Nakato Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar: what do users think?
Jennifer Duggan: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Hibachi Steak and Chicken with Fried Rice, Sushi, SoupMore
Colby Wiskur: Chicken wasn’t cooked long enough and the waiter had to many tables to properly serve the table
Jennifer Hewitt: With the long lines of parties waiting to eat, I was hoping it would be amazing. The atmosphere is a little dated and simple. The sushi bar has a cool feature of the sushi boats floating in a moat around the chefs. Our chef at the hibachi table was great. Friendly and great cook. I just was a little underwhelmed with the quality of food. The service was great, and the food was okay.
Rosa Auterson: Food was excellent and Tim our chef was hilarious 😂. We will recommend to all our friends.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Jonathan Russom: Awesome experience!!
Aloha L. PostToastie: The chef was an amazing cook, but his humor was off-color while a young child was present. He took too many liberties with crude humor and cursing. It made the whole table uneasy... nervous laughter. Several subtle hints were offered to refrain from it, but he didn't pick up on them. But honestly, the food was delicious! Next time, I'll be gently vocal to tone it down if it starts in that direction. Hopefully, it won't. Still, I will return, for sure!
Karmen Nigh: Food is fantastic and the staff always friendly! Whether you sit at the hibachi tables or the sushi bar service is wonderful!
Taya Jones: Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 2/5Recommended dishes Hibachi SteakMore
Brook Watkins: It was our first time here and I really don't think we will be back. There was nothing fast about this dine in to be honest. The lady at the front asked us how many and we said we had a party of 2 but we were not asked if we wanted to sit at the sushi bar or at one of their group tables. Unfortunately for us we were 20min into our 45min estimated wait time before I overheard another couple mention they wanted to be seated at the sushi bar. I requested we be seated there as that's all we wanted in the first place and didn't understand there were TWO waiting lists and the sushi bar was a shorter wait.I got us moved to the other list but this also moved us back in line a bit because people who got there after us were eating before we ever saw our food.We were seated finally and the girl was really nice and personally came to get us for our spot. But we waited another 40min for food because it seemed there was a staffing issue at the sushi bar itself. The 3 men were working so hard and fast and they were visibly frustrated because plates were being sent back. The menu states sushi bar gets priority but maybe it changed, I'm not sure. The staff was very apologetic and the sushi chefs kept getting us updates on our food and said its coming soon. The food was good and the chefs are so talented it could have been amazing had they had the time to make the food quickly and decorate it because it's clear they are skilled. The kitchen needed at least 2 more sushi chefs. There was no drink menu so we endured this sober.Needless to say, I don't recommend showing up unless you have a reservation and the hours listed show open at 4 but I wonder if that means the actual tables and not the sushi bar because we would have arrived before 4 had we known this was the case. Probably won't be back. Atmosphere was just so chaotic and left feeling so overwhelmed. It's also a ice box in there. Bring a sweater if you are not sitting at a table becaaue the AC is on max to ensure it stays cool for the guests who are sitting next to the grills.
Catherine Killingsworth: Always great. Our waitress and chef was fun and efficient...purrfect

rakshya lamichhane: Really enjoyed the whole shenanigans. All the sides were really good. We enjoyed soup, salad, fried rice and noodles. We ordered traditional entree, chicken and salmon. I am giving 3 star because both chicken and salmon were very bland. We threw away more than half of it.Edit: changing from 3 star to 1. Wish we could give 0. Me and my husband both have food poisoning. Their food made us really sick. Never going back.
Johney Walker: Our "cook" / Chef, according to Tim cooks, works at Mc Donalds, Chef's work at Nakatos. Tim has prepared our feast on three separate occasions. Not only is he a wonderful Chef ,but he also keeps everyone interacting with him as well as one another. Angela Anglesey: The best place for sushi in Spfd! Prices are affordable, atmosphere is welcoming & well decorated, and service/staff is amazing!! Love spell & green dragon rolls are our go to. Miso is complimentary & the house salad is great too. I NEED the recipe for the dressing, yum.Kid-friendliness: There are plenty of tempura rolls that are fully cooked have shrimp.
Abbie: My Ichiban Chicken was chewy and hard. Not fresh. The service was bad. The waitress asked if we wanted wasabi & sauce and then instead of getting it she organized all her receipts. Basically the service just makes you feel like an inconvenience. It's been this way ever since this place was "revamped" years ago.Food: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More

