Progress: what do users think?
Carissa Purdy: Consistently rude front end staff. First time we went it was oddly empty and both wait and host staff created an awkward and unwelcome atmosphere. Assuming one bad experience would be atypical, we tried again only to experience rude front end staff again. Not worth our time and the frustration. It is in poor taste to treat guests like they are nuisances.
Keith&Kelly Clark: We are so in awe. And so disappointed that Progress is closing the doors on June 30. Be sure to get there before then!!!! The fennel salad was this crazy delicious blend of fennel, orange and dried salty olives. The leeks were topped with a salty pepita mix that was out of this world. The steak melted in our mouths and the gnocchi bolognese was so flavorful! To be balanced I have to say that the gnocchis were not the fluffy little pillows I had in Italy. But the dish was still so yummy! Just cannot sat enough good things about this food. And our server, Grace, was so knowledgeable and attentive. The Cab Sauvignon and CA red blend were both delightful. Do it quick! Before it is only a legend.
Autumn Sharp: Exceptional food, service, and experience
L T: My family brought me to progress for Mothers Day. It was hopping, and we were glad we had reservations as they cut off any further customers at 12 due to the volume. We were very disappointed to find out that they were out of half the menu. Leaving only one app option and the main courses we wanted were also unavailable. That wasn't the biggest issue, however. During our meals , we were treated to the most ridiculously inappropriate and explicit playlist playing loudly for everyone to hear. Most families were there with their children. Young and old and got to listen to Doja Cats "kiss me more".Super cool listening to her sing about wanting to"F@#k" something with your kids. There were several songs like this. When brought attention to the fact that there were families with young children, the staff said they didn't control the music. It was apparent that more than a few people were like "WTH is playing".I think coupled with the lack of items available, this has to be considered a less than average experience.Vegetarian options: Avocado toast
Bree: I really like Progress and have always had a nice experience here. However, today we walked in for breakfast and were told there was no more seating for walk ins or Reservations due to it being Mothers Day weekend. This is fine and understandable. But the hostess was very rude when telling us this and I felt like she had a "sorry, not sorry" attitude. Very disappointed with this interaction. Even my 13 year old son picked up on the negative vibe we received.
Randy Henderson: Called a week in advance to get a reservation for Mothers Day brunch. Calls go to voicemail. So left a voicemail explaining what we wanted, and also emailed the supplied address.Having not heard Monday, I tried again. Tuesday I tried again. Wednesday I made a special trip to the restaurant, only to be told they were full. I told them of my attempts to contact them, their answer was "Not sure what happened. Sorry."Maybe its good food, but it sure is poorly organized.
Michael Jones: Hands down the best dining experience in Springfield, without question.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
TacoTuesday MeatLoaf: The atmosphere and drinks were amazing! And there "dinner burger" is outstanding!! However, their octopus was HORRIBLY fishy tasting and just not good at all. Don't get me wrong, I love octopus! But I ate it on the west coast! Don't expect sea food in the middle of the USA to be good, cuz it never will be lol
Anna Y: Loved it! ☆☆☆☆☆Food, atmosphere, and service are outstanding. Love that it is locally grown! Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ally: I ordered the taste of progress and being a foodie thought I would love it all. Sadly I only enjoyed the biscuits.. the salads were weird and I can't say any of it was good. The octopus was covered in a black sauce that was just gross. I would go back to try other things but so far what I tried was not worth the 130 dollars in any way.
Jacob Funke: Love this place for brunch! Spicy blood Mary is a must! As are the donut holes. My entree was the Brunchwrap Supreme that was truly outstanding. Great services as well.
Josh Garrett: Had the Taste of Progress tasting menu. After reading every dish's description, I thought, I'm not gonna love that. I was pleasantly surprised every time. Super creative and delicious throughout. Service was awesome. This place is now one of my favorites in Springfield.

Max Grimes: Had an absolutely stunning meal here for an anniversary. Our server Hope was very knowledgeable about the menu, knew exactly how to pair drinks with our food, and was incredibly pleasant the entire evening. We had the butternut squash per Hope’s recommendation and it was fantastic, you won’t find another dish like it you simply MUST go in to try it. The steak tartare was our other appetizer and it made the tartare I had from flame the other week look drab by comparison. Our mains (chicken and pork) were among the best either of us have had in recent memory, and they were paired excellently with a Spanish white wine (thanks again hope for the rec). All in all, one of my favorite meals I have ever had experienced, and certainly the best dining experience I have had in the SGF area. If you only have one night out in Springfield, make sure it’s at progress.Vegetarian options: They have an entire section of the menu dedicated to vegetables. Vegetarians will be in heaven.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps from the parking lot to the front entrance and a flat floor plan made the restaurant very wheelchair accessible.
dreamsava: Pure delicious art. The best cauliflower dish I’ve ever had. Food bliss ❤️🧚
Niki Driggers: The menu is seasonal so if you want to try something specific from the current menu go sooner rather than later. The food is absolutely amazing. I had a salad as an appetizer that was all new ingredients to me and I loved every part of it.If you like to explore foods Progress is definitely a place to go.Vegetarian options: They do have vegetarian options. Most are salads but they do have a Main that is also vegetarian.
G Fleck: Outstanding as usual. Hope knew all but one menu selection with great detail. She provided expert suggestions as we wanted to share and enjoy multiple items. Brought two out of town newbies here. All were absolutely delighted with the experience.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Thomas Hunt: Springfield's finest dining experience! Eat the carrots, then eat some other stuff! Everything is great!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Nicolas Wilson: Arrived and was greeted by friendly hosts. The restaurant had a decent ambience to it. Our server was nice and did a good job. Ordered the Naan appetizer, a couple drinks, and the prime dry-aged steak. The Naan was okay. The drink was really good. The steak me and my girlfriend ordered medium rare. The food took quite awhile to Arrive with a slightly odd and unique side of broccoli and a sauce pairing. Both of our steaks were cooked well done. We let the server know and she had it redone in the kitchen. Ended up waiting another 30 or so minutes. The steak was what I'd expect an average 25 dollar steak to taste like but this was over twice as much at 52 dollars. I don't dislike the people or the food, but the pricing is too high for what you get here. There are not many options to select from for entrees or starters. I spent 152 for me and my girlfriend before tip. There are simply much better options in Springfield to spend your money at that doesn't feel like an incomplete experience.
Bryan Haile (Ouroboros0): One of the better dining experiences I’ve had in Springfield.

