the Studio: what do users think?
Brad Maples: I took guitar lessons for a little over a year with Clint. I greatly respect Clint's approach to teaching and his ability to meet people where they are in their learning. Clint never talked down to me, and never made me feel dumb or inadequate in any way. He is a fantastic teacher, but also a great man. I enjoyed getting to know Clint just as much as I enjoyed furthering my guitar skills. I appreciate and respect Clint so much and would highly recommend him to anyone interested in music lessons.
Asher “The Average Guy” Nelson: Best Music lessons place ever! The Harrisons are legends at everything they do. I wish I could give 10 stars!
Bennett 1030: Amazing teacher. Clint is absolutely the best, he takes his time with my child and makes sure he understands each session.
Jocelyn Feola: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI’ve been taking lessons for over a year and i’m very pleased with the services and people that attend to me. They are friendly and full of Gods love and are solely devoted to helping you!! I would definitely recommend taking lessons here as it has been very beneficial and affordable to both me and my family.
Edna C: When we were first looking for a guitar teacher, we came across the positive reviews, thinking, "Oh, he must be good." During our lesson with Clint, we came to really like him right away on account of his warm demeanor. My son enjoys playing guitar with him. He has been taking lessons with Clint for about 3 to 4 months now and at times during our daily devotions I would ask my son to play for us and I would be amazed at how well he plays the guitar because of Clint's teaching. If you are looking for a guitar teacher, I recommend him 100%. He is that good!
Bill Dustin: If you are interested in learning guitar, give Clint the opportunity to help you. I began my guitar journey after the age of 70 and didn't know the first thing about playing guitar but had the drive to learn. Clint has taken me from basics through learning chords, music theory, chord progression, tabs and playing songs. With hands on lessons he can help the beginner, intermediate and advanced player.
Abby Brown: We have a 7 year old in guitar lessons with Clint and a 5 year old in piano with Julie. Clint gets so genuinely excited every time my daughter masters a new skill, and is also very encouraging when she gets frustrated. Julie handles my wiggly 5-year-old even better than I would. She is so patient and does a great job teaching on her level. We've done numerous extra-curricular activities in which we really see little to no progress from week to week, but from rhythm to reading and playing music, my girls have both learned so much since starting lessons with Clint and Julie just a few months ago. It's been a very rewarding experience for us and I would highly recommend the Studio.
spazecudet see: Julie is a very knowledgeable and patient piano teacher who teaches my three children to try their best and achieve their musical goals. I am very thankful for her studio and all her help!
Erin-Rae Peace: I first started taking guitar lessons from Clint when I was in middle school. I was shy and intimidated by trying a new instrument, however, Clint's demeanor and kind spirit always put me at ease! He always reassured me that learning takes time and to not become discouraged by the process. Between the resources and curriculum provided, and weekly attention to my growth, I was able to learn a diverse rang of skillsets including basic theory, classical guitar, chords, worship music etc. Clint uniquely takes your interests into consideration and allows you to customize your experience while simultaneously providing a foundational education. Fast forward: I discontinued lessons for several years due to academic/degree pursuits. Just a few months ago, Clint and I reconnected. At the age of 27, I can proudly say I am revisiting guitar and taking lessons again. It's something I've always been passionate about, but "left on the shelf" for quite some time. I have so appreciated Clint's ability to meet all of his students where they are at and encourage them to begin the process again regardless of the "level" they perceive themselves to be at. He's all about helping his students enjoy the process! I would recommend Clint to anyone at any age! It's never too late to start or revisit something you love. Thank you for your investment in my life, Clint!
Erin Ward: Clint has been great. Our daughter decided she wanted to learn to play guitar when she was 7. His method of teaching is very well tailored to each student. The studio environment is very relaxing and welcoming. Jaylee looks forward to her lessons each week and loves that she continues to learn new things.
Gil Turk: If you want to learn how to play guitar, I 100% recommend Clint at The Studio. I took lessons elsewhere before switching to Clint and it made a huge difference when I switched. He offers a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that helped the learning process go much smoother. He is very knowledgeable in music theory and is familiar with several playing styles. I can only play the way I can today because of him. Look no further for a teacher!
Tyler Foreman: Great experience. Patient and willing to work with you dependent upon your learning style. Great instructor!
Galen Gidman: Clint and Julie are excellent music teachers. I spent several of my teenage years taking music lessons from them and enjoyed every minute of it. They do a great job being friends with their students while also keeping the class on track. I'm now in my mid twenties and I'm still proud to call them friends.
Candida Arvizu: Mr. Harrison is such an encouraging, patient teacher. My seven year old son looks forward to his lessons and getting to learn new songs and techniques. He is so proud of some of his music, that anyone who stops by for a visit gets a concert! He has also taught at OTC and a local community orchestra for some years and he has a very good reputation in our community as a teacher and as a person. All my children have taken lessons from him at some point. I'm glad my son can learn from him, too.
