Elise: They forgot our entire food order. We asked for our check for the drink they brought us after seeing 3 tables that came in after us get their food. Instead of bringing out check, they tried to rush and make the food while we sat there another 5+ minutes. When we asked for our check a 2nd time, our waiter went to the kitchen and asked them to hurry and make our food. We ended up putting down cash on the table for the drink and walking out 60 minutes after being seated. Next time a customer asks for the check, don’t make them wait so you can make their entire food order and force them to take the rushed food after waiting 1 hour. Be professional and own up to the mistake, and just bring us our check for the services provided.

Jason Tonning: Really miss the buffet. Haven't really been back since they took away the option for buffet. Me, my wife and children were frequent visitors. Food was great and had reasonable pricing. I ordered food delivered now and then but that option was much more costly in the long run. Food had same great quality however. Great customer service and very friendly staff. Wish they'd bring back the buffet though. Was always full house, so I know it was popular.Edit: Excited about current response. Will definitely keep my eyes open for the buffet moving forward.

Minji Min: I recently visited the Taj Mahal Restaurant in Springfield, Missouri, and I must say, my mother and I were extremely disappointed with the service and quality of our meal, especially considering it was Mother's Day. To our utter dismay, the staff and owner served the two tables that arrived after us before attending to our needs. This lack of attention made us feel neglected, unimportant, and tarnishing the overall dining experience. Adding insult to injury, when our food finally arrived, it was disheartening to discover that it was burnt.In summary, our visit to the Taj Mahal Restaurant was a deeply upsetting experience. The neglectful service of the staff and the owner along with the presence of burnt food on such a special occasion left us thoroughly dissatisfied. We will not be coming back.

Rich Cornelius: I absolutely love this place!!! Best Indian cuisine in Springfield and friendly staff! Lamb vindaloo is my hands down favorite. It is NOT a lunch buffet item. It IS a very special dinner menu item. It is beyond wonderful! Vindaloo is by nature an incredibly SPICY dish. If you like to sweat and cry but be HAPPY all at the same time, seek no further. Also, above all else, DO NOT tell them Rich sent you. That will only entice Chef. Stick with the normal level of spice.

Jeremy Medley: I stopped in with my children whom have not had anything approaching authentic Indian cuisine before this visit. We had the butter chicken and the Taj Mahal special. The food was pretty good and I liked the spice level at medium although my children were put off by it. They definitely have an American palate and I am working on adjusting them to other ethnic cuisines and spice levels. We arrived at 8:05 approximately with the restaurant closing at 8:30. The staff immediately seemed to start pressing us and hurrying us along. The food arrived around 8:25 and not even 5 minutes later they were presenting me with the bill and asking if I could pay immediately. I was told that the restaurant was closing at 8:30 at least 4 times. I was rushed and hurried the entire meal which made the overall experience not enjoyable. I didn’t finish my meal and eventually dumped it in a box in order to leave. I fully understand that restaurant staff have lives and families and other events to get to but I also walked in before close and asked if it was ok to order. They took my order and served us so it would be nice to not be rushed the entire time. The kitchen should close at 8 in order to avoid this issue and allow customers time to finish their meal. I had not intention of staying until 9:30 but it would have been nice to eat my meal without the staff standing behind me and my children staring at us and rushing us with their eyes. At one point 3 staff members were watching us eat. We left the restaurant at 8:49. I am now at home watching Eureka on Amazon sitting at my coffee table finishing my Indian dinner and the atmosphere is much more relaxed although my dogs are now staring at me and my food…..

Tim Johnson: Ordered the catfish sandwich which was just a salty paper thin slab of catfish with a piece of stale cornbread. The peach cobbler was ice cold and had a super funny taste to it. And the soda was a 2$ can of root beer which they couldnt even be bothered to poor the drink in the cup. I got the cup and ice separate from the drink. There wasnt one good thing about this meal it went straight into the trash. Wasted 30$ on some remedial “soul food”.

It was amazing the food was delectable and the service was out of this world. Sadly the only thing that has stayed the same was the service! The food has seriously suffered, it lacks consistent quality! Depending on which night or day you come, the drinks may be weak or strong, and the food might be decent or bad. As I said the consistency is absolutely terrible. My honest opinion is that nothing on the fire menu is worth the cost. Stick to the spark and the flare, also don't order cocktails wine or beer is your best bet!Please train your cooks ( 10 years ago I would have said chefs ) better I have faith that you can turn your food around.

Ameto Galu: Took my wife on the date yesterday, our first time there and it was amazing. Made a reservation and we got there early and got seated right away. Cocktails were amazing, started with the fried calamari, the garlic sweet tai sauce that comes with it was very delicious. I had the ribeye very tasteful, my wife had I think the tequila chicken, very spicy but she loves it. Our server, I think her name was JoLana, she said everyone calls her Jo. She did an awesome job, very attentive and patient. We had a great time, highly recommended to anyone, definitely going back soon. Thanks for the experience.
Kristy Winter: We went there for dinner Saturday night. The hostess and our waitress were pleasant. I had the Tequila Lime Chicken Pasta and my significant other had the Flat Iron Steak. Both meals were barely luke warm. The "thin cut" chicken was tough and his potatoes were still crunchy. We told the waitress about the potatoes and the kitchen sent out a bowl of luke warm, plain, mashed potatoes. We won't be back.

Mike Burdette: The service was fantastic; we were a party of seven, and they made us feel special from the moment we walked in. Very accommodating, we had made a reservation, they had a table set out just for us! Our waitress was so nice, she made absolutely sure the order was right, and the food arrived in the right amount of time. But....hmm. The food was disappointing, and overpriced for what we got. Two of us got the Cubano, which looked pretty good, but neither ate the whole thing. I got the Ropa Veiga, which really wasn't worth $24. The rice and vegetables half of it was kind of ok, but the beef brisket part had no flavor at all...just a texture. I asked for some salt, kept putting on more and more, and finally all I tasted was the salt. There were a couple of other dishes ordered by others in our group, but overall we were rather disappointed in the quality and small portions of the food versus the price. It's too bad, we all love trying unique dishes, and a couple of the people in our party have had amazing Cuban food in other places. 3 stars because they tried so hard, but in the end, it's really about the food. So, my summary: Very, very good service, nice atmosphere, but overpriced and bland food. Won't be back.

Jamie Moore: Not related to the food, but my family and I were parked in the private parking out back waiting to go in to eat when one of the cooks came out to our car and rudely told us to move our car because the lot was private parking. We explained that we know and we're just waiting to go inside until our daughter woke up from her nap. He continues to motion to us move and that the lot was private parking. We love commercial street and the local businesses and respect the private lots, but the entire lot was pratically empty, so we were not taking the spot away from customers. But last night was horrible the sausage was raw in the middle, the bacon was dry and nasty, our server (an older gentlemen) was nowhere to be seen most of the time. Refills were not happening, the hamburgers were dry, I guess over all I was just extremely disappointed. Allan Holiday: Has a lot of parking but the store is not made for handicap due to the limited space for wheelchairs. The food there is overpriced for the quality. Most meals seemed to be cooked by microwave. The store part of the business has a lot of novelty items and candy and sodas. You can purchase the rocking chairs that are out front. A lot of homeless around the area so lock your car doors. Quality of food compares to the frozen dinners one may get at a grocery store. 3.50 for watered down sodas and about 16 a plate. Servers are very good. They kept my drink filled and was always there when needed. Very friendly staff also.

No jelly with the biscuits that we had to ask for multiple times and arrived after the meal. Disappearing waitress, had to ask another waitress for help.
