Shanghai Inn: what do users think?
Frank Zaragoza: I have used the driv-thru & have ate inside here and have never found another place that even comes close to the food they make. This is the only place that I'd ever give a 5star rating..Kid-friendliness: Very friendly to everyone..Parking: Plenty of parking if you are eating inside and it's not hard to get out of the lot.
Rakel Rose: Great food, excellent customer service!I would love to see more traditional Chinese food on the menu, but I know other people aren't as open to trying it. Everything we had was fantastic though!Sesame chicken had the best fried chicken I've had with Chinese food. Crab Rangoon was amazing, but I wish there was crab in it! Had it the next day though and the wonton was still crispy and delicious. Chicken & Shrimp combo fried rice was one of the best fried rice dishes I've ever had! And the Beef and Broccoli was phenomenal.I can't wait to try it again.Parking: Drive-thru available

Paj Moua: We chose to eat here when my boyfriend and I stayed in Springfield, since we were traveling through the states and this place was not good. I’m from Wisconsin so I trusted google reviews and was super excited only to be disappointed. We got shrimp lo mein, orange chicken with veggies and it came with rice, egg roll and crab rangoon on the side. I liked the lo mein noodles but the shrimp tasted old and gross. It didn’t look right either. The egg roll did not taste fresh at all either. It felt like they left it sitting out and served it just like that. The only good part was the orange chicken w/ veggies and the staff was friendly. I love Chinese food and I really wanted to give this place a chance, but the quality was not giving. Save your money if you’re coming from another town or state!

Alex Spalding: Favorite Dishes: Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour ChickenGetting away from the Cashew Chicken, this was my personal favorite Chinese food place in town and I remember how I felt when I discovered it. It's a small place, I didn't have high expectations, and there was a deal on the Orange Chicken at the time, so I ordered it. My mind was blown. I have never since had orange chicken like theirs, and it is something I often crave. They have other great dishes here, too, but try the orange chicken and you will fall in love. It is not a glaze, but a dark and rich spiced citrus sauce, featuring chilis and aromatics. It was so good. There were times I'd feel like I was in the mood for Cashew Chicken, but felt somewhat undecided, and then I'd remember the Orange Chicken and have to go here instead. I've walked here, back when I lived on the North side, and driven across town to eat here when I didn't. It's such a hidden treasure, and never as busy as it should be.

Robodie - the Kung Fu Ninja Robot: Very pleasantly surprised by this little place I've driven by for years but finally visited last week.First of all, they've got the best flippin' potstickers on Earth! The reviews raving about the egg rolls were spot-on. If you're a "has to be a specific kind of egg roll" person (I am), you'll probably love them.Everything was hot and fresh and the owner (I think) was super nice even though I rolled up at 20 minutes til close. Portions were generous, everything was delicious, even the leftovers were great.

Erin: I am soooo sad to have to change my review from 5 stars. But you never know what you are going to get anymore. We get good egg rolls then ones with rotten cabbage. Good chicken then stringy weird pieces. This was always our go to till lately. I don’t know where to go now 😭😭😭😭
Chelsea: Best cashew chicken in town 😎🤘🏼
Kristin Michel: The food was awful! It's like all the chicken is just coated in a different sauce. The Lo Mein was bland and tasteless. The egg rolls were decent. It's not a place we will be back to.Food: 1/5|Service: 4/5 …More
S B: A much more honest description of "cashew chicken" would be fried chicken lumps in too sweet sauce. There were no cashews or vegetables and the rice was sad sad sad. I wasn't expecting much, but this was terrible.
K. G.: I have visited Canton Inn every week for years! at an average ticket of approx $25+/- that is $1,300 a year $20,000 in sales for 20 years if I cont to go here. That adds up. What does not add up is after eating food from here on 3-10-23 (Wed) I have been pretty much living in my bathroom. A few days I never even slept. I looked at your health dept inpection from 3-6-23 and seen this:"CANTON INN - CITY205 W SUNSHINE ST SPRINGFIELD Map it3/6/2023 5:15:00 PM Routine Inspection; Result: ActivePriority Violations Found: 4"Priority Violatiotions "4" is four to many. Alex Spalding: Favorite Dish: Cashew ChickenCanton Inn is the place I remember most for being voted best Cashew Chicken in town on a consistent basis. I wouldn't say it's THE best, but it's up there, top 3 for sure. It's a great option if you're trying this local classic and want have the gold-standard experience. The cashew sauce has excellent flavor, hewing close to Leong's original recipe I believe. Canton Inn or Leong's both tend to be the places you take someone who's new to the area to try Cashew Chicken for the first time -- in fact, it's Canton Inn most often due to it's convenient location close to another local must-have experience, Bass Pro Shop. It tends to be busy as a result.
Jeffrey (turtlesavingclub): Decent Chinese, cute location. I'll surely try some more things on the menu. I'm only giving it a 4 because what I had (extra spicy sesame chicken) was just ok. I'm guessing their specialty is something different on the menu. I'll adjust accordingly in the future if it matters to anyone... 😅Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Christopher Clark: Really exceptional Chinese food in Springfield. Lots of flavors come through in each dish. Service is prompt. Great option if looking for more authentic Chinese food in Springfield. Not great if you’re looking for cashew chicken or other more Americanized dishes.

