Upon discovering that it's recommended to have one tuned after a move I followed up by researching piano tuners in the area. I found Mr. Joyner ( the piano doctor ) by doing that.I called him, asked him tons of questions. He patiently answered each and every one. He then preceded to give me advice on things to look for when checking out a piano myself. He said he'd happily come look at a piano if I wanted for a modest fee *BUT* rather than spend money for that, to just call him from the location of the piano and discuss things with him from there.Since that time I've looked at quite a few pianos, sometimes I didn't even bother to call him as I knew right off from the things he told me to look for that it was not the one for me. Other occasions he took the time to listen to the tone of the instrument over the phone...as me to look at particular things and gave me his opinion.I could call him and give him listing numbers from Craigslist ads and he would give me thoughts on piano brands, asking prices etc. I have never had the pleasure of such an interesting business transaction.Wen I did finally find my piano ( with his help ) he was able to point me in the direction of an affordable and reliable mover, and scheduled the date form him to come tune my piano all within the course of less than 1 week.I would happily recommend him to anyone in the area that could use his services as I could not have been more pleased with his work.

JaNell Zeigenbein: Richard first arrived to take a look at our piano in January. He had a prompt arrival time and was able to diagnosis the problems with our older unused piano. He sat down with us and developed a plan to refurbish the piano with a timeframe of completion and a estimate of cost that was financially affordable.In his next few visits, Richard was prompt with arrival times once again and spent many hours repairing and tuning the piano. He also checked back a few different times to make sure the repairs stayed intact.Our piano was made in the 60's we suppose, it also was bought from a concert pianist so it had been used very much. But it has sat for many years not played as our daughters only took lessons as children. Our granddaughter has began lessons and is loving them. It was apparent that our piano needed tuning and help because several keys were sticking. Richard was a knowledgeable and gifted professional. As he tuned the piano he played several songs to check his work. With our highest regards we recommend Richard's piano services. We are cherishing the beautiful melodies that are being played by our granddaughter now.
