Fire & Ice Restaurant & Bar: what do users think?
Ricky Mann: We were at the Oasis for the VFW State Convention. We were treated to dinner by the outgoing post Commander. I ordered the veal and Liquid Oasis. The drink was amazing! The veal was spectacular and it was honestly the first time I had asparagus. So kudos. I will eat here every Convention we have that the Oasis.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Michael F: Lisa is amazing and if you get her as your bartender you will have a great evening. If she's your server even better!!!! P.S. those chunks are way to big for ceviche and don't boil the shrimp let the lime cook it like it supposed to be traditionally.
Cari Forbes: Bartender was so friendly and mixed up great drinks. Kitchen crew looked professional and served up some incredible dishes and appetizers.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Crab Rangoon Pizza …More

Bryan Sexton: THE TRUTH ABOUT FIRE AND ICE!I would like to say that I have been coming to this place for roughly 15 years. When I first started dining at fire & ice I was mind blown. It was amazing the food was delectable and the service was out of this world. Sadly the only thing that has stayed the same was the service! The food has seriously suffered, it lacks consistent quality! Depending on which night or day you come, the drinks may be weak or strong, and the food might be decent or bad. As I said the consistency is absolutely terrible. My honest opinion is that nothing on the fire menu is worth the cost. Stick to the spark and the flare, also don't order cocktails wine or beer is your best bet! Please train your cooks ( 10 years ago I would have said chefs ) better I have faith that you can turn your food around.
Michael Tackett: Over priced but good
A P: Food was cold and wasn’t for my liking at all
Ameto Galu: Took my wife on the date yesterday, our first time there and it was amazing. Made a reservation and we got there early and got seated right away. Cocktails were amazing, started with the fried calamari, the garlic sweet tai sauce that comes with it was very delicious. I had the ribeye very tasteful, my wife had I think the tequila chicken, very spicy but she loves it. Our server, I think her name was JoLana, she said everyone calls her Jo. She did an awesome job, very attentive and patient. We had a great time, highly recommended to anyone, definitely going back soon. Thanks for the experience.
Kristy Winter: We went there for dinner Saturday night. The hostess and our waitress were pleasant. I had the Tequila Lime Chicken Pasta and my significant other had the Flat Iron Steak. Both meals were barely luke warm. The "thin cut" chicken was tough and his potatoes were still crunchy. We told the waitress about the potatoes and the kitchen sent out a bowl of luke warm, plain, mashed potatoes. We won't be back.
Annette Briggs-Myers: Beautiful, causal, and friendly atmosphere! Food was amazing! The waitress was very attentive and helpful!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Heather Leverich: I was annoyed that my husband made a reservation for my birthday dinner but they gave us a tiny table when plenty of booths were available. We asked to move though, and they quickly accomodated. Our server was very friendly and attentive and helpful.I absolutely loved the tuna tenderloin and wok veggies and they let me have double veggies with no rice with no upcharge. The seasonings on the veggies was amazing and the texture was perfectly tender crisp. I added a couple of $7 large scallops to my meal and wouldn't do that again because the scallops were good, but a bit underwhelming for the price. The Mac n cheese appetizer with burnt ends was scrumptious. The ceviche was pretty good. I'd order something else next time, but I'd definitely be willing to eat the ceviche again. I liked the scallops.I'm not a burger person but my husband's burger and fries were some of the best I ever tried. Probably the best burger and fries in Springfield. The sweet oniony sauces was so tasty. We tried the orange marmalade butter cake for dessert. The cake was really good. The marmalade tasted like it was from a Smuckers jar. The server was so nice to warm up the cake and didn't charge us for my birthday 🎈The drinks were pretty good. The pool view is fun. But a lot of the bar has a really casual sports bar vibe.