Deanna Crawford: My son has taken guitar lessons from Clint for several years. He began with zero experience and has learned so much! He now plays in our youth band at church. Clint is an exceptional teacher. He tailors lessons to each student's musical interests. Clint has years of experience and a wealth of knowledge that he shares enthusiastically. Our family highly recommends Clint at The Studio!
Angie Canovi: Clint & Julie Harrison are amazing Instructors! My son has picked up guitar way quicker than I thought he would & he absolutely loves working with Clint. We are also pleased with the reasonable prices. I would recommend The Studio for both kids and adults.
Dale Hohenfeldt: I came to The Studio with a good understanding of the guitar and music theory. Having taken guitar lessons as a kid I knew the notes and chord structure but I wanted to know how to play solo and improv to the blues. I had try to figure it out on my own but never could get it. Within a few short weeks Clint and I were jamming out and I had finally understood how to play up and down the neck. I wish I’d had Clint as my instructor 40 years ago! Clint and Julie are great teachers with a love for teaching but most of all they are great people. Highly recommend The Studio!
Grace Ndem: Clint and Julie Harrison are some of the warmest and most talented musical instructors you will ever find! With the patience, knowledge and passion they both have for music I knew I was in good hands! I play guitar and sing and I’m so happy I found The Studio! It’s challenged me to excel and I’m so grateful!
Jamie S: Absolutely wonderful! Clint and Julie are both amazing teachers! My children have loved learning the guitar and piano at the studio. We have had other teachers and there is no comparison. Kind, knowledgable, totally awesome! So glad we found them!
Music by Bob Davidson: If you are looking for the best in guitar and piano instruction look no further... Clint and his wonderful wife Julie will work with you at any level...If you just want to play by ear or interested in reading music fluently while at the same time understanding musical theory. My son Hunter and I couldn’t be happier!
Kim Raymond: The Studio has instructed our son in all aspects of guitar. He has learned to read music, play by ear, theory, and to improv! It is so good to receive clean, technical training and still have fun while learning. Above all, he has continued to develop and grow in His love for music!

Children's Music Academy: what do users think?
Trish V: We Love CMA! It was such a great decision putting our daughter in this program. She has learned so much! Children's Music Academy teaches kids how to read music, but also focuses on the Theory behind what she is learning. This will allow her to take what she has learned and apply it to many different musical instruments. They mainly play keyboard, but also percussion, recorders, guitar, and more! One of the most important things our daughter has benefited from in this program is Confidence. They routinely memorize and play solos for the class, which has built up her confidence in playing in front of her peers.Recently, her school took a field trip to the Springfield Art Museum. There was a piano there and she sat right down and played several songs (by memory) for her classmates...just because! She was so sure of herself thanks to the strong foundation this program builds. The teachers are top notch and I can't recommend Children's Music Academy enough!
Josh Lenz: I can not recommend Children's Music Academy highly enough!!If you have a kid in between the ages of 3-7, you MUST do it! If you have a kid in between the age of 7-9, you should do it.It is MIND blowing the musical, mental, life discipline, heart growth, and parent-kid bonding time rewards the classes bring. My favorite part about it musically is CMA is in the middle of everywhere when it comes to teaching music.Drums, vocal, wind instruments, guitar, and piano. Your child will have a taste of all instrument types and know which one they gravitate towards which is cool but the most powerful part of it is...Music has two sides.Classical- sheet music reading/theory stuffandCreative- ad lib, songwriting stuffCMA is correctly in the middle of these two very different musical worlds.Four of our Five kids are in and have gone through it, the last one will start in the fall.Having these two musical paths introduced and taught over a 4 year period has made it very clear which musical direction, after CMA, each kid needs to pursue that is most natural for them as their own individual.I sound like I'm selling you because I AM!! It is such a rewarding and incredibly foundational music program, I really do not think there could be a better one created. You will not regret it!
John Herbert: This is a great music program allowing us to introduce music to our son. The teachers are wonderful and the classroom interaction with other students adds to the fun!
Sallie Bailey: I have witnessed Children's Music Academy teachers carefully building children's music knowledge and skills. In the friendly and respectful atmosphere of the group classes children learn to play, sing, read, write and perform music. The concepts taught are college level. They have my admiration. I have recommended Children's Music Academy to others.
Amy Robert: CMA not only teaches a great musical foundation, but they make learning a fun experience for parent & child. My daughter started CMA at age 5 and went through the whole program, graduating. She is now 12 years old, and the teacher had such confidence in her musical ability, she was assigned the french horn. She continues to play piano and is even testing for the gifted program for music. All of this started with the strong foundation of music that she got at CMA. Thank you!
Gretchen Christian: We love CMA! More importantly, our children love CMA! It's such a fun environment for the children to learn in.
