Zenith Climbing Center: what do users think?
Diego Villarreal: Cool and friendly staff. Other rock climbers are also friendly. They have day passes and membership options. They have gear rentals and other programs for adults and minors. All in all, great place.
Jeremy Matthew Hartman: Zenith is the best rock climbing gym I've been to. Been coming here with friends for the last couple of months and enjoy it.
Adonica Dotson: Great facility with knowledgeable and friendly staff willing and able to work with, and supply equipment for, all ages 4 & up. Kids area for bouldering and climbing for various levels and same for adults. Reasonable prices. They also offer yoga, classes and gym memberships.
Rylan Andersson: Honestly, an excellent gym. They pack a good number of routes into the lead area despite its small size, and the quality of the routes is stellar. The setting is really good for a modern gym, and the grades actually felt appropriate, compared to most gyms super featherbagging their routes. Staff was super cool. When I'm in Springfield in the future, I won't have to think twice about coming here for a good workout.
Mythology Is My Major: Wonderful place, wonderful people. Being a newcomer, I was definitely nervous about people watching me while I learned a new hobby, but after spending 3 hours falling, listening, learning, and generally enjoying the atmosphere of this colorful gym; I'm happy to report an extremely friendly and welcoming establishment.
Andrew Schesser: I only tried the bouldering which was fun for about 20 minutes. There were maybe 4 routes suitable for a moderate beginner. All the grades are a range like “V1-V3” with the higher grade being more accurate. The gym is also overpriced if you want to rent equipment. $26 for a single climbing session, including equipment, is too much. Also, the holds are middle of the road in quality.
Jordan Peters: Only commercial grade piece of workout equipment is a bike with a sign that say's "only for z-fit use". Rest of the gym equipment is some discount stuff you'd find in your uncle's garage. Treadmill incline has been broken the entire time I've been a member.Route setting is a mixture of gross and boring since Christian left. Gym seems consistently busy. Staff can't be making much since they are 17 y/o on average and have high turn over. Put two and two together and you have to wonder where owners are putting their money. Certainly not giving any of it back to the gym equipment or community.Tape on bouldering walls seems paranoid and looks tacky. Sigh.
Grayson Sullivan: Blake really pulled through and was super helpful and made sure I had a good time
Dason Kingore: My man Blake was the life of the party but in a safe way. He made safely fun! He quickly went over the rules and made sure we understood everything. Great guy, and very nice to talk to
Joi Brown: I feel super lucky. I had never climbed before, and I wanted to try it for a personal reason, but it's already become so much more than that original catalyst for me. Christine is amazing. I love that she doesn't just tell you what to do, she explains exactly why. The facility itself gives us everything we need to explore the many facets of climbing. I feel like I'm truly learning the skills and the safety measures, and that makes all the difference. I also have complete trust in her ability to guide me and to keep me safe. She keeps me going even when I doubt myself. She listens to me and really hears me, and puts up with my occasional dirty looks :). I realized rather quickly that she was incredibly knowledgeable, EDUCATIONAL, and also had the perfect personality to be the trusted and effective trainer I need, so I actually asked her if we could pick up a day of regular fitness training, as well. I am always excited to work with her, because not only is she a health and fitness expert and an expert at reading individual needs, she's also just a fantastic person. I truly couldn't ask for a better guide in this journey that I'm on.
Ben MacGregor: The gym looked small but nice in the pictures, so when my family and I saw it was near our hotel we were excited to try it out. Upon entry, we were told we would not be able to take a top rope belay test because they were "understaffed". A little bit annoying, but I'm more of a boulderer anyway so I didn't care too much. But then we were then given a tour by the one staff member who was working the desk, which took about as long as a top rope belay test would've taken...I started my session on the bouldering wall in the back, half of which was slab. The boulders were fun, and grades felt pretty accurate. There was a variety of different types of problems so I was quite pleased. After climbing everything in the back, I went to the front wall where the cave section is. Personally, I love steep climbs a lot more than slab. And because I actually enjoyed the slabs they had I was looking forward to some cave climbs. I was let down by a lot of very basic problems, left right left right left, pull hard on small holds sort of climbing. And the grades on this wall felt about a grade stiffer than they should've been. Now if they were actually creative and fun boulders, I could forgive that, but these were not. It is very very rare that I enjoy slabs more than overhangs. There was only one problem on that entire wall that I can honestly say I enjoyed. Overall, the setting was just decent, but at least it was consistent.I should also mention there was a youth team practicing while I was there. I'm fine with that, I actually coach myself, and they weren't in the way at all. The coach had a drill and a setter's hold bucket with drill bits and such that she was using to set some moves for the kids. That's great, except when the practice finished and the coach left, she just left the drill and holds and stuff on the bench, which doesn't seem very safe. The head setter at my gym would've had a fit about that.Tldr; not super friendly or professional staff, mediocre setting, and safety issues.
Colin Henley: Sick place to climb
Ed Ward: Fun and a variety of rock climbing features with different skill levels.
