Finley Wilson: Kelly is amazing. She really gets down to what's going to make you happy. We are beginners that needed help with our first dance. She helped us with everything from a box step to a lift. We felt comfortable the whole time. If you're getting married or looking for something to do with your spouse, call Kelly!! She's very flexible with scheduling too, which we needed.

After one group lesson I felt very comfortable and now hate to miss one. I am having a great time learning and being a part of this great fellowship. I encourage my friends who want to learn to dance to do as I have done. This class is for all ages (in our class we have18 to senior adult )and the dance floor is full of smiles and laughter by all. I am learning to dance with and beside the pros....encouraging and supporting my many missed steps and clumsy turns. It was a very positive experience and we went from there to take private dance lessons off and on all year. We’ve learned a lot and we really appreciate how flexible Kelley is with her scheduling and how knowledgeable patient and encouraging she is. I would recommend Kelley and Step-by-Step to anyone!
Clarissa Barron: We got to the studio at 8 and she was finishing the end of a lesson so we waited outside. I text her and she said to come in. We introduced ourselves, our song, and got started. It was a great experience! That was, until the end. When we finished up and talked about more lessons, somewhere in there she mentioned that the groupon we received was for only HALF an hour and that we had to pay her the other half. I didn't think this was fair because it is not mentioned anywhere in the fine print. I went to grab my wallet and looked at my phone and realized it hadn't even been an hour either. It was 8:59 when I went to go grab my wallet and by then the lesson was well over and done. Be warned that she will not tell you about this and she will wait until its over and then demand that you pay her.

Kenneth Moore: You have heard the term “two left feet”? I wished I was that good, so I contacted this studio. I am so glad I did! The instructors are so nice, and made me feel comfortable and extremely non-embarrassed! They take thier time and show you the correct way to do things. They have an EXTREME amount of patience, taking somebody like me that was shy and embarrassed to even go to a place with a dance floor to being out there ON the dance floor!!! Learning how to dance has been a life changing event for me, and I am very glad I found this studio! You will not feel out of place here if you want to learn to dance.....do it here!!!!!

kenna davis: We have taken dance lessons in the past from Kelly Frey to prepare for some of our kids' weddings and have had a blast! But at the beginning of this year we started taking just because we want to learn and get better. Kelly is an amazing teacher, is so patient, yet really helps us refine our dancing so we hopefully will look good on the dance floor. We are in our late 50's/early 60's and really think this is a wonderful activity to keep our bodies healthy as well as our minds sharp as we age. Our weekly lesson is a really good rhythm for our week. We've made new friends along the way too! There's only good to be gained by taking dance lessons at Step by Step Dance Studio!

Whitney Standlea: My husband and I were traveling through Springfield on a weekend getaway. I have always wanted to take a dancing class and we've never found the time so we contacted Dance with Me at the Savoy Ballroom. This place is great and here are a few reasons why:1) This place worked with us to find a time to fit our very limited travel schedule as we passed through Springfield.2) Andy was our instructor. He was patient, and thorough, and I felt like we left our session really getting down the basics he tried to teach us. (We worked on east coast swing.)3) Andy covered several different minor things as we went through the lesson that I know we would have figured out had we been just watching a video. And those little things make all the difference. Lessons are the way to go!4) The Savoy Ballroom is in downtown Springfield and it is a neat venue! We really enjoyed seeing their venue and having class in it.5) Dancing doesn't come easy for my husband, and I'm not too great at it and pretty self-conscious. Andy kept the mood very lighthearted, and the ballroom has curtains all around so there are no street watchers.In short, if you'd like to try some private lessons out, I would highly recommend it

Our instructor, Obie, did an amazing job editing our song, choreographing our first dance, breaking it down so we could learn each step and helping us get in sync. JensUS: This must be one of the best places to enjoy learning dancing ever. Tonight's show at Hammons Hall was amazing and really showed what people are capable of when they have professional instructors who know what they are teaching, and who enable and motivate them at the same time.We recently moved back to the US from Europe. Our daughters, aged 3 and 6, did not speak English very well/at all. Our youngest one was also kind of shy. Yet, Ms Whitney and all the awesome skilled instructors welcomed her with open arms, passion and lots of love, all while teaching them the essentials of music, rhythm and movement. Over the last year, they really, really put so much personal effort into making this the best time of our daughters' young lives while at the same time consciously working on the foundation for a future full of creative movement and joy. We cannot thank them enough for this.If you live in Springfield, MO or nearby and would like to learn dancing - be it ballet, jazz, hiphop - you name it - or you have a little one by your side, you are lucky, because this is one of the best places you can go to/send your little ones to.

Nicole Valentine: My 3 year old daughter has been attending Dance Canvas for almost a year now, and we love it! The instructors are consistent and great with the kids. She has kept the same instructor since beginning at Dance Canvas, which is much unlike some experiences we have had at other places where my kids have had several instructors in a short period of time. Even through the pandemic, they did weekly videos and some virtual classes. It was one of the things that my daughter looked forward to most each week while we were staying at home! They communicate well and often and always respond quickly to emails, which is really helpful when you have a busy schedule and don’t have time to play phone tag. Highly recommended!

David Reeves: When I signed my granddaughter up for Ballet & Jazz, I chose Dance Canvas because a few people mentioned to me what a good place it was for the kids. As an added bonus, it was close. A year later I would say that our experience with these wonderful people is nothing short of amazing. From the fist call I made through Kaylee's first full season, we have been treated warmly and professionally. Most importantly, Kaylee has been shown patience and love. Watching the staff, the passion for what they do and their love for the kids is very obvious. We had such a great experience our first year that I now have two granddaughters attending. Kayla Johnson: This is my daughter’s second year of dance, and she has absolutely fallen in love. It’s so neat to watch her practice and see her eyes light up when she dances. Dance Canvas is always welcoming to dancers of any size, and you can tell they take such pride in their studio. I highly recommend bringing your child for a free class!

Justin Braden: Great place for your little one to learn dance with their peers. My daughter has been dancing here for 3 years and has learned so much. They have adult classes too if you want to learn. All of the instructors are very patient and known their stuff.

Instruction at Dance Mission focuses on developing dance skills and developing the dancer as a whole. The best in town!

G Smith: Studio Vie is an amazing place to send your kiddo for dance. I have a (now) 4yo daughter who started about 5 months ago. All of the instructors are fantastic with her! She can be a bit of a handful, but they are great at focusing her energy into learning their art.We really couldn't find a better place with better people!
