Michael Romero: The rifle and pistol range is very well kept and the range safety is excellent , well worth the 4 dollar cost. The booths have shooting rests and benches for optic sighting , the lanes have movable target stands and the paper targets are provided.The staff are courteous and professional , making for an enjoyable day at the range.Update : April 5 2022 the range has a new sign in process that requires either a fishing or hunting permit or a Missouri conservation ID card OR a manual write in via one of several touch screen kiosks.Additionally , the range now has spotter scopes at every booth ( attached via steel cables ) AND free safety glasses as well as earplugs. Still the best four dollar deal for shooting , especially since the open range at Pleasant Hope is closed indefinitely.Update : 5/10/22 the rifle and pistol range are closed , the staff informed us that Jefferson City wants to make recommendations but they haven't yet ,so no reopening date is set.The shotgun / skeet portion is open.Update 5/23/23 the rebuilt range is now open with the recommended improvements in place and it is still the best bargain for a range at four bucks an hour , with strict safety measures in place .

jon goodman: There have been a lot of good rabbit hunting spots destroyed in order to make hay fields. And there seem to be fewer doves because there is less land for seed crops.
Laurie Lundberg: This place is not marked at all. It is supposed to have two trails, a long trail and a short trail and I could not find either one. Rick Hart: Nice place to rent a trailer by the night for $100 a night .there is enough room in them for four people and split the cost
Sherry C: Very nice area. Riding and hiking trails. Unfortunately it is now dangerous because people are using the conservation area shooting range to fire semiautomatic weapons! We used to see horse riders all the time on our road but the guns have run them off. It's supposed to be a nature preserve not a semiautomatic target practice range. BewareUpdate to five stars. Shooting range closed.Praying it stays that way.

Mark Smith: I came from Ozark to sight in my rifle. Checked web sight and said it was open. After driving over 40 miles I found out the range was closed for inspection. If your range is closed please notify people it’s closed. Very unprofessional!