J Fridley: Had a birthday party for our four year old, and everyone had a great time. The staff were very friendly and patient, and all the kids worked their butts off while climbing, which is all you can ask for. Fun gym to climb at too.
Zach Kauffman: I have been to numerous gyms around the US and have been climbing at Zenith for about 1.5 years now. I'll be moving to Texas in June, but it would be a crime to not to at least review the gym that I've been fortunate enough to call home for so long. The gym has some of the nicest staff who run incredibly accessible classes for all ages and set some amazing climbs. While membership can be a tad pricey, you get more than the cost in value (both in the form of discounts and in the aggregate of money spent per month). For those looking for specifics:- Zenith has two bouldering walls. The front wall has a 45 degree surface that blends into a massive cave. The front wall also has top-outs which lead to a weights area (easily accessible for strength training). The back wall is less steep and has a medium overhang. This wall has lots of space for slabs and technical boulders.- Zenith has a large amount of top rope, auto-belay, and lead climbs set on 35ft walls. There are just four (I believe) auto-belay anchors, so getting top rope certified really expands the amount of big wall climbs available. Personally, I haven't done much lead, but the climbs look awesome and have lots of variety for all styles.- Zenith has a smaller side area separate from these. This area has a large (with slopers and rails) campus board, a pull-up/beast maker area with bars, and (one of my favorites) a tension board. For the uninformed, a tension board is a standardized board that has LED lights under the holds, meaning you can customize your climbs with the Tension app.- Zenith sets a very large swath of difficulties. There are generally, boulder-wise, at least three or four V8+ boulders at a time, giving plenty of projects for the more advanced. There are tons of intermediate climbs designed to teach specific concepts. There are also tons of beginner climbs for new folks.- They also host yoga and calisthenics classes. Though I haven't been involved in them, they look very fun and difficult enough to get value in them.Zenith is Springfield's climbing hub; if you are looking to get stronger or just have fun, check them out! While your hands may be in tatters by the end (which for those less experienced, that is part of the sport; they get better and less fragile as you climb more and develop better technique), your spirits will be high! Climbing is one of the best sports ever; the climbing community is generally humble, encouraging, and supportive of everyone no matter the skill level.Have fun!!!
Bethany Stephenson: Fun, unique experience. They have smaller walls and automatic belay lines for kids and different bouldering levels. They showed the kids how to hook themselves up so they could work everything on their own with just minor supervision. Only complaint was it's very pricey. The youth day pass was only $13, but then you have to pay another $7 to rent the shoes and harness. After rentals and tax for 2 kids the total was $44. The kids also complained about their hands hurting. After 30 minutes of climbing their hands were bright red with a couple blisters forming. We left after about 1 hour.
Josef Geshka: Awesome! 100% recomend
John Thaemlitz: There is always a new challenge waiting as routes change frequently. The new (2021) Tension Board is nice for balancing out your strong and soft sides. Kids classes & birthday parties make it fun for all ages. Staff is helpful and definitely knowledgeable. Gear shop also has a descent selection. It's a great environment to get away from digital frenzy.
Carissa Hurt: My group of friends and I love hanging out here for a afternoon of fun. It is the perfect spot to get your workout in and have a insanely fun experience. There are many levels of difficulty and even classes for you learn more. Each path is labeled to help you know what may be easy or challenging. The courses include auto belays, top-rope belays, bouldering, and free climbing. There is also a workout section and small shop. The place is super clean and the staff is insanely friendly. I highly recommend for anyone looking for an adventurous time.
Antonia Furlo: Nice to have a gym at all in the area and it's very accessible for new climbers, however though their system for toprope is safe and as dummy-proof as can be, the system sets people up for failure and frustration if they ever dream of moving outdoors or even to a gym with less precautions. Coming on a weekend was a mistake to get any serious climbing done and staff was spread thin for the amount of parties they needed to babysit. Ended up just bouldering the whole time because staff wasn't available to do a belay test. Gym space was well utilized though and they had a decent amount of training equipment available.
Scar Robbins: This place is pretty rad. Recently found out about it. Different levels of difficulty and types of climbing. I had lots of questions and the staff was patient and nice in answering them. I highly recomend whether solo or a group of friends.

Ozark Adventures: what do users think?
Edmond McClure: Great places to purchase items for your next camping, hiking or overlanding adventure. Employees are very knowledgeable and friendly!!
Megan Schiller: Top of the line, high quality outdoor goods
Melissa Baker: I had a great experience here. The employees were super kind and helpful. Sadie was very attentive to my needs and helped me find the perfect pair of shoes for my arch problems, i can definitely see that she cared about having the perfect comfortable shoes for me. I definitely will be coming back and recommending this store to friends and family.
Ella Michaels: Clean, well organized little store with a nice product selection! Fun to look around in. And they’ll work with you on ordering gear you need if they don’t have it in stock. Customer service is attentive and helpful. However I’ve noticed the past few times, the big guy who’s always there is pouty and just straight up rude to the poor other workers, to the point where it’s very noticeable from a customer standpoint. It makes the shopping experience uncomfortable. If you’re going to bully your coworkers, at least don’t do it in front of all the customers in the store. Just writing this hoping to bring it to the attention of management so this can be looked into.
