Jessica Hansen: Sunshine elementary is a joke. They are absolutely horrible when it comes to "troubled kids" behavior or otherwise they do not know how to deal with them. And going to the main school office gets you nowhere. They tell you that your child is the problem. Then take it apon themselves to try to switch your child schools when you are in the middle of moving because they dont want to deal with them anymore. I have contacted the school board and have gotten nowhere they side with the school everytime. If i had the option my children would not go to any springfield schools. Whole system is a joke

Kristin Michel: This school district is absolute garbage. My child has been continuously bullied by some girls at her school, Westport Middle School, and no one takes it seriously. Me and my child have spoken to counselors, teachers, principal, vice principal, office ladies, and everyone in between and the bullying and harassment hasn't stopped. My next steps are the school board, police, and an attorney. It's sad that there are anti bullying and anti harassment policies yet no one takes it seriously. Get it together and take these kids more seriously.

FOSTER TV LLC: Thank you SPS schools for the BIG Bash on Saturday. What a great way to come together as a community and connect. It was nice to see our District getting behind families and connecting. For some big Foster Families or Large Families in general, going back to school can be PRICEY. So having a layer of support is needed. In addition, I saw kids getting excited to get back and learn. Even though the lines were confusing were to go and what you were getting, you got it right. CHEERS!

Rustin Osburn: My wife got hired we lived out of state so we moved so she could start the job but when we got here the school did not give her all the information that she needed so they said she was not going to be hired when it’s was their fault and they were not willing to work with her to possibly do something else until she could do the paperwork they needed this is not good business.

They wait until the last possible minute to announce school closings due to inclement weather. It's a hot mess. No innovation, no creativity, no sparc. Just...meh.

Took days to address the issue of my son being spit on and called multiple racial slurs but was forced to come pick up his crutches because he had a doctors note and not a prescription. It was 34 degrees outside and she made her leave the building and stand outside for an Hour and a Half! And this woman is working with kids and hired to be in charge of children?! Clearly they will save their own before they save a child

Arthur Morgan: This place trained the bus driver for 210, this bus hasn't had a permanent bus driver all year currently. This bus driver got us to school, with five minutes before class starts. Meaning we were not late. But, it takes me, a speed walker, 2 minutes to get down to cafeteria, I also eat breakfast. I want this woman to never drive a bus again, as to insure that my peers and I get to school with time to spare! If I could leave a zero star review I would!

Danny Cazier: Having taught at Ozark High School for eight years, I can fully appreciate the fine tribute a colleague offered for the quality of the school. The school has many excellent, devoted teachers. It has exceptional extracurricular programs as well. But since a new superintendent took over in 2018, the entire district has suffered a steadily deteriorating teaching environment. The superintendent is tyrannical. He seems a fine fellow to most teachers. And he likely is . . . to everyone who defers to him and for as long as things go precisely his way. But when anyone points out that he has exceeded his authority or that there are important issues the district is neglecting, he attempts to silence them. If they don't immediately comply, then he drives them out of their job through direct harassment, manufacturing false charges against them, or both. This happens over and over. The teachers who don't leave are intimidated into silence. He has established this approach as the new administrative expectation for the district. Those teachers who don't yet see it would do well to remember Pastor Martin Niemoller's caution "When they came for the . . . I did not speak out because I was not a . . ." You look the other way at your own peril. It is said that "Today's teaching environment is tomorrow's learning environment." Without a wholesale change of district leadership, his influence will handicap the district for many years to come. The students will ultimately pay the cost of this dishonest, retaliatory, abusive teaching environment.

Johnny Rooster: Disturbing how the superintendent Chris Bauman has this school board under his thumb as financial, structural and personnel scandals increase along with his salary.

Cassidy Smith: Unless you are a native of Ozark Missouri be prepared to be sickened and disgusted by the way this school operates. Of course there are a few hidden gems of teachers who have huge hearts and integrity; but the core of how this school works is disgusting. There is constant bullying from students as well as the staff, public belittling of the students, etc. I had meetings with staff, principals, numerous times… and nothing would ever be done. Just a lot of talking to me. It was a traumatic to say the least. Wish I could give zero stars. Thanks to the two teachers who were compassionate.

Albert Bryant: I am a teacher at Ozark and think this school is fantastic. The opportunities for students abound and the school's mission is student centered. Combine that with a great administration and top notch staff, the school is just a great place!
