Van Gogh's Eeterie: what do users think?
Sara Slayton: My sister and I tried to go there a few days ago for her birthday dinner. We were one of three groups in the restaurant and they sat us at the only table sitting directly in the sun. There were tables on either side of us, so we got up and moved to the table that was right next to ours. The server was right behind us, and we mentioned that the sun was in our eyes, and he seemed fine with us moving. He gave us waters and said the server would be right with us.We sat for close to 30 minutes with no service. Servers kept passing us, making eye contact, and continuing to walk by. I completely understand that we should have asked to move before doing so. However, to be refused service because of something so miniscule is despicable.

Hollie Scoma: It's a little loud but beautifully decorated with dutch decor. Service was amazing. We had Vincent and he was so kind and helpful. We ordered a variety of things but I loved the dutch pancakes best. It's reminiscent of the pancakes in Thorn, Netherlands. Would highly recommendFood: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More

Dom: I got the vegan India pancake (curry themed). So I will give you credit for the curry taste, but it needed more of a kick. Look up Blue Mountain Jamaican curry as a reference.I was impressed with the pancake and serving size.Yes, they have vegan options. Just tell the waiter you’re vegan.5/5 for cleanliness. The waiter was good.

Sonya Trantham: We made a reservation for 930am. We got there on time and was seated. 11 minutes later our waiter came to the table. By then we ordered our drinks and food because we had plenty of time to look at the menu. We got our drinks 15 minutes later. At 10:45 we finally got are food. The food was cold and not edible. It had to have sat in the window for at least 15 minutes before he brought it to us. We asked for a manager, 10 minutes later we explained what happened. We paid for our drinks and left. We will never go back.

Druff's: what do users think?
Dana: I can't remember how I came across Druff's (might have been Door Dash) but I am so glad I did! I haven't been in to the store myself yet, even though I'm only a few blocks away, but I have ordered delivery several times since I found them. They are SO good! The crisp of the toasted sourdough is just perfect, and the flavors on all the sandwiches I have tried are phenomenal. Seriously, if you haven't been to Druff's yet, you should really give them a try! Even when I'm full I want to keep eating because it tastes so good. Don't forget the delicious house made tomato soup to dip the sandwich in. By far my favorite, and I don't usually like scratch made tomato soup (just hadn't found one that tasted good, now I have!)
Blake Santner: New favorite place in town. Great grilled cheese and tomato soup. It is also a great place for breakfastFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Waffle, Soup, Backwoods Breakfast Sandwich, Hashbrowns, Gravy …More
David Peck: A friend of mine recommended Druff's for lunch. After eating there today I can understand why. It's in a nice little spot downtown. Our server was very good at their job. My sandwich was really awesome. I couldn't have eaten anything else I was stuffed. Check them out.Parking: It's May 2023 and there is a lot of construction going on in the area. Which is making parking a tad more challenging. But the food is worth it.
Z: I can't believe I'd never been here before. It's the perfect little breakfast spot. A very small, cute hole in the wall. The staff is all very sweet and so helpful. The plants at the windows were all thriving. The food was wonderful. I will without a doubt be back. I'm so happy to see all of the positive reviews, and I'm also glad to see that the negative reviews are pretty easily dismissable. The vibes are perfect. Go give them a try if you haven't. It will absolutely be worth your time. Thanks for such a great breakfast! 💕
Daniel Larsson: Surprisingly solid. I wasn't expecting the breakfast food to be as good as it was. Catherine Davis: It's national grilled cheese day the this place did not disappoint the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. This place has a wonderful vibe!
Dylan Groves: Having been born in Springfield, I've at at many spots in town to find that so many of the newbies oversell the concept. I don't how y'all did it but you've found that good food in Springfield doesn't need a target audience or a fancy decorum. It needs simplicity. And that is what Druffs has done and done well. I have been twice now in my visits to Springfield and I hope to be back for many more. If I lived downtown or on campus at MSU, it would be pretty tough to not resist coming in at least once a week.
Rikki Adams: Denied service because I had my service dog with me.
Joseph Lyday: This is the best breakfast in Springfield. We go here each morning for breakfast before our bowling tournament and it's always great food. Our waitress was amazing, Thank you!

Loren G: Absolutely delicious, hands-down the best dinner we’ve had in town. Cashew chicken, salad & gnocchi were out of this world. Gorgeous space, great wine & draft beer selection and super friendly service, just the best!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Wagyu Smash Burger, Crispy Chicken …More
Hannah: The atmosphere and service were great, the cocktails and food were not. Specifically, the scallops. $20 for 2 tiny scallops and some pea purée. Also, the cashew chicken is doing too much. People like cashew chicken for what it is. The peanut butter jelly drink was undrinkable, as was the strawberry cocktail. They both reminded me of gasoline. The sweet corn was great, as was the gin and tonic and our server was wonderful but this place is not worth 100+ dollars for some average and even under average dishes and drinks.
Woodpecker Peckswood: came here for my Birthday dinner and it didn't disappoint. went for the market fish which was Cod with Morel mushrooms!! what a treat! our waitress Sarah was perfect and attentive! we enjoyed our evening and finished it off with sunset at the Vantage roof top bar.