Kent McCune: I've been dining at Sakura for over ten years now and it's my favorite restaurant of any type in town. Always clean and comfortable atmosphere and the servers are polite and friendly. Great food and reasonable prices for the current price of dining out everywhere. I have always loved Sakura and I still do! I love that the entire staff have always greeted each and every guest with a Japanese "hello" when they enter the restaurant! I couldn't imagine giving them less than 5 stars! I had to chuckle when I was dining here today and listening to a Olivia Rodriguez song 😊 What a wonderful and amazing world we live in!

Bill Hasha: Thanks for all the fantastic sushi and memories. You will be missed!
Michael Orfin: Great food and service.
F A: Bad service
alex bass: Friendly. Good service
Steven Derevencha: My wife and I's go to sushi place. Small, quiet, and romantic. The food is always top tier. Better than 90% of the hyped up sushi restaurants in town.
Rolan Logan: Great Bento box lunch! I highly recommend it!!!
Susan Fan: Great sushi at a reasonable price!
Jim Braatz: Enjoyed the sushi
Vicki: There's sushi and grill is always delicious. The beverage in the dark tall vessel is warm sakeParking: Parking is close to the front
Mary Morrison: Love their samurai roll and the new California roll.
Levi Jackson: We live close and decided to give them a try. We were very surprised how good the sushi was. We will definitely be back.
Lisa: I love this place. I got the chicken teriyaki bento plate. You definitely get what you pay for. It's my new favorite.
Ashlyn Hilt: My favorite sushi in town! I took my mom for her first time today and she agrees! Very budget friendly for what you get, great lunch specials.
Danielle G.: The reason for 4 stars: Only one waitress for every table in the whole place. It meant I ran out of water multiple times and had to wait a long time for my check. When you’re paying $$$ you’d like reliable service.Otherwise .. the sushi is delish! I’m not the raw slices of sushi kinda girl. I prefer regular rolls with toppings, spicy, and sometimes flash fried. I was on a spicy kick the night I went so we got the crunch roll, star jalapeño, panic, and the volcano. The crunch is okay, not really crunchy. The star jalapeño is delish! And the panic roll is by far the best spicy roll we had. The volcano comes on fire but got soggy with time and was not appetizing even after about 10 minutes. We got the combination bento for our daughters to share with a cali roll and shrimp tempura and they loved it! Lots of food and perfect for two kids or two light eaters! All in all the food was good, kind of high on price. But it’s an experience!
Chuck Shorter: Suggested to us, and we were not disappointed. Most Excellent
j bruening: Bento box is amazing!
Tom T.: Simple dining, an unassuming Japanese joint to eat. Wifey and I enjoyed the rolls and the service was EXCELLENT! the Volcano and Sea Monster were excellent. The panic roll she didn't care for but I enjoyed it and the star jalapeno was very tasty. We will return to try other rolls and especially the service!
Tom H: Best sushi in town!
Hydraulic Saint: Fantastic staff, fantastic food, a true delight and a wonderful place to eat! The seamonster roll was especially delicious!
John Stanton: At one time we didn't have a grocery bill, we had a Sushi Bill! Finding a really good Sushi Restaurant in Springfield, MO took some time. Found Mijuri after a friend's recommendation and have never looked back.

