the dogs keep running my side of town. recently my dog was attacked by my neighbors dog. They were and still are more worried about my dog being a pit bull then the health of my dog after being attacked. Animal control is least worried about making Springfield safe and more worried about bringing in the city money and looking like they are busy.I've met a couple workers with good hearts, but there is more dark and rude workers who don't care about the health and attachment that comes with owning a pet. perfect example was when I had called to report my dog getting out of my fence.. I love my dog, she's was the only kid i was able to have. Anywho, she somehow got out of my fence. I called animal control desperate for help to bring my Furbaby home. Instead I got told if they find her before I did they were writing me a ticket and how irresponsible of an owner i am for this.when animal control can show some passion and help their community instead of looking to punishing the good owners, I'll change my review. for now this is how they have made me feel.
Joseph Cushing: Slow or no response to aggressive dogs. My first time calling about a loose pit bull a few years ago had me waiting for almost an hour before someone finally arrived. Then, my son was attacked and bitten about a year later and the response time was about 20 minutes. Right now, I just got off the phone after waiting 50 minutes for a responder. The hold time was over 15 minutes. I was calling to tell them the dog left after about 35 minutes of non-stop barking at me and following me around on my property. The lady I spoke to canceled the responder.
Tina Applegate: They left a written note pertaining to my son's dog requesting that we call them yet after numerous attempts to call them and being placed on hold for more than thirty minutes at a time, we received no answer to our call. We have tried for two days now yet all they do is place you on hold. Poor business ethics!!!
ozarkmrs nonya: I was on hold for 1hr and gave up. There is no way they have that high of a call volume. I cant come into the facilty because I am always working during the hours they are open and I need to take care of some business. Ive done this over the phone before with no problem. In fact just last September and I didnt wait on the phone for an hour. From other reviews mentioning the same issue, this is an area that needs improvement and should be addrressed.
Amy snow: I got my lost dog back with updated shots and a microchip!

Watching Over Whiskers: what do users think?
Kim Kirby: I can't say enough about WOW. These people genuinely care about these little furry sweethearts. I went there to get help with a kitten that needed more milk than mom had, and it was more work than I could handle at this age. They paired my little baby with 2 other kittens in the same predicament and now she has a family. They can grow and learn together and will even be adopted out with at least one of those kittens, hopefully both. I knew when I left that baby there that she would thrive and be loved for the rest of her life, be spayed and have her shots like she should and that goes a long way towards easing my worried mind. They are strict with their background checks and home inspections and won't let a baby get adopted alone nor go to a home that can't be a forever one. It's hard to imagine the thousands of animals euthanized every day because of animals not being spayed or neutered. It's so sad when a little life has to end before it can begin but if animals are properly fixed the problem will gradually decline until someday, with any luck, every fur baby born will have a proper home waiting eagerly to have the love of one or two little critters.Fix your animals and donate whatever you can to these great organizations that operate on a shoe string budget but somehow still stick around to help us out. They have a mostly thankless job except for the smile on the face of a child holding a purring furball. Help where you can. Be a part of the solution, not the problem. Donate time, food, litter, shelters, cat trees, dog toys, and mostly help with expenses to get the medical care necessary so we can stop ending little innocent animals lives. Get involved.
Jainee Rodgers: Amazing rescue for cats!
Jennifer Marmouget: Watching Over Whiskers is a wonderful cat rescue. They truly care about their cats wellbeing, and want to make sure the adoptions are a perfect fit to ensure a happy transition to a forever home. I adopted two wonderful 9-month old bonded siblings in December that were born under the care of WOW. They have been the best fit possible for my household. These two are very loving and sociable. They are playful, yet not too energetic, since they have each other to play with. WOW has a policy to never break up bonded pairs. If you met these two, you would see why that is!There are plenty of wonderful single cats needing homes that would fit in with other cats (or dogs) already in the home. There are also many cats who prefer to be only kitties that would love a home. Whichever your household needs, there is a kitty to fit!The cost of adoption is extremely reasonable. Fees cover spay/neuter, vaccinations, worming, microchip, and any other needed veterinary care. WOW is a foster based rescue, which helps bring out the personalities of the cats to recognize what home environment is best for them. The headquarters house more cats that foster homes do not have room for. It is very clean, and the cats are well cared for. There are rooms for them to run free in, and toys to play with. The volunteers are top notch and love what they do. The cats definitely have the best vet care for any illnesses that arise. I highly recommend visiting WOW or their adoption events when looking for a kitty to add to your home!