Brandon Tindle: Barley any options
Jennifer Pratt: A pretty and modern venue. Excellent bar and dining room service. Menu is unique and much of our food was delicious. The fries were a bit over seasoned for our tastes and the hushpuppy appetizer was a bit over browned but had excellent flavor. The blueberry ice cream and the citrus tart were exceptional.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Yaakov Cohen: Highly recommended to anyone in town. Visiting and staying at the Hotel Vandivort, our party arrived late into town and we're famished from a long day of meetings and travel.Checking in we were recommended to try out the restaurant inside the hotel. We weren't disappointed at all. The bar offered an extensive selection backed by a bartender with experience. The menu selection was thoughtful and seasonal. We opened w a beet tartare that had so much depth w pickled persimmon and crusted pistachio w a truffle cream.I ordered a wagu burger and duck was ordered by my co-worker.Food was delicious and perfectly prepared. What made the experience though was our waitress, Hunter. So friendly wo being overbearing she reminded me how important being real in the food industry is.It's managements responsibility to educate the staff in details of the dishes.Find a sincere person, educate and empower them and you have a powerful opportunity.
Jon Poulson: High end bar in a classy downtown hotel. Great service with excellent knowledge of their products. Worth a casual, business, or romantic drink or mealFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
David R: Nice ambiance but the food was expensive and they overcooked my wife’s eggs and when we mentioned it the waiter said sorry but didn’t offer to replace it and they still charge us for it. Didn’t want to say anything just left and won’t return. The old fashioned was good though. You need to train your wait staff better.
Marcia Johnson: This place is in my top 5 for Springfield. Top of the line, every time.
Rafailia Vogiatzis: I ordered a wonderful drink called something angora. And then i ordered the gnocchi small plate. It was amazing. Everything was great! Highly recommend!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Enerim Mpo: The Stroganoff the Nhoque plate wasnt tasty and was very different from the Original dish. The Strip Steak was just ok (It wasn't as good as it should have been for the price it was charged.)The cocktails looked really nice. But very small and the taste was very strange, mine tasted (strong) like a flower. The Shareables (appetizer) Crawfish Hushpupies was very Good...Anyway the atmosphere was nice, the service was good. However it was expensive and the taste was not good. We made the reservation before, but the person who seated us took us directly to a small table (it wasn't full) and I had to ask her, to move us to a sofa.
David Baker: Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Lloyd Buchanan: Took eleven family members on December 28. We had four Vegans, two Pescatarians and five carnivores - a bit of a challenge for any restaurant. The Order delighted everyone in the group! Anthony Ponseigo had everything set up for our arrival and checked in multiple times. Christian has an amazing knowledge of the menu and provided exemplary service. The menu has many offerings with combinations that are not normally seen. Every single one is delicious and delivers new taste sensations. What a talented chef! Also, the bartender makes a great martini. This is fine dining with culinary imagination, not seen elsewhere in Springfield. I highly recommend The Order!
Pascual Lopez: This restaurant has some deliciousness hidden behind its small seating availability. Sitting down, I was not sure what all we would be getting ourselves into with eating in the hotel restaurant, but my goodness, they pump out some serious food. The selection they have for spirits are out of this world and are fairly priced. Some of their wine has some large overhead for pricing, but that is fine and understandable. The food and cocktails are worth the visit, and I suggest you try this place out if in town. They are hyper-local, which is always great to find a place that supports their community.
Ryan Clements: Our s'mores dessert was not up to par with what we've gotten in the past or with the price. Feel like they are becoming a 'hotel bar' rather than a standalone restaurant. Service was great!Food: 2/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Progress: what do users think?
Carissa Purdy: Consistently rude front end staff. First time we went it was oddly empty and both wait and host staff created an awkward and unwelcome atmosphere. Assuming one bad experience would be atypical, we tried again only to experience rude front end staff again. Not worth our time and the frustration. It is in poor taste to treat guests like they are nuisances.
Keith&Kelly Clark: We are so in awe. And so disappointed that Progress is closing the doors on June 30. Be sure to get there before then!!!! The fennel salad was this crazy delicious blend of fennel, orange and dried salty olives. The leeks were topped with a salty pepita mix that was out of this world. The steak melted in our mouths and the gnocchi bolognese was so flavorful! To be balanced I have to say that the gnocchis were not the fluffy little pillows I had in Italy. But the dish was still so yummy! Just cannot sat enough good things about this food. And our server, Grace, was so knowledgeable and attentive. The Cab Sauvignon and CA red blend were both delightful. Do it quick! Before it is only a legend.
Autumn Sharp: Exceptional food, service, and experience
L T: My family brought me to progress for Mothers Day. It was hopping, and we were glad we had reservations as they cut off any further customers at 12 due to the volume. We were very disappointed to find out that they were out of half the menu. Leaving only one app option and the main courses we wanted were also unavailable. That wasn't the biggest issue, however. During our meals , we were treated to the most ridiculously inappropriate and explicit playlist playing loudly for everyone to hear. Most families were there with their children. Young and old and got to listen to Doja Cats "kiss me more".Super cool listening to her sing about wanting to"F@#k" something with your kids. There were several songs like this. When brought attention to the fact that there were families with young children, the staff said they didn't control the music. It was apparent that more than a few people were like "WTH is playing".I think coupled with the lack of items available, this has to be considered a less than average experience.Vegetarian options: Avocado toast
