Renee' Cook: I could not believe that there was a fencing school here in Springfield, MO. I signed up right away and it hasn't ever been a mistake to do so. Adam Bedinghause is a wonderful instructor. I'm an older woman in my late forties who at first thought I might be getting to old to learn such a sport, but Adam is great at working with any age. He treats me with respect and doesn't except less from me just because I'm an "older woman". You can truly tell that he loves fencing and has great respect for it's history. This sport is not about bouting and winning. It's about respect for yourself, your team and learning self discipline in a way that I personal find beneficial. I highly recommend signing up. Especially for those who are of the mature group that has always wanted to learn. Don't be afraid and just do it.
Wintlock: I have spent just over a full year as part of the Hillcrest fencing club, fully taught and operated by Mr.Bedinhaus. throughout my experience I can say I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. From the first lesson you'll start weapon in hand learning the basics of fencing with no time wasted. That isn't to say that Mr.Bedinghaus doesn't know what he's teaching either, just talking to him you can tell he knows what he's setting out to teach.
