Valley Water Mill Park Equestrian Center: what do users think?
Matt Gravat: Daughter takes lessons.
Julia Amundsen: Fun horse show!
Amanda McGeough: My daughter took the beginners camp, and she really enjoyed it. This is a great activity for the kids.
Karen Wright: My granddaughter rented rhe room for a child's birthday then the kids were able to ride and pet the horses. The room was large and clean. The price was good. I would highly recommend this place.
Christopher M. Bingham: Fantastic location for the kids a great break from the normal park experience. Highly recommend.
Steven J. Kasperski: So much fun. The kids had a blast. The staff was super nice, and explained horses wonderfully to the kids. It was a great experience for the kiddos, and an awesome idea for their party
Cindy Brown: Love the My Little Pony lessons!
Brandi Elmore: I love this stable. I have been taking lessons since October and have since gotten a job working here. Amazing staff that is very knowledgeable and a great herd that loves to teach.
Nita Sprowson: Great place for beginners and experienced riders alike! The staff is patient and friendly! They did a great job with my daughter, teaching her all about the pony! She had so much fun!
Pamela Del Vecchio: Valley Water Mill Park Equestrian Center is an excellent place. The instructors are very knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging. They make learning fun. The facility is clean, and the animals are very well cared for. I highly recommend this facility if you want to take lessons, learn horsemanship, or just want to visit in a controlled environment.
Christina Ward: Quiet beautiful. I'm going there for 35 years.
Mary Oney: We are so happy with the program at Valley Water Mill! Their prices are very reasonable and I really appreciate that they make equestrian sports accessible to more people. They are so patient with my daughter as she learns and I love that they also teach her to care for the horses. Not only do they really know their stuff, they also know how to teach it to kiddos!
Sarah Maze: Wonderful place to take riding lessons!!! Great with kids, they explain and hold the to the expectations. Amazing price for the lessons compared to area. Like a hidden treasure in Springfield, Mo
911eVoX: Excellent setting for our barn hunt trials with Ozark Mischief. The bathrooms are very close. WiFi is unavailable; LTE connection is poor in most cases (using t mobile)
Hemifan 2010: Beautiful, classy place for entire family. Grounds & animals highly respected and cared for.
Fawn Warner-Rechkemmer: This is a great place to take horseback riding lessons or attend summer camp. Both of my children have spent time here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Most of the horses are "rescue" horses that are gentle and love all the attention they get from the kiddos. Instructors have been great about finding the balance between providing a fun experience and making sure kids are learning and being safe. Pricing compared to a private stable is fantastic!!
Chris N Bekka Williams: Very friendly and high quality
Joey Mayes: Good, patient instructors. $35/hr for a private lesson. $25/hr with a group. My daughter greatly enjoyed it and I enjoyed watching her develop self-confidence and become more decisive, responsible, and assertive.
Mikki Ariat: My mom sold them a horse and he ended up in a kill pen 😭They told her they weren’t going to sell him and he would have a good home. He was a super nice well bred Arabian. Luckily somebody bought him out the kill pen and has been doing excellent in the show ring with a little girl.
larry von holten: Great place for learning how to ride and care for horses, they have facilities for birthday party also
mindy casteel: Beautiful

Libby Ferguson Training Center LLC: what do users think?
Brooke Forrest: My daughter has been taking lessons here for over a year now. The instructors all teach the kids with positivity but also challenge them to be their best. As an equestrian myself, I know the impact a riding instructor can make in building one’s confidence…and they exceed my expectations. Your child will learn every part of horsemanship, from getting the horse ready, to communicating with your horse while riding. It’s so much more than just riding! They also treat their horses with exceptional care!
hilda smith: Unsafe! The owner was not happy when we arrived as she had another older rider there. It was only our second visit. She placed my young daughter on a horse and let her ride alone in the arena while the older rider’s horse galloped next to my daughter and her horse. She did not walk alongside her like the first instructor did. Never went back to this place.
Tim Mahoney: I read that negative review on here and although I am not sure where that opinion comes from it sure doesn't sound like the same Libby Ferguson Training Center that my daughter has been taking lessons at for 2 1/2 years. That place is made for kids! The place offers the best instruction for English riders in this region and Libby has a reputation built over twenty years of training national champions. She shows more care and concern for her students and the horses then her own business interests so it sure sounds like sour grapes to me!So this popped up today on my Google reviews saying that 1000 views have been seen on my comment. Pleased to confirm an update that my daughter has now been going to Libby Ferguson’s training center for 8 1/2 years and she’s only gotten better.