Bree: I really like Progress and have always had a nice experience here. However, today we walked in for breakfast and were told there was no more seating for walk ins or Reservations due to it being Mothers Day weekend. This is fine and understandable. But the hostess was very rude when telling us this and I felt like she had a "sorry, not sorry" attitude. Very disappointed with this interaction. Even my 13 year old son picked up on the negative vibe we received.
Randy Henderson: Called a week in advance to get a reservation for Mothers Day brunch. Calls go to voicemail. So left a voicemail explaining what we wanted, and also emailed the supplied address.Having not heard Monday, I tried again. Tuesday I tried again. Wednesday I made a special trip to the restaurant, only to be told they were full. I told them of my attempts to contact them, their answer was "Not sure what happened. Sorry."Maybe its good food, but it sure is poorly organized.
Michael Jones: Hands down the best dining experience in Springfield, without question.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
TacoTuesday MeatLoaf: The atmosphere and drinks were amazing! And there "dinner burger" is outstanding!! However, their octopus was HORRIBLY fishy tasting and just not good at all. Don't get me wrong, I love octopus! But I ate it on the west coast! Don't expect sea food in the middle of the USA to be good, cuz it never will be lol
Anna Y: Loved it! ☆☆☆☆☆Food, atmosphere, and service are outstanding. Love that it is locally grown! Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ally: I ordered the taste of progress and being a foodie thought I would love it all. Sadly I only enjoyed the biscuits.. the salads were weird and I can't say any of it was good. The octopus was covered in a black sauce that was just gross. I would go back to try other things but so far what I tried was not worth the 130 dollars in any way.
Jacob Funke: Love this place for brunch! Spicy blood Mary is a must! As are the donut holes. My entree was the Brunchwrap Supreme that was truly outstanding. Great services as well.
Josh Garrett: Had the Taste of Progress tasting menu. After reading every dish's description, I thought, I'm not gonna love that. I was pleasantly surprised every time. Super creative and delicious throughout. Service was awesome. This place is now one of my favorites in Springfield.
Roxanna Fultz: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Biscuits and Gravy, Brunch BowlMore
Max Grimes: Had an absolutely stunning meal here for an anniversary. Our server Hope was very knowledgeable about the menu, knew exactly how to pair drinks with our food, and was incredibly pleasant the entire evening. We had the butternut squash per Hope’s recommendation and it was fantastic, you won’t find another dish like it you simply MUST go in to try it. The steak tartare was our other appetizer and it made the tartare I had from flame the other week look drab by comparison. Our mains (chicken and pork) were among the best either of us have had in recent memory, and they were paired excellently with a Spanish white wine (thanks again hope for the rec). All in all, one of my favorite meals I have ever had experienced, and certainly the best dining experience I have had in the SGF area. If you only have one night out in Springfield, make sure it’s at progress.Vegetarian options: They have an entire section of the menu dedicated to vegetables. Vegetarians will be in heaven.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps from the parking lot to the front entrance and a flat floor plan made the restaurant very wheelchair accessible.
dreamsava: Pure delicious art. The best cauliflower dish I’ve ever had. Food bliss ❤️🧚
Niki Driggers: The menu is seasonal so if you want to try something specific from the current menu go sooner rather than later. The food is absolutely amazing. I had a salad as an appetizer that was all new ingredients to me and I loved every part of it.If you like to explore foods Progress is definitely a place to go.Vegetarian options: They do have vegetarian options. Most are salads but they do have a Main that is also vegetarian.
G Fleck: Outstanding as usual. Hope knew all but one menu selection with great detail. She provided expert suggestions as we wanted to share and enjoy multiple items. Brought two out of town newbies here. All were absolutely delighted with the experience.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Thomas Hunt: Springfield's finest dining experience! Eat the carrots, then eat some other stuff! Everything is great!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Nicolas Wilson: Arrived and was greeted by friendly hosts. The restaurant had a decent ambience to it. Our server was nice and did a good job. Ordered the Naan appetizer, a couple drinks, and the prime dry-aged steak. The Naan was okay. The drink was really good. The steak me and my girlfriend ordered medium rare. The food took quite awhile to Arrive with a slightly odd and unique side of broccoli and a sauce pairing. Both of our steaks were cooked well done. We let the server know and she had it redone in the kitchen. Ended up waiting another 30 or so minutes. The steak was what I'd expect an average 25 dollar steak to taste like but this was over twice as much at 52 dollars. I don't dislike the people or the food, but the pricing is too high for what you get here. There are not many options to select from for entrees or starters. I spent 152 for me and my girlfriend before tip. There are simply much better options in Springfield to spend your money at that doesn't feel like an incomplete experience.
Bryan Haile (Ouroboros0): One of the better dining experiences I’ve had in Springfield.
