Norman Witte: Even as they are closing up their stores with 70% discounts, they are still so extremely expensive.
Stephen Fullerton: Pricey meant to cater to upper middle class income folks who don't really mind paying g more for items you can get cheaper elsewhere. I am leaving this review, however, as the company is going out of business from bankruptcy.Maybe if they had brought their prices down a bit more reasonable sooner they would still be in business.

Allen Yoest: Self checkouts are trash and the staff are too. I rang up my transaction, paid with my debit card and after a few minutes the register errors out right before printing a receipt. The charge still hit my account and immediately posted. The posted transaction was shown to the staff member who watched me checkout, being a reasonable human being she understands. However her coworker states that I can't leave with the merchandise because it's still "pending" despite the fact that she had been shown a posted transaction and tells me that I need to go with her to pay for it again. I decided to just leave without the merchandise, I'm not paying for something twice because your awful self checkout crashed while trying to print a receipt.This isn't the first time I've had an issue with the self checkouts, but it will be the last time. Don't waste your time or money here. You'll only be disappointed.
Heather Leverich: Just dealt with a very rude and uncooperative manager who refused to help me with a return even though I had a receipt and the item was unopened. The manager said she could tell the item had definitely been opened even though I never had opened the package. The plastic wrapper was slightly moved around inside the package and she said that showed her that the package had definitely open even though that is exactly how the packaging looked from the moment I received the item and the exact same item is still for sale in the store in the exact same packaging. I would recommend just shopping online or going to a more friendly and cooperative store like Kohl's.
M. M.: You can spend half a day in this store :)The only reason why we did not give them 5 stars is because of some bait & switch going on. We bought an item on display with a price point on it. When we went to the checkout, the item was $10 more than marked. A manager? Came over and gave us a $10 discount ( to get the price advertised ) they made us become a member with our phone # and our email address. You call it what you want, but I still feel it's "bait and switch.""

Not knowing if it was the same manager but the review snapped a memory back into my thoughts of how I was rudely treated at that same store.I quit going to your store a few years ago. I wanted to purchase a small Halcyon pill box you had on display. I have never been accused of thievery of any type. The treatment I received that day from your manager, no one should be subjected to.The Halcyon Pill Box was in a locked case. I could see the price, I asked to see it and she, the manager, retrieved the pill box, herself, to let me inspect it. I said I would purchase it. When checking out, she, the manager, looked at the price, said it was marked wrong and would not honor the price shown. She could not have been more rude during the checkout after I questioned why she would not honor the marked price. She said, (and rudeness and dirty looks from her didn’t help), “because she didn’t have to”. That woman needed retraining then, and apparently, if it’s the same person, still could use some retraining. Why is she there? I certainly do not ever intend to venture back to your store to find out.I value my money, and to whom I like to spend it with. I had planned to take other purchases that day but happily left them on your checkout counter. I haven’t been back since.John Deere Wells

bella belle: Bare shelves! In these times I understand there being an inventory dip - but unfortunately this store's lack of inventory reminded me of a "going out of business" sale. They do have signs up all over the store saying their buyers are trying to restock their stores --- buuuttt I would say the shelves were at least 65% empty and they are even moving merchandise around trying to make it look fuller - ie: bath stuff where the aisle says food and no food (jams) in stock. I will try again when the store has been stocked.

di vo: This is positively the best place to get items for your home at discounted prices. They always have a great selection of brand items. The store is clean and they are constantly adding more items. Love Homegoods stores.

Angela Harrell: I purchased a game on December 14th. I found out it was a duplicate and attempted to return it (in perfect condition). I was told by the cashier it could not be returned without a receipt or price sticker. I checked the Home Goods policy online, which indicated I could return without receipt/sticker for store credit and called the Springfield store to confirm. I was told that without a receipt or sticker I could return it for in store credit, so I returned to the store the next day. I was told I could not return the item for in store credit - store policy. I have a credit card statement that shows purchases I've made at Home Goods this season. I've been a loyal customer, but I will not return to Home Goods (or sister stores) in the future, nor will I recommend. That's my policy.

Paige Norris: As with every other retail store, Homegoods used to be awesome. Great clearance section . And now? Clearance isn't clearance priced anymore. And half of their clearance items are broken or missing pieces and belong in the garbage. Everything else is completely overpriced and most can be found elsewhere way cheaper.

Brenda Kane: I recently bought two blue leather chairs from James Decor. I thought they were reasonably priced and the quality was good. The sales associate/interior designer Gave us a lot of feedback on the color and how it would blend in with our home. We were given plenty of time to make our decision, and we came into the store more than once to look at the chairs. They were delivered in a timely manner after a purchase and carefully placed where we wanted them. Wrapping was taken off in a careful manner and the designers placed them appropriately. I love shopping a James Decor. I feel inspired and love the decor that I often times cannot find at another local furniture stores.

Joel Green: Having a small den with an irregular shape in a new home, we sought the services of an interior designer and chose James Decor after hearing they were the best. Measurements were taken by designers and we chose one from two “to scale” design drawings they offered, purchasing furniture they recommended based upon their drawing. Did question length of sofa after a year of trying to design on our own, but were assured it would fit. Long story short, the furniture didn’t fit, custom sofa being 1-1/2 ft too long. The owner initially refused to allow us to return custom sofa (high end but very vanilla and easy to resell) even though we wanted to purchase the same sofa in a smaller size. After further conversation she agreed to a return and committed to coming by to look at room herself to ensure our replacement was proper size. No show. In addition and on her own, she cancelled our pillow fabric order that tied together the color scheme of chair (red accent piece), rug and sofa we’d purchased. We’d also purchased a set of side tables recommended by our designer from the floor sample they had which were black, but were to be ordered in brown. We received one at delivery as other was damaged in transit and they would reorder; however, one we received was not brown, but same black as what we’d seen in store, later finding a “Sold” tag inside drawer with designer’s initials. Questioned designer who confirmed the side table only came in black - we were never notified and would have cancelled order - only there was no order to cancel as we received the floor sample, at full price.The owner refused our returning the side table, even though it was not what we “ordered” and after assuring us it was returnable since it was not a custom item. Buyer beware, this has ruined us for looking to high end furniture stores offering design services and unfortunately has stained the reputation of those who are honest and stand by the services they offer.
K C: I didn't know what to expect but it is very high end, beautiful furniture and decor. You really would be surprised at the difference in comfort, etc but it is reflected in the price. The person who worked there was friendly and informative. It's not your every day furniture store but something a little more special.

The dining room chairs we ordered came in later than expected, and James Decor went the extra mile to bring them out on their delivery van so we could have a special family dinner using them. Will DEFINITELY be back here the next time we're looking for furniture and decor items.
