Januarie Wood: If you have a child with special needs, move or find a private school. This year my son has gone backward academically. They quit doing parent/teacher conferences last year at his "school." There just seems to be a lot of run around and disorganization. There are no advocates for special needs kids and trying to navigate through any of it is extremely frustrating. It seems like no one cares. He does get to watch a lot of YouTube though so he likes that since he's not allowed at home. He's come home with new cuss words and other nasty stuff. Think they've given up on him...He's only 8. Just sad
Jessica Hansen: Sunshine elementary is a joke. They are absolutely horrible when it comes to "troubled kids" behavior or otherwise they do not know how to deal with them. And going to the main school office gets you nowhere. They tell you that your child is the problem. Then take it apon themselves to try to switch your child schools when you are in the middle of moving because they dont want to deal with them anymore. I have contacted the school board and have gotten nowhere they side with the school everytime. If i had the option my children would not go to any springfield schools. Whole system is a joke
Kristin Michel: This school district is absolute garbage. My child has been continuously bullied by some girls at her school, Westport Middle School, and no one takes it seriously. Me and my child have spoken to counselors, teachers, principal, vice principal, office ladies, and everyone in between and the bullying and harassment hasn't stopped. My next steps are the school board, police, and an attorney. It's sad that there are anti bullying and anti harassment policies yet no one takes it seriously. Get it together and take these kids more seriously.
FOSTER TV LLC: Thank you SPS schools for the BIG Bash on Saturday. What a great way to come together as a community and connect. It was nice to see our District getting behind families and connecting. For some big Foster Families or Large Families in general, going back to school can be PRICEY. So having a layer of support is needed. In addition, I saw kids getting excited to get back and learn. Even though the lines were confusing were to go and what you were getting, you got it right. CHEERS!

Rustin Osburn: My wife got hired we lived out of state so we moved so she could start the job but when we got here the school did not give her all the information that she needed so they said she was not going to be hired when it’s was their fault and they were not willing to work with her to possibly do something else until she could do the paperwork they needed this is not good business.

Carmen: Very poorly rated. It's scary how poorly rated some schools are. Virtual learning is a joke. No actual classes, no one is teaching, just "here's the link, here's the assignment, good luck". They wait until the last possible minute to announce school closings due to inclement weather. It's a hot mess. No innovation, no creativity, no sparc. Just...meh.

Took days to address the issue of my son being spit on and called multiple racial slurs but was forced to come pick up his crutches because he had a doctors note and not a prescription. Shout out to the Awfulest ppl employed in SPS VP Ms Young and P Dr Grega at Reed who kicked out my 9 yr old daugher out of BBall game for getting up out of her seat in between a game! It was 34 degrees outside and she made her leave the building and stand outside for an Hour and a Half! And this woman is working with kids and hired to be in charge of children?! Clearly they will save their own before they save a child

Sarah Kennedy: My daughter’s birthday party was so fun. They provided all of the entertainment, food and setup and the kids had so much fun. Low stress party planning! It was so well done:)
Finessa Evans: My kids have done a couple of camps and day camps. Their camps are very pricey for what they are. They say they provide “snacks” but they gave my kids 1 Oreo. My son really is interested in theater so we tried to do one of their education series. They over booked the play and they had adults in the play which took parts away from the kids. In the play that my son auditioned for they had 12 narrators because they had too many kids. This will be the last time I enroll my kids in any of their programs.

Jay Osborne: My family never received an email or letter or anything regarding bus sign up. We found out weeks before school that the bus would not be picking up our kindergartner. We called multiple times and did everything we could, but the transportation center was not helpful getting our five year old on the bus. As a result, my wife has to get a five year old to kindergarten, a four year old to wonder years, a two year old to preschool, all on her own while caring for a newborn. We pay our taxes and are diligent parents who fill out all the necessary forms that we come across. Shouldn’t our kid get picked up by the bus like all the other kids?

Arthur Morgan: This place trained the bus driver for 210, this bus hasn't had a permanent bus driver all year currently. This bus driver got us to school, with five minutes before class starts. Meaning we were not late. But, it takes me, a speed walker, 2 minutes to get down to cafeteria, I also eat breakfast. I want this woman to never drive a bus again, as to insure that my peers and I get to school with time to spare! If I could leave a zero star review I would!

Kaleb Small: As of right now, I am an incoming freshman, all of my older siblings have gone to and transferred to central from kickapoo for the IB program. The diversity of Central High School is great( in the cafeteria there are flags of all the country's that there are students from) the sports are improving and my students are proud to be bulldogs, including me. Go bulldogs.
Suzanne R Nimmo: Not an alumni, but all 3 of my girls now attend Central. We actually transferred one of our girls out of Glendale after her life was threatened and the school did nothing, they didn't even write anything about it even though I spoke to the Assistant Principal after the event. Central has so much to offer. They have outstanding courses and groups, I just wish they had more funding for theatre and Kilties.