Hemingway's: what do users think?
Jason Hale: I ordered the Bison-chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. There was very little gravy. There was none on the potatoes. And the green beans weren't cooked at best. I probably won't be back here sorry. Not a good first time experience.Food: 2/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Sharon Perkins: Springfield, MO. On the 2nd floor of Bass Pro Shop, this restaurant is a must-visit if you’re in Springfield. It’s a fun date, too. Our cousins sat at the bar for several Friday night dates and named the fish in the huge aquarium there. Today we had a family gathering for lunch at Hemingways and the child in our group enjoyed the restaurant as much as the grownups. It took me a few minutes to figure out what to eat because I was so enthralled by the decor. Everywhere I looked there was something fun to see. What we ordered tasted great! The prices were a tad high but you’re paying for the ambiance and the coolness factor.

Natalie Keeney: So disappointing. Food was just not worth the cost. We paid $35 for a piece of halibut that was no bigger than 3" x 2". Not worth the price for a small, dry piece of fish. The hamburger tasted like it was a frozen patty. Service was great and the atmosphere is neat...but oh the food, not something I would recommend.Food: 1/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More

Republic Ward Arkansas Bentonville Mission: We went drive thru on our visit, but holy moley there sushi is bomb! We got some Philly rolls, California rolls, and Alaska rolls. Alicia Blanks: It was kind of vanilla. The lack of seasoning was surprising. I was expecting amazing because the presentation was fantastic! But my taste buds said ehhhh. Perfectly cooked but underwhelming. Three for presentation!! It looked great for photos. And it was pricey, I left disappointed.

Alyssa A: My roommate and I went here for dinner the other night and enjoyed it! Initially I noticed that the lighting was a bit bright and for somewhere so expensive you’d think it would be dimmer. We were sat immediately and our server was incredible. We each ordered drinks, typical pricing but extremely great taste! I really admired their creativity. We ordered the sampler appetizer which was good but nothing really above average. I ordered the teriyaki chicken with sushi roll, the sushi was absolutely incredible, a must order again for me. My roommate got the blueberry salmon and was thoroughly impressed. Great spot for a fancy date night!
Kim Holmes: Made a reservation for our anniversary which was also mother's day. VERY very disappointed. They never told us about the buffet ONLY until we sat down. We were looking forward to eating light and sharing a sushi roll, but could not do that. We NEVER would otherwise eat sushi from a buffet... so we ended up eating random other things. The hot food was not hot and the things that should have been cold, were just cool. Except the cocktail shrimp... that was delicious. But for $50 per person...it was NOT worth it. They should have told me WHEN I made the reservation that it was a buffet only.Very irritated at myself also for not walking out when she told us.

Katherine B (Katerina001): Usually super satisfied with Ocean Zen - for dine in or takeout. But just ordered the Crazy Roll and to my disappointment, I’m thinking it was the avocado, it was hard :(Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Roll, Crab Wontons …More
Kenzi Francois: our server slammed our garlic on the table, after we had to ask twice for it. our prom night was ruined due to this experience. he was very rude and would answer our questions like we were stupid.
Jennifer Ehrhart: Service and food has went downhill since last time we went ,couldn't even eat our appetizers..told the server didn't care. We won't be back this was our second time bad food and Service there.
Phil C: Sometimes the tuna is slightly over cooked…happens.
Thomas Rainey: Rice came out mushy and watery. When I told the server he brought out more rice and it was mushy and watery as well. The manager came up and asked me if everything was okay and I explained to him that the rice was mushy and watery and they still didn't take it off my bill even though I didn't eat it.
S L: Have dined here a few times over many years and the food is always great. It is pricey. The service is decent. I do think the atmosphere lacks a bit for the price and presentation of the food. I can feel them trying to do a lot with the property (it’s huge), but the actual dining experience is lacking. It doesn’t feel as intimate, exclusive or as romantic as you might hope it to be for the price, presentation, and exquisite landscaping and overall property details. We tried to put our finger on it, and I think it has to do with the large open dining area. Perhaps it would benefit from some barriers? Smaller rooms and spaces? More dim lighting? More professional service (not so laid back?) Just some food for thought.Either way, the food keeps bringing us back. Delish!
Macy Luz: Just horrible food. The service was not bad. But it was really bad all the food was covered in sauce to the point where you wouldn’t want to eat it. For the price it was not worth it. Don’t not eat here. I never leave reviews but it was so bad it needed a review.
Travis Horinek: Best place in Southwest Missouri for great food and great atmosphere.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Roll, Macadamia Nut Crusted Chicken, Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi …More
