Northwestern Mutual: what do users think?
Briana Christie: You’re better off going anywhere else. Deserves 0 stars.
Sehun Park: NM's mission & vision is doing the right thing and putting people first. However, their mission and vision were never shown to me. My account got lapsed twice due to their mistake, miscommunication, and unorganized business operations. Also, they were so difficult to reach when I needed them. If I was the business owner and made mistakes, I would talk to the client in person or over the phone at least and try to come up with a better solution. I understand that my monthly payment was not big enough as much as other NM clients, but they should have done the right thing to make things better when they made mistakes. I believe I was a valuable client because I never skipped a single monthly payment. It was my mistake to trust them to take care of my financial planning and needs. I hope my review was helpful to people who are seeking to have financial services through this location.
Cayos los Indios: If you like being misled or straight up lied to, this is the place for you!Are you a college student who was asked to interview for an internship here? Don't show up. Springfield is full of much better and more ethical internship opportunities. You will be told that you will not be cold calling. That is a lie. Cold calling is a huge part of your duties. You will be sent to a weekend-long out of town training, and they'll initially tell you that they will cover the costs. That is a lie. They give you 50 bucks.Part of your interview duties is to put together 40 people you know with their contact info. They will tell you "If you get the job, you keep the list. If you don't, we take the list and shred it." That is a lie. Let's think about that, why wouldn't you just keep the list either way? They keep the list to cold call your family and friends and use your name as a sales pitch. After starting, you'll be asked to add 60 more people for a total of 100 contacts. These are the people you'll start calling. Can't fill in the full 100? You'll be told to find random local people on LinkedIn to contact. They might try to convince you that this is not cold calling, but once again, that is a lie. They told us that the retention rate for the college financial advisor position is 12%. This was meant to inspire the competitive edge within us and push us to be part of that 12%. Instead, it exposes the absolute lack of ethics in calling this position an internship, and the lack of ethics with this company in general.People do not quit because the work is hard (it's not), they quit because they are not comfortable misleading the community the way NWM misleads it's employees. The environment fosters a culture of lying. The higher ups lie to their employees about their duties to get them in the door (gotta make up for that 12% retention rate right?). The employees are expected to mislead and lie to prospective clients. If you're doing business here, you are likely being lied to.
Layton Harris: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
Tijani Karaborni: Really disappointed by the lack of professionalism and lying by Drew Scott. Drew called my workplace without prior connection, said he knew me to the operator and asked to speak with me. He did not know me. We did not connect prior to this. He had sent me a LinkedIn invitation and a message which I ignored because of my poor experience with Northwestern Mutual in my past. He grossly mispronounced my name, which in turn was grossly mispronounced over the page system in my workplace, which was terribly embarrassing. He then goes on to tell me he is a friend of my coworker. I spoke with said coworker and she told me she decided not to work with Drew and they certainly are not friends.I have multiple issues with this, but cold-calling a business, hoping to seek out clients is extremely unprofessional. By doing this you are saying “my work is important enough to take time out of your work” which is disrespectful.I hope the other clientele here is treated with more respect than I was, because this experience has left a really sour taste in my mouth.
Grace Scott: Positive:ProfessionalismProfessional, knowledgeable, and personable service all around from this company. They genuinely care about the well-being of their clients and it shows. Would definitely recommend this to anyone needing some financial advising!
Julie Alva: Positive:Value
Jamie Russell: They have taken exceptional care of me since I became a client, and they have helped me grow financially in ways that I wouldn't have had I not met with them. I definitely would recommend them!
Hannah Kassing: They really do a great job taking care of their clients, and they aren't overly pushy. They will be absolutely honest, and only help you if it appears necessary. I am thoroughly impressed.
Ryan Burland: Very poor at communicating. Will definitely be looking elsewhere to invest.
Tyler Ross: A good friend of mine refers me this guy named Jordan Wright. Cutting straight to the point I had something that came up and missed an appointment with him twice. He tried to call me when I missed said appointment and I dropped his call. Monday comes around and he calls me again and then starts to say how my friend “made me out to be a good guy” and that I accepted his invitation through email and how rude I was when I didn’t call him to let him know I wasnt going to be there. Then proceeded to tell me I wasn’t a good fit for them.Last time I checked when you hit maybe on on an invite it’s most likely going to be a probably not. This guy has got to get better with his customer service skills cause I’ve never been talked to by someone who wants my money so rudely. Moral of the story. If you have something come up and miss a couple appointments with this guy be expecting to get a nasty phone call from this guy. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWEAR.
Thomas Stock: I have a good friend of mine that works for this company. I just got off the phone with them and have learned a lot about investments. I don’t know much about them but I do know that they are a real company so don’t judge something you don’t know until you get more details.
Tyler Officer: I've gotten a few phone calls from this place but I've never dealt with them, I don't know where they would have gotten my number.
Rob Flowers: At least 3 of my friends have been harassed by cold calls from this company for TWO YEARS. After repeatedly telling them to stop and showing up in person demanding they stop. At least one has contacted the BBB about this conduct. Do NOT give them your phone number.