Kenneth Brown: If you want expert advice from people who care about the world they work within then this is the place. Highest quality of products and service to match. Considered buying a lot of my products online but after stopping in to see what they offer and ask questions it was a no brainer that this is where I want my money to go. Any slight increase in cost I may pay is massively outweighed knowing I have exactly what I need.Thank you Maddox for all of your help!
Karlie Stephenson: Highly recommend shopping there for all your outdoor and hiking needs. They are local and super friendly.
Ryan Martin: Great shop, and the employees are extremely helpful and pleasant.
Rebekka Hansen: I went in to look for hiking boots. The lady was really helpful and attentive, and helped me try on multiple pairs while explaining pros and cons. I’m kind of picky and due to the market there weren’t tons of options—anyways I ended up loving a pair but when I tried them on we realized my foot is too wide for those to be comfortable for me. She could’ve just soldthem to me but she recommended that I find a shoe that’s wider so I can have good circulation whilehiking. That built my trust with her and if I need to get gear in the future I’d love to try them out again.
Steven H: Great place to go if you want to look like you hike or go backpacking...if you actually do, find another shop
Nathaniel Sweet: Staff is very friendly and they have a massive selection on all things outdoors. One of the best places in Springfield if you enjoy hiking and the outdoors
James Hooten: Walked in, had exactly what I needed. Quick help and friendly!
Bob Mitchell: The best place in the Springfield area to get any outdoor equipment. I have bought clothes, hiking boots and backpacks here for years. The employees work with you to find what you need for hiking.
Chris Class: They have a great mix of higher end/quality clothing, camping gear, rock climbing items and water sports.Great selection of sleeping bags and tents as well.I’ll definitely be returning again.Oh, and the staff was kind and seemed very knowledgeable.
Maceo Calico: Limited selection mostly the same gear different brands vs a variety of gear.
Gary Lemmonds: This is not a camping store! It's 85% high-end clothing. Like there is a demand for that in Springfield. They had 3 tents and about 10 backpacks on display, up a LONG staircase, at MSRP or more. Don't waste you time.
Jerry: Great selection, enjoyed my new Vasque boots
Jeff Kelley: Best store of its kind in Southwest Missouri.
David Fields: Great camping store. Perfect balance of technical gear and clothing.
let's ride NOW: The stuff I had bought there was excellent but the staff wasn't all that knowledgeable
James Wells: They seemed to have less specialized clothing on this visit. I didn't find hiking pants in his size. It seems like there was more selection the last time I went.
Wes Smith: Great little store for all your long and short term camping needs! I think they even have boats inside. The staff was helpful and pleasant! I will definitely return!

zx6r diva: Looking for boat parts today. Had everything. Always a fun place to visit even if ur just looking. So much to see
KyLee Anette: Had a pretty disappointing experience during my recent visit to Bass Pro Shop here in Springfield, MO. The visit started out pretty good, I went with my family looking for some camping gear. We then stopped at the Riffle Coffee shop for some coffee. The cashier there asked what I wanted and I ordered, things seemed fine at that point in time. I then sat and waited for what seemed like 15 minutes for my drink. Everyone else got their drinks, even people behind me in line received their drinks before I did. I ordered a simple Iced Vanilla Latte. Finally they called my drink out and the taste of the coffee was really horrible. It didn’t taste anything like a latte, more like a cold brew with zero sweetener. I went back to the counter and the cashier who had taken my order earlier was still there. So I asked if it would be possible if they could remake my drink since I spent $6 on it and the young lady didn’t even look up at me and said I could add some sugar, almost as if she was gritting her teeth through the sentence. The ladies in the back didn’t even offer to remake it or even bother to step in. I was pretty upset that I was treated that way. Not sure why the simplest of things are such an inconvenience for some people, but they don’t have to worry about me returning to their coffee shop. I’m a young adult who has literally worked at a coffee shop myself and I never mistreated customers like that. Hopefully Bass Pro Shop can, in the future, train their employees to treat their customers better. Pretty sure the saying is “ The Customer Is Always Right. “
Garry: Amazing place to shop or just walk around and look at stuff
H: Awesome destination. Need more than a day to see everything here.
Johnathan “Hallmiester” Hall: Always a must stop on our trips!

jim sim: Huge clean store. Have everything needed for fishing . Always in stock
Joshua Smith: First timers and loved it
S Greenlee: Loved it
Caroline LU: 超棒的戶外生活旗艦店,裡面有很多免費參觀博物館,值得逛2小時。
John Jenkins: They hire anyone and without having any knowledge at all about the products they sell or service. And they charge locals Tourist Tax which is complete bs. I live here, I pay taxes here already. How can you charge me a tourist tax? Just goes to show Bass Pro is nothingore than a greedy corporate structure that feeds off greed. Completely shady. Can't stand this place. You have people selling firearms or ammunition that can't even spell firearm.
Russ Tharp: This place has everything.