Roger Kirchner: A great atmosphere for learning music!I've been a professional musician for over 20 years & the staff is extremely knowledgeable. They do an outstanding job of keeping musical learning fun & engaging, while teaching proper piano technique, ear training & music theory. Both of my kiddos are CMA students & if you are looking for a place to start your child's musical training & learn music the right way, this is where you want them to attend!
Holly Pepe: My son started Children's Music Academy when he was 4 years old. He is 5 now and I am amazed by his musical abilities he has gained from CMA. He can recognize all notes on the piano keyboard and play melodies by ear. I would highly recommend CMA and Ms. Carlin is so patient and talented.
Grady Goodwyn: In February we will graduate our fourth child from Children's Music Academy. It has been a priceless time for them to learn foundational music skills, including both reading music and playing by ear. It's hard to find a music program that will teach both skills! The class is active and fast paced, which is perfect for wiggly little ones. We have loved our experience with CMA!
Donna Zauss: My four year old daughter loves CMA! She counts down the days until music day each week. In three months she has learned so much. She is even playing short songs on the piano using both hands. Ms. Carlin keeps thing exciting and entertaining for the kids while they learn. Learning notes, pitch, rhythm, and introduction to instruments are just a few things going on in class. Parent involvement is a bonus as it is quality time with your child plus you learn too. Kids love this program!
Lindsey King: After just a few weeks, my three children are hooked on music class and can't wait for their days to come around each week! My eight year old twin boys wish that class was "14 hours long" so they could keep learning! It has been a wonderful experience for all of us to share together!!
Debbie Johnson: Children's Music Academy has been the best investment we've made for our daughter. She has enjoyed learning everything from treble and bass clef notes to intervals, and all in a fun and nurturing environment. Performing in front of people is old-hat now because the class does it so much. And being a shy person, the confidence she has gained is huge. She will graduate from the Master's program next year, and we wish there were more levels! The quality of teaching, in addition to the method taught, has been invaluable for my daughter - - and I learned as well!
J&J Reed: I highly recommend CMA to anyone seeking a well-rounded music education. Who knew that you could make music theory fun and entertaining? Both of our children completed the 3.5 year program and were more than prepared to begin band at SLS in the 3rd grade.
Heather Zoromski: Children's Music Academy has been a huge blessing for my 5 year old son. He is extremely intelligent and CMA has continued to push him academically and foster independence. We will definitely be enrolling our other son when he is old enough.
Amy Mercer: Children's Music Academy provides young children with a rich and diverse music education. During the three year program children will receive a solid foundation in piano as well as exposure to guitar, recorder, and percussion instruments. Children also receive ear and voice training. This fantastic music overview allowed my boys to discover which instruments they were passionate about pursuing further and develop an appreciation for music in general. I also believe that the gentle and encouraging way the program guides children into performing has helped to build my kids' confidence and comfort speaking and performing in public.
Ashlei Woelk: I put both of my daughters in this wonderful program. They learned an amazing amount about music, but most importantly, they learned to love music. They advanced in piano and band and vocal music because of what CMA taught them. They learned to read music, hear pitch, match pitch, understand rhythm, and it gave them the confidence to create music. They have little fear of performance, even in solo situations. I even learned quite a bit as I sat through class with my children. It's all thanks to CMA!
Mary McMillen: Our experience with Children's Music Academy was fantastic. We are proud to say we have 5 CMA graduates in the family, with our three youngest also completing the Master's program! I knew the moment I visited the first class that this was far beyond the typical piano lessons. The teachers very patiently lead the class through a series of fun musical activities, specifically designed for the developmental stages of their age group. We really appreciated the parental involvement and participation in each class as well. All 5 of our CMA graduates have continued their musical training, adding stringed instruments to their piano skills. We love Children's Music Academy and would highly recommend it to anyone!
Kristen Gammon: My third child to attend Children's Music Academy had her Junior Program this evening. I am always so impressed with the teachers, children, and the learning that occurs. My oldest two graduated and also completed the Masters Class. What they learned is amazing. I will have two more children attend this program when they are old enough. I cannot recommend this enough.
Jennifer Agnew: We absolutely love Children's Music Academy. My son is in his third year and has learned so much about reading and writing music. I love that he has fun while learning and that I get to learn right along with him. It is a great atmosphere for learning and fun!
Melany Lane: Our daughter has grown tremendously these past 3 years through CMA's incredible music program, and her incredible music teacher, Mrs. Goodwyn! This music program is truly phenomenal.
greg kutter: Simply the best!

I am no stranger to piano lessons and these are top tier. I hadn't played in a few years, but she helped place me at the right level to start. We moved as quickly or as slowly as I learned my songs without forgetting the theory and principles behind them. She has been so accommodating with my schedule and with virtual lessons during the Springfield lockdown and after when I was out of town. I have taken a group lesson there in art and really enjoyed being able to try a new skill! I cannot recommend her and the Conservatory enough.