Tiffany Brandell: Libby and the trainers are fantastic to work with. They are very patient with new riders, and they are great showing you all the ropes.
Abagail Perez: We spoke to Libby about coming to feed the horses some carrots. When we arrived everyone was nice and let us know which horses were ok to feed. Thank you, it was a great experience!
Abby Bandorovskaya: it is way to expensive here we paid to go here for an hour and we only got to ride for 45 minutes.the people are rude there.i wish i could rate a 0 i hope libby sees this.
Christopher M. Bingham: Fantastic experience for my oldest daughter, made a 2nd appointment on the spot. Highly recommend.
Brandy Bell: Bailey our trainer was amazing. She was friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. We can't wait to go back!
Tom Hoff DDS: I am not employed by Libby Ferguson nor was I coerced to write this review. It is really a shame that people can make unsubstantiated claims about a business with no consequences. My 5 year old daughter had a great experience at camp last week and will be going back for another week. I did in fact show up unannounced and watched my daughter ride, do crafts and even do a little work!!!
Emma Brown: I started riding at Libby’s at summer camp when I was 5 years old and loved all the horses and people at the barn. Camp was my favorite experience every summer, and I’ve now been riding with Libby for 11 years. Libby always makes sure I have every opportunity available to me to ride and compete on new horses, even though I don’t own a horse myself. It’s always the highlight of my day and my favorite place to be!
Sam Price: My daughter attended camp last week and had so much fun! I came and watched her ride during one of their riding sessions and she did great! She came home everyday so happy. She can’t wait to go to the next camp!
Thunderflower Esqvl: I wish I could rate ZERO STARS on this business. They are NOT GOOD to the kids who would like to enjoy Horse Camp.
Clair Smith: I was a guest who was visiting this "training center". The first thing I saw was the horses in their stalls. There was quite a few unsupervised children and workers around but no riding or training, the FAT training instructor was in a stall eating a sandwich! There was swimming advertised on the website, however I saw no pool. I did see a table where it seemed to me to be an area where children had been having some sort of activity. I saw construction paper, colored tissue paper, etc. My friend whom I was visiting at that stables opened a refrigerator to get some water. When she opened the refrigerator, I saw BEER and WINE on the BOTTOM SHELF! What kind of place puts children next to alcohol? And the fat training instructor said and did NOTHING about it! The children I saw who were in that stable on that day on Thursday were walking around, doing nothing and looking lost and they were unsupervised. I would NEVER bring or recommend my child or ANY CHILD to a place like this.
Lyca Heyoka: Every single five star review about this place is posted by ALL OF LIBBY FERGUSON'S STAFF MEMBERS, and SHOW STUDENTS WHO BOARD THEIR HORSES AT LIBBY FERGUSON TRAINING CENTER.Reviews from CURRENT or FORMER EMPLOYEES are in violation of Google's rules in posting reviews [Conflict of Interest] I was never employed at this location. As an observer who was deciding where to best send my client's children to horse camps.Don't be fooled by Grace H. and Rose H..Read their reviews on being at Libby's place for "15 years". They have a MARE (barn namen 'Harley') and they pay Libby to board their horse there. Grace is employed to be camp leader to your children while at Horse Camp at the Stables. Rose H. is also involved with attending your children at Horse Camp. Scroll down- see Mary & Lily Boyer's reviews. See a pattern?Kim is the instructor who trains show students, and she is also a paid staff member at that location. If you REALLY want to get a true feel of the impressions of the public who DO NOT board horses there, and you are seeking a safe and fun environment for your kids, read all the other reviews that people have posted about Libby Ferguson's place.Just because the STARS are showing high ratings, consider the SOURCES of those ratings.None of the 5 star ratings are posted by ANY HORSE CAMP ATTENDEES. None of the 5 star reviews are posted by anyone who DOES NOT GET PAID TO WORK for Libby.ALL five star reviews are posted by individuals who are employed by Libby and board their horses at that stable, and also are the same ones who are claiming that Libby's place is so great and so wonderful. If you want a more CLEAR and HONEST review about this place at 3850 apple hill lane in Springfield, look at all other reviews that DO NOT rate 5 stars.I rate 1 star because I was witness to many things that I just do not agree with:1. Hand led pony rides instead of real horse riding for camp kids that is being orchestrated by the very same group who gives 5 stars reviews.2. Although the website says the kids should bring swimsuits, NO KID EVER GETS TO SWIM. Why? Well, because there is NO POOL, NO LAKE, NO OTHER BODY OF WATER WHERE YOUR KIDS CAN SWIM on the entire property. Your kids will be told that they can 'swim' by using an inflatable water slide that is