Progress: what do users think?
Carissa Purdy: Consistently rude front end staff. First time we went it was oddly empty and both wait and host staff created an awkward and unwelcome atmosphere. Assuming one bad experience would be atypical, we tried again only to experience rude front end staff again. Not worth our time and the frustration. It is in poor taste to treat guests like they are nuisances.
Keith&Kelly Clark: We are so in awe. And so disappointed that Progress is closing the doors on June 30. Be sure to get there before then!!!! The fennel salad was this crazy delicious blend of fennel, orange and dried salty olives. The leeks were topped with a salty pepita mix that was out of this world. The steak melted in our mouths and the gnocchi bolognese was so flavorful! To be balanced I have to say that the gnocchis were not the fluffy little pillows I had in Italy. But the dish was still so yummy! Just cannot sat enough good things about this food. And our server, Grace, was so knowledgeable and attentive. The Cab Sauvignon and CA red blend were both delightful. Do it quick! Before it is only a legend.
Autumn Sharp: Exceptional food, service, and experience
L T: My family brought me to progress for Mothers Day. It was hopping, and we were glad we had reservations as they cut off any further customers at 12 due to the volume. We were very disappointed to find out that they were out of half the menu. Leaving only one app option and the main courses we wanted were also unavailable. That wasn't the biggest issue, however. During our meals , we were treated to the most ridiculously inappropriate and explicit playlist playing loudly for everyone to hear. Most families were there with their children. Young and old and got to listen to Doja Cats "kiss me more".Super cool listening to her sing about wanting to"F@#k" something with your kids. There were several songs like this. When brought attention to the fact that there were families with young children, the staff said they didn't control the music. It was apparent that more than a few people were like "WTH is playing".I think coupled with the lack of items available, this has to be considered a less than average experience.Vegetarian options: Avocado toast
Bree: I really like Progress and have always had a nice experience here. However, today we walked in for breakfast and were told there was no more seating for walk ins or Reservations due to it being Mothers Day weekend. This is fine and understandable. But the hostess was very rude when telling us this and I felt like she had a "sorry, not sorry" attitude. Very disappointed with this interaction. Even my 13 year old son picked up on the negative vibe we received.
Randy Henderson: Called a week in advance to get a reservation for Mothers Day brunch. Calls go to voicemail. So left a voicemail explaining what we wanted, and also emailed the supplied address.Having not heard Monday, I tried again. Tuesday I tried again. Wednesday I made a special trip to the restaurant, only to be told they were full. I told them of my attempts to contact them, their answer was "Not sure what happened. Sorry."Maybe its good food, but it sure is poorly organized.
Michael Jones: Hands down the best dining experience in Springfield, without question.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
TacoTuesday MeatLoaf: The atmosphere and drinks were amazing! And there "dinner burger" is outstanding!! However, their octopus was HORRIBLY fishy tasting and just not good at all. Don't get me wrong, I love octopus! But I ate it on the west coast! Don't expect sea food in the middle of the USA to be good, cuz it never will be lol
Anna Y: Loved it! ☆☆☆☆☆Food, atmosphere, and service are outstanding. Love that it is locally grown! Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ally: I ordered the taste of progress and being a foodie thought I would love it all. Sadly I only enjoyed the biscuits.. the salads were weird and I can't say any of it was good. The octopus was covered in a black sauce that was just gross. I would go back to try other things but so far what I tried was not worth the 130 dollars in any way.
Jacob Funke: Love this place for brunch! Spicy blood Mary is a must! As are the donut holes. My entree was the Brunchwrap Supreme that was truly outstanding. Great services as well.
Josh Garrett: Had the Taste of Progress tasting menu. After reading every dish's description, I thought, I'm not gonna love that. I was pleasantly surprised every time. Super creative and delicious throughout. Service was awesome. This place is now one of my favorites in Springfield.
Roxanna Fultz: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Biscuits and Gravy, Brunch BowlMore
Max Grimes: Had an absolutely stunning meal here for an anniversary. Our server Hope was very knowledgeable about the menu, knew exactly how to pair drinks with our food, and was incredibly pleasant the entire evening. We had the butternut squash per Hope’s recommendation and it was fantastic, you won’t find another dish like it you simply MUST go in to try it. The steak tartare was our other appetizer and it made the tartare I had from flame the other week look drab by comparison. Our mains (chicken and pork) were among the best either of us have had in recent memory, and they were paired excellently with a Spanish white wine (thanks again hope for the rec). All in all, one of my favorite meals I have ever had experienced, and certainly the best dining experience I have had in the SGF area. If you only have one night out in Springfield, make sure it’s at progress.Vegetarian options: They have an entire section of the menu dedicated to vegetables. Vegetarians will be in heaven.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps from the parking lot to the front entrance and a flat floor plan made the restaurant very wheelchair accessible.
dreamsava: Pure delicious art. The best cauliflower dish I’ve ever had. Food bliss ❤️🧚
Niki Driggers: The menu is seasonal so if you want to try something specific from the current menu go sooner rather than later. The food is absolutely amazing. I had a salad as an appetizer that was all new ingredients to me and I loved every part of it.If you like to explore foods Progress is definitely a place to go.Vegetarian options: They do have vegetarian options. Most are salads but they do have a Main that is also vegetarian.
G Fleck: Outstanding as usual. Hope knew all but one menu selection with great detail. She provided expert suggestions as we wanted to share and enjoy multiple items. Brought two out of town newbies here. All were absolutely delighted with the experience.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Thomas Hunt: Springfield's finest dining experience! Eat the carrots, then eat some other stuff! Everything is great!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Nicolas Wilson: Arrived and was greeted by friendly hosts. The restaurant had a decent ambience to it. Our server was nice and did a good job. Ordered the Naan appetizer, a couple drinks, and the prime dry-aged steak. The Naan was okay. The drink was really good. The steak me and my girlfriend ordered medium rare. The food took quite awhile to Arrive with a slightly odd and unique side of broccoli and a sauce pairing. Both of our steaks were cooked well done. We let the server know and she had it redone in the kitchen. Ended up waiting another 30 or so minutes. The steak was what I'd expect an average 25 dollar steak to taste like but this was over twice as much at 52 dollars. I don't dislike the people or the food, but the pricing is too high for what you get here. There are not many options to select from for entrees or starters. I spent 152 for me and my girlfriend before tip. There are simply much better options in Springfield to spend your money at that doesn't feel like an incomplete experience.
Bryan Haile (Ouroboros0): One of the better dining experiences I’ve had in Springfield.

Justin Hedges: Where to start. All of our steaks? Way over-cooked. The ribs? Still had the freaking membrane on them (and very dry). The sweet tea? Barely sweet. The “premium side” of grilled corn that cost extra? An inedible couple of previously frozen half corn cobs you buy from Walmart. Waitress was nice, but that couldn’t make up for the absolute travesty that the food quality/prep was.
Ashley Crittenden: I am an avid Colton's fan. Anytime I have a rough day I make a togo order of "stress bread" and it has never failed to perk up my spirits. When I've dined in Marissa has been the bee's knee's. Colton's has been my rock the last few years.