Bonnita Claus: Maybe unfair, I’m a foodie. My palate has brought out chefs from Coast to Coast to talk to me and give me cooking hints. The seafood salad, had surpassed its time. It was soft and mushy, the flavor was slightly off. I could not eat it.As for the sashimi, I’ve had much better, and sold them worse, but yes, I have been served worse. The softshell crab rolls required sauce to cover up the marginal flavor. I could not taste softshell crab, but I think I detected the tempura. It may have just been a bad day. It appears that many people do enjoy them and their food. Right now, 20/25 min after eating, My stomach is not setting easy. The rice was OK, considering what I’m comparing it to which is average. It is impossible to compare it to a 20-30 year Mester of sushi rice. There’s something magical to a two rice, in the hands of a master. At least the rice was not hard, nor was it totally mushy. The flavor was not distinct. The vast majority of people will be quite content, because of the opportunity to taste rice from a master. This I know because it took me over 45 years before I actually had this magical perfect sushi rice. Until then I did not know what I was missing.Note : I was classified as a super taster, until chemotherapy, despite still being considered a super taster. This is why I said my review may be misleading or unfair.

Mollie Lambert: As soon as you walk in to this place you just know the food is gonna be great. The atmosphere is very homely. The waiter we had was the nicest guy and always had a smile on his face. The food came out quick and tasted great. This restaurant will be a new favorite for my family. Great place.
Jessica Brunsman: Long time customer, frequently used to dine-in or would pick up food to-go after calling in a pickup order. However after tonight, not certain we will be back - which is pretty upsetting as this is my favorite place for sushi. We called in an order for pickup ahead of time, was told our wait time and then headed over around the given time. We ended up having to wait an ANOTHER 40 MINUTES, watching people who arrived and ordered after us get much more food than us (we ordered two sushi rolls). The son came out and said "my dad is crazy, your rolls are sitting right there ready to be made but he keeps making other orders and food". My husband used to work at the restaurant and after what the son said, we are sure that the owner decided that we would be fine waiting for our food - despite the fact that we are still paying customers! Extremely upsetting experience to be just disregarded and pushed off. Ended up having to ask for a refund to leave considering they hadn't even started on our order after over a HOUR.
Sherri Cheffey: I love going here they have so many good meals. I usually go through the drive thru I have went to just buy some sushi many times they have a pretty long list of different kinds of Sushi they are always great about making sure the wasabi sauce and Ginger is in the box plus soy sauce and chop Stix . If you get salad with your meal make sure to order the ginger dressing its my fave. They have habachi Beef, Chicken or Shrimp with Veggies, they serve it with rice and noodles. They also give you yum yum sauce to put on it that is one of my favorites too . Whatever you order im sure you wont be disappointed.

Madison Hunt: Always delicious, call in an order for pick up without saying my name and get called by my name. Regardless of if it’s because of my caller ID or if I just go so often, it was still nice and the staff are the friendliest around, same with Misaki 2. We are definitely regulars and this place is ALWAYS brought up when discussing dinner plans

George Reid: It's an old fast food restaurant converted into a dine-in restaurant. The food was amazing, but I have a slight peanut allergy, according to my allergist. The menu warns about the use of peanut oil.............don't risk it. My throat swelled up and got very raw.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More

Sondra Flanagan: We had a great time! Nice family oriented atmosphere. We ordered 2 entrees and a variety of rolls to share. We of course ordered way too much, but the prices were amazing which made it very affordable to try such a variety. I selected $10-20 but you could eat for less. Highly recommend!!!Vegetarian options: Has its own little section.

Arthur Chen: I went here to eat lunch around 1300. The interior of the restaurant is really nice and cozy. Staff are courteous and does a good job with service. I ordered the Ramen & Sushi combo. I've had the Karai Ramen with Spicy Tuna Roll and a Sake (Salmon) Nigiri. As with other reviews, there are a lot of bean sprouts in contrast to the ramen noodles. However, it is understandable as it is a combo that I ordered. In the end, I was stuffed and enjoyed every single bit of the meal. I also liked how they allow you to check out right there and then after you ask for the check. Overall, a good experience and I would recommend this establishment to anyone who wants a quick and cozy bite of Japanese ramen and/or sushi in the area.
Carmelita Talbert: We had the lunch combo (Ramen/Sushi) The meal was excellent, but it could of had more meat served in it, instead of one piece. Definitely, an overload of bean sprouts. It was half the normal size served for dinner. Served with spices rated between 1 to 3. Ordered the #2, definitely not those that cannot handle heat! Delicious broth. Lunch combo 13+ dollars.