Sukie Kaniowski: I recently adopted two cats from W.O.W. and I can't recommend them enough! They are so caring and have a strong commitment to finding the right homes for cats in need. They provide detailed information about each of their cats, which makes it easier to find one that fits your lifestyle and home environment best. Their adoption process is also very smooth and hassle-free. W.O.W Cat Rescue is truly wonderful, highly recommend!
Valerie: Thank you for my two boys!!!
Debra Goodwin: In December I lost my sweet Tortoiseshell after 14 years. It was the most painful hurt I've been through besides losing my dad in May. I had a co-worker that had adopted through Watching Over Whiskers and said it was a great place. After 2 weeks of losing mine I decided to look at their website and found Maddie who looked a lot like mine that I had lost. I decided to apply for her and was contacted by Margaret. This place and the people who volunteer there truly care about the cats they take in. They are treated well and taken care of. Some are placed in foster homes so they can be in a home environment. After about a week I became sweet Maddie's new cat mom. I could not be more pleased with the experience. I would recommend WOW to anyone looking for a well taken care of cat. Thank you Watching Over Whiskers for bringing sweet Maddie into my life!
Sarah Decker: Got 2 sweet babes from WOW! The care the Dakota and Heidi received before they joined our family was phenomenal! The cats that WOW rescues are truly blessed and so well taken care of. They go at great lengths to ensure that each feline is placed in a loving, stable home that will last furever!
Morgan: Such wonderful people! These were our first cats to ever adopt, and Margaret & Kelly were so helpful and answered all of our questions! Couldn’t recommend this organization enough.
Neil Brown: The team at WOW obviously really care about all the cats and kittens that they are looking after. They want to find loving homes for all their cats and it shows. They are super helpful, follow up with you, work to make sure you get the cat that is right for you, and are just all around awesome.I can't thank the team at WOW enough for what they did for us in helping us add two new members to our family.Strongly recommend the team at WOW to anyone that is looking for a cat.
Paul Bellotti: Watching Over Whiskers is a wonderful organization of tireless people totally dedicated to helping the lives of cats whose lives have taken a wrong turn. I was so impressed with the vetting process; they are not only focused on placing cats, they are equally focused on finding the right homes. They were kind enough to let me come in and meet my Angie without an appointment, and the rest is history. It was love at first sight. They made sure all her medical issues were taken care of before delivering her to me ( her right eye was badly injured and infected and had to be surgically removed) and brought starter food, toys and some medication that she needed to finish taking.I can't give more than 5 stars but would if I could. Their seamless dedication not only completely turns around the lives of the felines, it enhances the lives of the people adopting them as well.Bravo, W.O.W.
Eric Weiskopf: Girl Scouts Xmas event at WOW pleased all the cat lovers.
molly taylor: My family and I adopted a cat from WOW and he is wonderful! I don’t have a ton of experience with cats and I felt like the volunteer who contacted me went above and beyond her duties to answer questions , educate us, and she didn’t belittle me or anything like that. They have a process to adopt that may be more thorough or a little different than just picking a cat up- and it is to make sure the adoption is a success! We have dogs in the home and the tips for introduction were really helpful too! I continue to have questions come up and I always feel like I can ask and get the answers I need! We love our new family member and rescuing!! Thank you all for the help from start to finish!!
Mary Southall: This past February we very sadly had to euthanize our precious 15-year old Tuxedo cat. We felt he was family and could never be replaced. My husband has dementia and he seemed so sad and disoriented without our sweet Tuxie.A dear friend of mine told me about Watching Over Whiskers and the wonderful and humane work they do. Within two weeks from losing our sweet boy, we were led to to Watching Over Whiskers. We believe we were truly led to them to find our sweet baby girl, Mittens. She is 11 years old but thanks to W.O.W., she is in perfect health after a very traumatic history. She was brought to them in a near-death condition. Their love and expertise completely restored her health and trust of people. We feel SO BLESSED by this beautiful loving pet and for the work being accomplished by Watching Over Whiskers.
Vicki Wetzel: I recently adopted from WOW (male cat named Judd). Kelly and Margaret were the volunteers that helped me with the process. They are very passionate about taking care of the cats in the facility and finding good homes for them. They were great at following up with me to make sure the transition for Judd and me was going well. Thanks WOW for all you do!
