adamanson13: My daughter has been attending various camps, events, and coding sessions regularly at Code Ninjas for the past 2.5 years. After each session, she is so excited to tell me about the things she learned that day. Having been invited in to see the progress she's made, I can attest that "ninjas" are encouraged to explore their creativity in a structured, fun, and safe environment, while learning valuable skills for the future. The "senseis" are highly knowledgeable and create a fun atmosphere for learning, both individually and in groups. Highly recommended!

Courtney Peck: I have been to Happy Hollow Bible Camp several times, and each time is always better and better than the last. I thoroughly enjoy this camp, and I would highly recommend it.

Robin Beck Horton: Hidden Gem west of Springfield!! Over 100 acres of wilderness and pure fun! There's a lake stocked with fish ready for paddle boarding and kayaking, a mini farm, trails, a creek, a swimming pool, ropes course, zipline, climbing wall, 3D archery, and so much more adventure!

John Osborne: When I was growing up, I went there. It was part of the most formative times in my life. My first (and only) food fight, safe but SUPER fun pranks (water ballooning the older kids), first time repelling, first time climbing a rock wall, my first tent camp, my first time cooking over a camp fire, and I met my “blood brother” there (It was shaking hands and hugging in front of a bond fire, nothing weird... God rest his soul). This place is where memories are formed and safety is their number one priority.This place is magical. I can’t wait to send my daughter there! Best place for your kids to spend a fun week in the summer!

Angie Rieschel: Camp Wakonda is the best camp ever. They have a wonderful director and caring staff. They have a very nice private bathhouse, private lake and pool and even ac in the cabins. So many activies the kids are never bored. They post pics every day so you can see your child. My picky eater even loves their food! I can't say enough good things about them.
Lil bear Kels: Great camp for kids, so much fun!
John Hicks: We had an event there recently and everyone really seemed to enjoy the camp. Facilities were somewhat rustic, as you would expect a YMCA camp to be, but very clean and comfortable. Cabins have heat and AC, dining hall has a professional kitchen, nice swimming pool, game room, high ropes course, rappelling tower & zip line. The boys really seemed to enjoy the "treehouse" area and the nearby creek. Staff was very courteous and helpful. The facilities are available for rent when summer camps are not in session - a great option for church groups, family reunions, etc.

Brian P: The pros are that it's a nice place with clean facilities. The have tons of activities available and offer any class you could want to take. The employees are also very friendly. The biggest con I can find is that it's really hard to just go in and workout because there are limited weight machines. This wouldn't be an issue expect people tend to sit on the machines while on their phones. And they're not just changing the song in their playlist. I have mentioned it, but the staff didn't seem to concerned. I hate that I have to find another gym because it's so close to my office and my home. If you're looking for a family focused health center with lots of activities for the kids, this is definetly for you.

My fiancé and I go to use basketball court, the weights and machines upstairs, and occasionally the pool, and it provides us with everything that we need! I’m very happy to be back at the Y, and proud to be part of the community it represents and uplifts.

Bailey Gritzner: Our son has been going here for a little over a year now. He just turned 2 and he is thriving. They do an amazing job investing time into our son as well as us as parents.
Debbie Bridges: My grandson attended here. The school has a nice family environment. We enjoyed attending their fundraisers. Our grandson is gifted but we were told he has a learning disability because he became bored and lost interest easily in the school activities. They went as far as telling us to use alternative options to explain information to him because they felt he was struggling to understand normal verbal interactions. Needless to say we were extremely worried and confused since we saw a different child at home. As it turned out his instructors had no formal training in educating children other than the Montessori method. They didn't seem to have any experience with toddler boys that have lots of energy or trouble sitting for more than a short time. After that we left because we didn't fit their perception of normal. We went to A Touch of Nature. They are amazing.
Charity Reeb: Discovery Garden has been a incredible experience for our family. We have 3 children who attended here (1 Kinder and 2 in elementary). I watched my kids throughout the school year really grow in their strengths and leadership. We loved the fact that our kids were able to work at their level and grow beyond even their grade-level in the areas of reading and math. The staff and teachers were really easy to work with to create individualized plans for each of our kids.

Caron Settle Parnell: Discovery Garden Montessori School provides the best early childhood education in Springfield! The teachers are fabulous and spend so much time getting to know the kids. The Montessori education helps promote self-sufficiency and helping others. The kids move at their own pace with help and guidance from the teachers and their peers. Such a great way to educate! Highly recommend this school!

Angela Shields: We have had a wonderful experience at DGMS and are so thankful for the care, respect, and love shown to our children. The teachers/staff are very helpful to answer any questions as well as give ideas for encouraging and supporting our children. Montessori is a lifestyle and it's a beautiful way of viewing others, especially children. My children leave school excited, confident, and intrigued by their experiences and that makes me happy!!! They work at various activities through the day either on their own or with a group (or their teacher), but they choose & direct their work and then work at their own pace. That ignites passions in them that stay lit throughout their lives! It's a beautiful thing to observe. So much to say, but basically, we love it! It's worth every sacrifice to allow our children to be apart of this community of kind, respectful, caring families and staff.
Georgia Cable: This is our son's second year at Discovery Garden. He LOVES going to school and I really feel they have his best interest at heart. The instructors and staff are kind and compassionate and lead by example. This school is amazing and will help your child grow and develop in ways you never imagined!