more for for kids ages toddler to 5 years old. That inflatable water slide is COVERED WITH MILDEW MOLD. Libby and Grace could not remove those stains. They asked ME how to remove the stains.3. Alcoholic beverages available and accessible to the camp kids in the refrigerator where the kids' lunches and snacks and water bottles are located. Many beer bottles and a wine bottle on the BOTTOM SHELVES, and more beers in cans in the bottom drawer.Every other person who posted 5 stars on their reviews of this place ARE NOT PAYING $400.00 for THEIR CHILDREN TO ATTEND THE HORSE CAMP HELD AT THIS LOCATION.The people who are rating 5 stars to this stable are only promoting this place for their own agendas: YOU pay for your kids to attend Horse Camp, THEY use your money to pay to ride in horse shows. If you are a parent who is considering to bring your child(ren) to attend any horse camp at Libby Ferguson Training Center, do not decide by the 5 star reviews. Instead, go to that location and WATCH for yourself. Horse Camp runs from 9am to 3pm. This year's summer horse camp is over, since the event is only held from 06/17- 06/21.They are offering another week of horse camp in August. I highly encourage all parents to observe the entire camp process, and then confirm that all the activities and services the website is offering your kids is CREDIBLE.This has been an announcement to all parents who are seeking a good place for your kids to enjoy horse camp. If you are a parent of any children who were attending the recent Horse Camp in the week of 06/17 thru 06/21 YOUR CHILD MAY HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO MOLD/MILDEW during their "swim", and your child was exposed to readily accessible alcoholic beverages in the refrigerator (the white one on the left).
Rose Huckfeldt: I have been riding with Libby for 15 years and although I could easily write many paragraphs regarding all of the wonderful things about Libby and her business, I will try to keep this simple and to the point. At Libby’s, kids and adults alike get to experience the many benefits of riding and working with horses in an environment where safety and a positive atmosphere are always the top priorities. Employees are friendly and helpful and students are respected and treated as individuals. All of the horses, as well as the dogs and cats, receive the utmost of care and are treated and loved as members of the family.
Michelle Carroll: People are polite and they have the best scenery
DeAntra Darough: Went here to deliver food. Wasn't sure where my GPS was taking me but the horses were beautiful.
S4 Livestock: Very well operated business. Great people!
Larry Jones: It’s a beautiful place, friendly people & animals, and a great place to have fun while smelling the fresh farm air!
Susan Jensen: Libby is amazing with the riders and horses. My daughter has been riding here for years, and it is the best money we ever spent!
Mary Anglum: To start off, the review written by Bonnie Lane mentions 2 sisters that claimed to have ridden here for a whole year, however I have never heard of anyone by that name and would definitely know the girls if they were here for that long, as I am here ALL the time. My sister and I have been riding here for over 7 years. We started out here with the amazing summer camps, and it was the absolute highlight of our summers! There is never a dull moment between the riding, games, crafts, waterslide, and all the people at the barn that share a happy attitude and love for animals. There has always been the right guidance and horses to accommodate all ages. After a few summers of camps we started taking lessons, and have grown immensely because of it. Every week there is a unique lesson to be learned, a variety of horses to choose from, and the huge amount of support from other riders and the incredible trainers. Both trainers, Libby and Kim are kind and patient and have such a huge depth of knowledge about horses and riding. My sister and I have worked summers at the barn and absolutely loved it. Libby is a great boss and knows how to get things done. If you're looking for a place to learn horsemanship, riding, make lifelong friends, and experience the beauty of the arabian horse, this is truly the only place to go.

Chris McKay: Great place for riding lessons
Candy Roller: Beautiful place!
Chase Adamson: The horses were very well taken care of and the trainers were very knowledgeable!
Wolf Wolf: My daughter was so excited to start her weekly lesson. However, every week the owner would cancel at the last minute! My daughter literally had 2 lessons in the 3 months we were there. Brandi has no business claiming she offers lessons. Brandi is clueless when it comes to business ethics and knowledge. It’s not fair to play with kids like this. My daughter gets so excited each week just to be let down. If your coach cancels then the owner needs to step up and teach the class herself or find reliable employees.
paul kupernik: Great facilities.
Stacy Gertner: My daughter loves everything about this place
Christine Arnett: Great facility. Great people. Good food for the horses. Happy and healthy horses with an owner who really cares!
Lanell Levere: Granddaughter taking riding lessons there. Very positive experience.
