Max Deplorable: I used Mr. Courtney to write me a prenup. It turned out to offer little or no protection in the California court where my ex Mexican wife divorced me under a litany of lies. So little did I realize my wife turned out to lie on the declaration from soup to nuts.Had my ex not lied the prenup would have been fine. But a prenup should protect you from your spouses lies shouldn't it? I'm not an attorney this is just my opinion. By the way this was some years ago. But I felt it was right to let people know that 8 or so years ago Mr. Courtney didn't write iron clad prenups at least as far as California divorces go. This might have prooved iron clad in Missouri. IF YOU GET A PRENUP IN MISSOURI DO NOT MOVE TO CALIFORNIA IF YOUR MARRIAGE IS SHAKY. Its a totally mutal property state! Missouri is not.

Gold Finger: DON’T DO IT!!!We paid $2000 retainer fee to Alexis Jordan for a child custody case. She then gave us some really bad advice. When trying to reach her by phone to tell her we strongly disagreed with what she had proposed she was either out or on the other line.Only after my persistent calls I was finally able to speak to someone. I left message with a paralegal pertaining to the case. She then assured me Alexis would be in the office the following day to take my call.I followed up the next morning and afternoon only to have the secretary rudely tell me the lawyer will get back to me when she’s available. That was more than I could take.I fired her on the spot. That’s when the secretary told me I couldn’t do that. The client had to call them directly. (WHAT A JOKE!)I reminded them that it’s my money. When the CLIENT called back to fire them again, the secretary said she was going to charge for all the phone calls we made to them.Alexis Jordan lacks experience and professionalism.The Law office of the Ozarks has poor and questionable businesses practices. Alexis didn’t following up with the client to reassure him that she indeed has a good game plan and was taking steps to defend the best interests of her clients.When the Client called to get a refund on the retainer the secretary said we would have to wait to the end of the month. Then hung up.Anything they write in response to this review will be a lie.No excuses! They did nothing for us but took our money.This can not be the exception folks!We are still waiting for our refund. Go somewhere else.You have been warned.I will be reporting on them soon.

Shelly gave no warning, no legal guidance or advice, just dropped the client right as the case is set to go to trial and simply said "you will need to find new counsel,. The client even apologized and requested her to reconsider her decision. Request was denied with no further explanation or guidance. Client has always made payments and kept in communication with Shelly's firm on any major information and always sought her legal guidance when an issue arose. I reconsidered using Shelly based off of witnessing this experience. I do not think it was handled professionally at all.