Matt Hurt: WOW has been extremely helpful and accommodating through the entire process of adopting a new kitty. They are happy to answer any questions you may have about your new kitty. It’s easy to tell that they love and care for the cats in the shelter as well as in foster homes. Margaret and Kelly have provided me with all the help that I’ve needed for my sweet boy Marley, and even brought us some goodies to help with his transition. If you are looking for a new four-legged friend, look no further than WOW!
Kia Jones: I went in today to find my forever baby. I was looking for a kitten that could grow up around my dog and easily adjust to her. WOW only adopts kittens in pairs. So although a kitten could have been saved today, it is still stuck with the other 15 cats instead of in a home roaming and playing. I was interested in a 1 year old cat since they could be adopted out as singles. I was not allowed to see the cats and was instantly unwelcomed. I was put down because I thought using a baby gate when introducing my dog to the kitten was a good start, not given the chance to say my dog would be on a leash just in case. I came home with my baby from the humane society. They listened to me, gave me tips and I have the sweetest baby girl! I am glad I didn't adopt from WOW and I am happy to say my dog loved the kitty when she met her. DISPITE the instant stereotype WOW gave my dog for being a Collie Husky mix. All they heard was Husky and shot down the idea of me owning a cat. Not to mention the smell, the lack of kind people inside and the appointment only policy. These people are not helping these cats and are not here for the community. I would never go back or ever recommend them to anyone. I am just glad I have a supportive adoption agency and a perfect happy baby who had her own crate while at her temporary rescue. Best wishes to all the lovers of cats looking for your babies. 🌟 🐈 😻 🐈‍⬛️ 😺 🐱"Cats are naturally solitary animals and are often happy without the company of their own species." Aug 5, 2022 "Cats need plenty of social interaction, physical exercise, mental stimulation, opportunities for play, and companionship. These needs can often be met by the human family! Remember to meet the needs of your cat or cats every day."
Carol Thornsberry: I have a new "furry" from WOW . They were very helpful in finding just the right replacement for my companion who had died.
MyNPS Story: I’ve seen a lot of rescues and shelters and most are not picky about getting animals in and out as quickly and as cheaply as you can. And I understand that, but WOW deals in quality, not quantity. Like all rescues, WOW is overloaded and overwhelmed with cats, but it is the cleanest rescue I’ve been in and yes, I had to jump through some hoops to adopt, but what I got in return was a lot of information, helpful tips, and most importantly, two very healthy and well-socialized cats. I thought about pulling out of the deal, but I’m so glad I didn’t, because the wait was worth it.My cats are fixed, have their shots, have been socialized, and are STILL under a year old! And I love them.
Frances Merrell: We adopted a cat from WOW and what a fabulous place! The women were so kind and understanding. They spent a great deal of time with us, so kitty would have a smooth transition. And, the place is so nice inside. Wish our city had a place that nice!
Julia Mann: I adopted a wonderful cat from Watching Over Whiskers (WOW) in Springfield, Mo about a month ago. I have adopted cats from numerous shelters in Ark, OK, MO, KS and LA over the years and WOW is the cleanest, and most cat friendly facility I have been into. They have 2 or 3 cat rooms with plenty of clean litter boxes for the 8 cats in each room. There were a few roomy kennels, similar to the ones at Petsmart outside of the main cat rooms with litter boxes and food/water stations, along with some obviously well cared for and friendly kittys that had plenty of room. There were several volunteers there caring for the cats and it was obvious they loved what they were doing.Their adoption application process was so thoughtful and geared toward finding their cats homes that will be forever, and they try to match the cat and potential adopter and what the person adopting the cat expects or wants, as opposed to just trying to move a large number of cats.I drove over 5 hours after we finished the application process and was so impressed with the whole WOW organization. I adopted an adult cat that they had rescued from a situation that could have resulted in him being euthanized at a different shelter. He received excellent vet care and WOW spent over 2 months rehabbing him back to health to be ready to find a forever home. This is another rare and outstanding thing they do that most other shelters can’t……they take in cats and even tiny kittens that need medical and/or surgical services and give them a chance at life. When I got to Springfield and walked into WOW’s clean and bright cat area I knew I had made a wise choice and the long drive and overnight in a hotel were totally worth it. The volunteers who were at WOW were a great bonus.
Sarah Doss: This an incredible organization. I adopted my Emee and Clara from here. I love how they help match you with the purrrfect companion.## Adopt not shop
