5 Spice China Grill: what do users think?
Laurie Wolters: So sad, this used to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in Springfield. We should have gotten up and left when we saw the anemic menu. The fried rice was a dried out joke. The spring rolls were cheap substitutions of what they used to serve. The general chicken was overcooked and dry. My egg drop soup was a ridiculously thickened mess. Someone near us got the lettuce wraps, and they serve iceberg lettuce with it. Where is the bib lettuce? So sad I forsee this restaurant shutting its doors. We won't be back.
Emilea Blair: Give Alex a ✨raise✨ he’s the best
Joshua Berzins: The food and service are always great at 5 Spice! In my opinion this is the best Chinese restaurant in Springfield.
Angeline Hein: There are a variety of foods to choose, something for everyone. The meals are consistently well prepared.
Kevin Lanning: Brittany took good care of us. The cream cheese wontons were amazing and the sweet & sour chicken was delicious.
Zoey Hupman: Great food and the service was great as well! The servers were fun and good at what they do!
Mitch Van Cleave: Eaten here repeatedly over the years and it's been consistently good. Best place in SGF for Asian cuisine.
c warren: If you haven’t been into 5-Spice for a while you are missing out. Alex, the general manager has made each of my visits to the restaurant one to remember. He and his staff are always very friendly and make sure you have all you need. If he or Brittany are your servers you can be assured an enjoyable meal. I’ll definitely be coming back..the food is incredible too.
Becca James: Food was great, especially the Lobster and cream cheese wontons.Alex, our server was fantastic. We will be back!!
DJ Stone: I am a truck drive who hauls food all over. I can't go into restaurants with my truck, so I had to use Uber eats. Well, they didn't even pay attention to the notes and messed up my order. If you order from this place via Uber eats, I'd call them to add or subtract anything because it won't get done.
Alex Spalding: Favorite Dishes: Beef and Broccoli noodles, Buddha's Feast, Cashew ChickenI vaguely remember when this place opened. If I remember correctly, the rumor was it was a stumbling experience for the owners as they didn't have Cashew Chicken on the menu early on. For those who don't know, you can't open a Chinese restaurant in Springfield, Missouri and not put Cashew Chicken on the menu, regardless of how good the food is. Unless you're just so big and self-important that you don't have to care, like Panda Express, there's no way around this fact. So, they put it on the menu asap. I do know that coming here was the first time I ever saw the dish referred to as "Springfield-style Cashew Chicken" -- well, you're in Springfield, so shouldn't it just be "Cashew Chicken"? Until I tried Chinese food outside of the Ozarks, I had no idea there was another dish referred to as cashew chicken, with grilled chicken and celery. Anyway, the way they make it at 5 Spice is perfect, so you can't go wrong ordering it here. For those who would enjoy trying anything else, the menu has a lot of very excellent dishes, with my favorites being the Buddha's Delight, one of the best tofu and vegetable dishes I've ever had anywhere, and the delicious beef and broccoli with wok-fired noodles is amazing also. If I could cook tofu the way they do here, I'd be rich, it's amazing.

Thomas Price: Started with the Crispy Lobster and Cream Cheese stuffed Wontons. You DONT have to settle for cream cheese and sugar! 6 of these monsters was on 7.95!As well as the pot stickers for 8.95 enough for multiple people. Crispy on the outside and nice tender flavorful meat inside. Came with 2 sauces on the plate. The best I’ve ever had.I went with the FIVE SPICE SIGNATURE WOK FRIED NOODLES with shrimp Loaded up.with carrots, broccoli, celery, red and green peppers and I chose beef. A rich garlic ginger sauce that hit all the umami and the veggies were perfect tendercrisp and the steak slices nice and tender. My brother ordered Kung Pao beef with fried rice . However waitress made a mistake and brought him Mongolian Beef with fried rice. She apologized and said she could correct the order. He was ok with it & just asked for siracha sauce to replace the heat aspect. Both dishes were excellent.Service was just meh . She didn’t have sweet tea, but offered sugar packs or sweetener. Then mixed up his order. Checked on us a few times and we were sat near the front and could over hear her talking bad about drive thru customersCheck out 5 Spice!

Christopher Clark: Really exceptional Chinese food in Springfield. Lots of flavors come through in each dish. Service is prompt. Great option if looking for more authentic Chinese food in Springfield. Not great if you’re looking for cashew chicken or other more Americanized dishes.

Steve Sanders: This hole-in-the-wall restaurant has THE BEST Chinese food I have EVER had. Mind blowing. It's a family operation, multi-generational, and you can tell they care. The first time I stopped in, I asked for an order of eggrolls. The owner's son, mid 20s, Chinese American, looked at me with disdain. “We only serve authentic Chinese food here.“THAT IS A GOOD THING. You will not be disappointed. I went back just two weeks later, this time with my family.
Jen Deall: Holy Cow!! Chinese foodie to the max and this place hits (most) every point. Authentic is an understatement. Every plate has its own unique flavors. Don't go expecting ambience or high end service. Truly a MUST GO for food. I altered a weekly business trip to a different day since they are closed on Mondays. Worth it.Food: 5/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More
Michael Gaudio: Got the pork belly with rice noodle and the cilantro lamb. Both were amazing. Huge portions great service. Felt like being in China.
Dalton Altizer: MIND BLOWING FOOD! the sweet and sour pork is the single best Asian dish I've ever had. The chicken is so good, it makes other chicken look bad. Tony Chien: I was looking for a good Chinese restaurant while I was in Springfield for a weekend. I decided to give this restaurant a try due to a high Google rating. The restaurant was small. It had simple decor and austere furniture. It was packed with customers when we arrived. We did have to wait a little bit for our food. Fortunately, the food presentation was excellent, and the portion was plentiful. The food was delicious and tasteful. It had a menu of authentic Chinese food. The price was reasonable. I would recommend anyone to come either early or late to avoid crowds during lunch and dinner time due to a limited seating capacity.
Ben Smith: Amazing real Asian, everyone so nice!

Van duh Bik: That lazy server tip himself 20% with terrible service, i dont know where all these good reviews came from. They’re probably bots.Food: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More
Lonnie Smith Sr: The server was rude from the start. When I looked at the prices.OUTRAGEOUS!!!Not in Springfield. If I spend $20 on lunch it better be my birthday. We didn't stay and eat.We went to another Chinese Restaurant that didn't have financing available.
Mo Hardy: Hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had. The braised pork belly is outstanding! SO full of flavour and luxuriously tender. Everything was fantastic and I cannot wait to go back. Caitlin: This is still one of my absolute favorite places to eat in springfield. I moved away last year and come back every couple months to visit family, every time I come back I have to go to Corner 21.The egg tofu on sizzling plate is delicious and stays hot the whole meal, it's possibly my favorite restaurant dish in all of springfield.
Linkhey LC: This small, unassuming building will fool you. A little white box on a corner but it is definitely a spot you will keep coming back to. Try something new each time, there is nothing bad here