Steve Sanders: This hole-in-the-wall restaurant has THE BEST Chinese food I have EVER had. Mind blowing. It's a family operation, multi-generational, and you can tell they care. The first time I stopped in, I asked for an order of eggrolls. The owner's son, mid 20s, Chinese American, looked at me with disdain. “We only serve authentic Chinese food here.“THAT IS A GOOD THING. You will not be disappointed. I went back just two weeks later, this time with my family.
Jen Deall: Holy Cow!! Chinese foodie to the max and this place hits (most) every point. Authentic is an understatement. Every plate has its own unique flavors. Don't go expecting ambience or high end service. Truly a MUST GO for food. I altered a weekly business trip to a different day since they are closed on Mondays. Worth it.Food: 5/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More
Michael Gaudio: Got the pork belly with rice noodle and the cilantro lamb. Both were amazing. Huge portions great service. Felt like being in China.
Dalton Altizer: MIND BLOWING FOOD! the sweet and sour pork is the single best Asian dish I've ever had. The chicken is so good, it makes other chicken look bad. Tony Chien: I was looking for a good Chinese restaurant while I was in Springfield for a weekend. I decided to give this restaurant a try due to a high Google rating. The restaurant was small. It had simple decor and austere furniture. It was packed with customers when we arrived. We did have to wait a little bit for our food. Fortunately, the food presentation was excellent, and the portion was plentiful. The food was delicious and tasteful. It had a menu of authentic Chinese food. The price was reasonable. I would recommend anyone to come either early or late to avoid crowds during lunch and dinner time due to a limited seating capacity.

Mo Hardy: Hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had. The braised pork belly is outstanding! SO full of flavour and luxuriously tender. Everything was fantastic and I cannot wait to go back. Caitlin: This is still one of my absolute favorite places to eat in springfield. I moved away last year and come back every couple months to visit family, every time I come back I have to go to Corner 21.The egg tofu on sizzling plate is delicious and stays hot the whole meal, it's possibly my favorite restaurant dish in all of springfield.
Linkhey LC: This small, unassuming building will fool you. A little white box on a corner but it is definitely a spot you will keep coming back to. Try something new each time, there is nothing bad here

Ehren McBane: Went through the drive thru at about 5 till 8pm. They asked us if we could wait for fresh chicken. Not really much of a choice there. We agreed, assuming it would be a short wait.. or even an average wait. We ended up waiting 45 mins + for food. It ended up that we had to wait on almost all the food to be made? I finally went inside, trying to figure out what was going on bc after 45 min we still didn't have our food, & that's when I saw that basically nothing of ours was made yet. On top of that, they pre-made all 3 of our to-go boxes with the few food items we didn't have to wait on, so those sat there for forever while we waited on all the rest to get done, so those few items were extremely cold and soggy. Lastly, when we got home & the 2 of us tried to eat our Rangoon, it was like powdery & dry & it didn't even taste like Rangoon.. It was weird. It was a terrible experience. Especially for what we ended up paying for all of it. Yuck!
Trent Condellone: Dry rice, bland crab Rangoon, bland orange chicken. Mushroom chicken bland. Beef was not the worst. Why anybody would eat here when there are so many other choices literally even across the street I have no idea. It's not even a bargain price other places are less expensive and you get more food. I wouldn't come back if they offered to sell this to me for $2. I can cook better Chinese myself and that's pretty bad.
John Ray: Terribly slow service and quite rude people. Came here out of convenience because close to work, won’t make that 45 drive through mistake againFood: 2/5|Service: 1/5 …More

Marveldude 345: They have a hard time setting up for lunch. I went to the drive thru no one responded. I went inside and was told to wait and could not wait any longer cause I am on a 30 min lunch and left with nothing. Was not impressed they looked like they were not set up for lunch rush. My recommendation be prepared for lunch rush for those have limited time for lunch break.

Caleigh Knight: I do love Chinese food, but Panda Express has always been lacking for me. It's good, but the only actual chicken it has is Orange Chicken. I tend to hate oranges, but I'll still eat that as it's the closest thing to Generals Tso's they have. Plus, I do enjoy chow mein. The difference with this panda express is that the chicken didn't have an overzealous orange taste to it. Which I adore! Some may hate that, but I found it refreshing and so good! The only real problem I have is that they don't serve Pepsi, and I enjoy Pepsi with Chinese food. But water still works. I also find their egg rolls taste funny, yet that's a personal preference. The people were nice too. I think the employees felt normal and still were good at their job. I appreciate that. I love those circular booths. They're very extra but also very fun to sit in. So I still give this place 5 stars. Mostly because it was the best tasting orange chicken and such fresh steamed rice I've ever had at a Panda Express. I just really hope one day they switch away from Coke.Parking: Lots of spots and they aren't tiny so your car can fit in them easily
Jayme Henry: I love Panda Express! I have Stage 4B cervical cancer which makes me have absolutely no appetite. I was having a really hard day. And was $2 short having enough to cover my food. the lady that was taking my order was soo extremely helpful & I think she could tell I was having a hard day because instead of having me go search for change, she helped me with the $2. It may have only been $2...but it's the fact she knew I was struggling & helped me, a complete stranger so me & my 1 1/2 year old daughter could have lunch. I wish I would have gotten her name cause she was a pure GodSend
Ben And Heather Myers: Unfortunately this location happens to be closer to my house then the one on South glenstone and Independence but that location is like night and day compared to this one the people at this location or not very friendly and they seem like they are not happy with their jobs the food is almost always having massive gaps which I don't necessarily mine because I like to have my food fresh but this location needs to take lessons from the one on South glenstone
