Launch Virtual Learning Center: what do users think?
Tiffany Hicks: If I could give zeros I would horrible communication Abby and Jessica in enrollment both VERY rude no compassion for a students education or parent with concern Jessica found humor in my worries and disconnect the call….and a male principle I wish I had his name just as horrible. Rather find better schooling where in person conversations can be had!
Stacy Popham: Great communication with parents. Helpful and responsive teachers. We had an issue with a transcript for college and launch handled it immediately even calling the college themselves to clear it up. Super impressed!
Regina Hampton: May be some teachers grade work more than the one math teacher we had for 8th grade math, but the one we had took forever to grade anything. And then all of the sudden I would get about 20 emails all in a row of this 8th grade math teacher that just decided to grade 20 some assignments all at once.....👎👎

lucas pucas: This place is a horrible place to do school at. For one, I turned in many high point assignments to my teacher, and they have not even graded them. I am almost at the point of emailing them just because they won't do their own job. It only takes around 10-20 minutes max to do maybe 1 assignment depending how long it is, and yet they don't do anything. Another thing that I realised about this school is that they give WAY more assignments than regular school. 3 weeks in a row I got 18-22 assignments, way more than regular school. And if that's not bad enough for this already, they except you to finish it in one day. And if you don't, you get a 0. Now while some people might say that "Well, they stay all day at home, and should be able to do the work." That is not all true. In regular school, you get 3-8 assignments per week in a class depending how hard the class is. But 21 assignments in a week with only little time to do it, and if you don't they might not even grade it? Now this part is my opinion, and this is not my experience, but my friend told me on multiple occasions that lets say a teacher assigns 6 assignments that week. And my friend does around 3. Sometime out of the blue, the teacher will have a 0 on the assignments waiting for you to do it like normally. But then when it's Friday they call them, putting 0's in everything, saying they haven't done any work this week even though he did work on Wednesday. And then proceeds to say that as I said, put anything that's not turned in a 0, which might be normal, but then says it like my friend hasn't done the assignments for weeks, and acts like it's the worst possible grade you could get that week. And I feel like that teacher has a specific disliking to my friend. But that's my experience and it might be different for other people doing this. Now another thing I have to say is that whenever I started launch, I had the worst grade I had ever had in my life. And this might not be the same as you're experience, but this is the assignment problem launch has, of which the teacher assigns way more than regular, of which caused horrible grades for me. Now this is going to be the end of my rant, but if you are going to do virtual with the option of launch, PLEASE do not pick launch, it was a horrible experience. This is my opinion, but in-school is better than virtual, but that's my opinion. But please DO NOT choose launch as your virtual school. Thank you for reading this.
Kerri Cox: Though I teach for Launch, I want to write this review as a parent. My son had a busy high school schedule, and he wanted to get some credits in on his own time. We were glad Launch provided that opportunity. He also could take advanced courses not offered by his district. There was a bit of a learning curve as he learned how to be an online student, but he did great once he figured it out. I was really glad he had that previous experience since his college classes have all been online this year.
Diamond Netzer: Positive:Communication,QualityLaunch has provided online learning to our students this year. They are a professional staff and attentive to district needs. The support team is quick to get any issues resolved.
Jennifer Stanfill: Positive:ProfessionalismI have worked closely with Launch to provide third-party online courses to students in our district. Their customer service is top notch! I appreciate the effort they put into serving their students, while also being open to feedback from partners that can improve their program.
Kristin Denbow: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityWe have partnered with Launch and have appreciated their professionalism, great communication, and support they have provided for our students. We are so grateful for their work!
Sean Reid: Positive:Professionalism,QualityGreat place to work. I've never worked for a place more passionate about kids. I also love that Launch is non profit, keeping the program focused on online education and genuine in its approach to virtual school.
tay: Launch is literally a joke. I have never felt so strongly about something, before. I understand the hours of work put into this program. I also understand that those who wrote the lessons need to wear a helmet. Assignments are thick for minimal points (currently, in World History Honors, I have to write a 200+ page NOVEL for an assignment). The program has overall mistakes that genuinely ruin the whole aspect of learning (Geometry Honors states that your answer needs to be rounded to two decimal points, but the answers they require are rounded to full numbers). They don’t teach, they snatch notes from Quizlet word for word. They hand you walls of text that are so thick and large, they could defend the capitol. You aren’t taught anything but how to get good at using Google. Teachers, bless their souls, are tossed into this without even knowing the extent of what they’re dealing with. Launch assigned teachers are braver than any US Marine.Launch existed before the pandemic. The pandemic is not an excuse for the genuinely awful quality of this program. If you put this program on a plate in front of me at dinner next to a plate of frozen horse vomit, I would let the poorly paid servers sing me happy birthday while I went to town on that horse vomit like I was a middle aged white mom going to Las Vegas. I wouldn’t even let Launch be the napkin I rested on my lap.Launch hasn’t taught me much at all. With Launch, you complete programs so that you can pass. There isn’t any learning. I feel like I’m paying taxes when I don’t have a job. This is beyond the difficulty any student should be doing. I was an Honors student with a 4.2 GPA. Now, I’m at a 2.8. I would genuinely rather risk going back to school and contracting Covid than stepping foot in Launch EVER again. If you’re someone working for a school district who is considering Launch, please don’t. You could bring in all of your drop out students, and they would teach better than Launch. You could literally give one of the theater kids two Flinstones gummies and they would have the entire district’s grades so high that the FBI would get suspicious of academic dishonesty.Thank you for your time.
V4MP: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Valuemy son is taking this launch program and it wasnt working for 2 weeks and they expect you to get the missing assignments done like what
salty: Hey, I am taking a class using Launch for 7th grade. We started late and by late I mean like 2 weeks late and they expect us to finish all of our missing assignments on top of our assignments that are just going to pile up so major thumbs down. Next, in my health class there was 2 of each assignment so I had to them twice. Horrible service. I don’t care if in person learning isn’t safe, I would rather die then go through this horrid service another semester.
YoureWrong: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueAnother 3rd party privatizing the public education system whilst also adding no value to the student's education. This should be something of endless potential but as usual it has been useless, time wasting, and burdening.
Sarah Duncan: Critical:Communication,Quality,ValueThis program is fine for elementary age students but fails middle school age children and basically just continuously gives them assignments with no guidance on how to complete them. The kids are basically just on their own with reading directions and hoping they figure it out without any help.
John Jenkins: Horrific!!! The home room teacher Melissa has made my kid feel like a burden and cry for 3 days now and they wont answer the phone wont address the issue they talk down to our kids treat them very poorly I mean what kind of teacher acts like this honestly? None not a real teacher anyway. The P.E teacher was fine and helpful for most part but her home room teacher melissa, well it's just not ok leave it at that.lf you want your kid to learn a thing I'd put them in school in person and use this "virtual learning" as little as possible it's sad man these are our kids they treat this way and just leave behind. My daughter hasn't been able to sign into over half her assignments all week hows she suppose to learn when they cant even get in the program and good luck trying to call they wont answer the phone for anyone.Cery poor communication very poor customer service very poor teaching ability Just very very poor
Will Reynolds: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI am a launch student who has been doing the program for the last 2 years. The program is nothing short of exceptional and is far better than a seated learning experience. The staff is responsive and is incredibly helpful. Definitely deserves the 5 stars!
Katelyn Rose: Critical:CommunicationHave called them several times in the past few days and still haven't gotten an answer. Why bother putting a number to your business if you arnt going to use it. People need some kind of communication when things arnt going as planned. I'd update the page with an actual form of communication.
