Elise: They forgot our entire food order. We asked for our check for the drink they brought us after seeing 3 tables that came in after us get their food. Instead of bringing out check, they tried to rush and make the food while we sat there another 5+ minutes. When we asked for our check a 2nd time, our waiter went to the kitchen and asked them to hurry and make our food. We ended up putting down cash on the table for the drink and walking out 60 minutes after being seated. Next time a customer asks for the check, don’t make them wait so you can make their entire food order and force them to take the rushed food after waiting 1 hour. Be professional and own up to the mistake, and just bring us our check for the services provided.

Jason Tonning: Really miss the buffet. Haven't really been back since they took away the option for buffet. Me, my wife and children were frequent visitors. Food was great and had reasonable pricing. I ordered food delivered now and then but that option was much more costly in the long run. Food had same great quality however. Great customer service and very friendly staff. Wish they'd bring back the buffet though. Was always full house, so I know it was popular.Edit: Excited about current response. Will definitely keep my eyes open for the buffet moving forward.

Minji Min: I recently visited the Taj Mahal Restaurant in Springfield, Missouri, and I must say, my mother and I were extremely disappointed with the service and quality of our meal, especially considering it was Mother's Day. To our utter dismay, the staff and owner served the two tables that arrived after us before attending to our needs. This lack of attention made us feel neglected, unimportant, and tarnishing the overall dining experience. Adding insult to injury, when our food finally arrived, it was disheartening to discover that it was burnt.In summary, our visit to the Taj Mahal Restaurant was a deeply upsetting experience. The neglectful service of the staff and the owner along with the presence of burnt food on such a special occasion left us thoroughly dissatisfied. We will not be coming back.

Rich Cornelius: I absolutely love this place!!! Best Indian cuisine in Springfield and friendly staff! Lamb vindaloo is my hands down favorite. It is NOT a lunch buffet item. It IS a very special dinner menu item. It is beyond wonderful! Vindaloo is by nature an incredibly SPICY dish. If you like to sweat and cry but be HAPPY all at the same time, seek no further. Also, above all else, DO NOT tell them Rich sent you. That will only entice Chef. Stick with the normal level of spice.

Jeremy Medley: I stopped in with my children whom have not had anything approaching authentic Indian cuisine before this visit. We had the butter chicken and the Taj Mahal special. The food was pretty good and I liked the spice level at medium although my children were put off by it. They definitely have an American palate and I am working on adjusting them to other ethnic cuisines and spice levels. We arrived at 8:05 approximately with the restaurant closing at 8:30. The staff immediately seemed to start pressing us and hurrying us along. The food arrived around 8:25 and not even 5 minutes later they were presenting me with the bill and asking if I could pay immediately. I was told that the restaurant was closing at 8:30 at least 4 times. I was rushed and hurried the entire meal which made the overall experience not enjoyable. I didn’t finish my meal and eventually dumped it in a box in order to leave. I fully understand that restaurant staff have lives and families and other events to get to but I also walked in before close and asked if it was ok to order. They took my order and served us so it would be nice to not be rushed the entire time. The kitchen should close at 8 in order to avoid this issue and allow customers time to finish their meal. I had not intention of staying until 9:30 but it would have been nice to eat my meal without the staff standing behind me and my children staring at us and rushing us with their eyes. At one point 3 staff members were watching us eat. We left the restaurant at 8:49. I am now at home watching Eureka on Amazon sitting at my coffee table finishing my Indian dinner and the atmosphere is much more relaxed although my dogs are now staring at me and my food…..

Paige Lee: We used to go here all the time, but after our last visit, I don’t think we will be back.I ordered one of the most expensive items on the menu that was like a sampler. Nothing was said to me when I ordered it. When the food came out, it was missing 2 of the 5 items. When I asked about it they told me there were out of the other two items. I asked if the price would be adjusted and was told I just received extra of the 3 things I got, even though I didn’t. When I pulled up the menu because they wouldn’t bring one so I could show them, the manager was very hateful and said in a nasty tone “well what do you want me to do about it?” At this point I have been trying to talk to them about it for 20 minutes and my food was completely cold. The manager spent the entire time trying to gaslight me when I had the menu pulled up on my phone.By the time we got it resolved so that I wasn’t paying for food I didn’t get, everyone else was done eating, so I left my own birthday dinner without even eating.This was far from the only problem we experienced. Our waiter just kept disappearing and not getting drinks or bringing out our food when it was ready so all 6 meals we got were cold and they completely disregarded what we told them when we notified them that someone had an allergy so they had an allergic reaction. We had eaten here many times and never had a problem with accommodating this particular allergy.Vegetarian options: It is apparently not a big deal if meat products end up in a vegan dish, that is listed as vegan and they will still charge for a dish that can’t be eaten.Dietary restrictions: Disregarded allergies they were told about multiple times in person and on the reservation.

Sara Slayton: My sister and I tried to go there a few days ago for her birthday dinner. We were one of three groups in the restaurant and they sat us at the only table sitting directly in the sun. There were tables on either side of us, so we got up and moved to the table that was right next to ours. The server was right behind us, and we mentioned that the sun was in our eyes, and he seemed fine with us moving. He gave us waters and said the server would be right with us.We sat for close to 30 minutes with no service. Servers kept passing us, making eye contact, and continuing to walk by. I completely understand that we should have asked to move before doing so. However, to be refused service because of something so miniscule is despicable.

Kelly: Can't complain about the taste, but I most certainly can about the portions and prices. Went with a friend, and the K-C burger was decent with an average price. The Rangoon stuffer was pretty good, but I was very disappointed with the size of it. It tasted like a chicken cordon bleu, but about twice as expensive as it should've been. We tried dessert getting the Salted Caramel Gooey Butter Cake and the Vanilla Bean Cheese cake. Both of them were smaller than we were hoping for, but once again they were pretty good. 4/5 stars because I'm just a cheepo and dislike the portion for price.

Food was ready, paid with cash, and it took longer to get change than it did to cook my food. Tried again tonight, this time for dine in. Was seated at a high top table by the bar. Waited ten minutes and nobody even asked for my drink order. So sad that this place is going downhill so fast.

Note its difficult to go there for an hour lunch break and get out of there on time, service in the kitchen is a bit slow. Aside from the slow kitchen, I recommend this place when you have time to experience it.

Nikki Sullins: I didn't get to eat most of my meal but the fries were good. The waitress was told I had a dairy allergy, I saw her write it down, about all I could order was a steak and I asked for it well done no pink. The steak came out medium and with butter on top. Unfortunately, I didn't not have time to wait for another steak because they had already taken 45 minutes or so to get the food out to us, so I ate fries. The bathroom was gross as well as the baby changing table. I watched an employee wipe the table next to us off and just brush all the food off on to the floor. For as expensive as the food was I would just have expected a better overall experience.Dietary restrictions: They were not overly concerned with these apparently. Not very many dairy free options.

kaylin mcglothlin: Please tell me why I paid $7 for one single piece of chicken. Tasty but I couldn’t believe the prices. I called and asked for a side Caesar salad, which is $4.95 and then asked if I could add a piece of chicken not knowing it was going to make my total bill $14+. It’s good but not worth the price.

Brian Burch: Great dining experience. The food, drinks, and service was very good. I had the pesto salmon and ceaser salad with an old fashioned. I would definitely go back again!
